Episode description

Clive Staples Lewis, a professor of English literature at the UK's University of Oxford (and later at Cambridge University), became one of the most influential writers of the 20th century, with works ranging from fiction to philosophy to Christian apologetics.

This radio address, presented on the BBC on March 21, 1944, later formed the basis for a chapter in his book, Mere Christianity, first published in 1952.

C.S. Lewis died on Nov. 22, 1963, one week before his 65th birthday.
