{poem} a soulful waiting, you've known
Episode description
a soulful waiting, you've known To be recognized for all you've shown In service to another's cause Has appreciation come, or was it lost? Has disdain replaced the gratitude you seek
For all the effort that you've given for weeks And months, and years of selfless toil For the other, without any spoil You say you've sacrificed so much
For human decency, a sacred touch Not for the sake of receiving back But the void of reciprocation makes you slack
A word, a phrase, a gesture, a smile Is all you asked for, just once in a while But how many years have you waited For this simple thing, that's understated?
Being good and knowing the truth Are two different things, forsooth The wounded life that humans live Is a reflection of the goodness they give
Namaste, you say, with a hopeful heart That one day, appreciation will impart The goodness that you've shown for years and wipe away the doubts and tears.
