Saving America Begins at Home! Step 3-Worship

We ask questions and give answers as we conduct surveys . We do this so that you can make a true , informed decision about Jesus Christ . And today our topic is Saving America Begins at Home , step 3 .

Hi friends , welcome to Not your Parents Religion Podcast . I'm your host , pastor Robert Young . Today we're going to continue our discussion of Saving America Begins at Home . The last two episodes we talked about the benefits of having a church service in your own home with your family and possibly with extended friends and family .

Today let's go into detail about the most important aspect of this subject- worship . So

what is worship and why do we do it ? Worship is loving God for who he is . Worship is expressing that love and adoration . Worship is done in private devotion and in larger gatherings . During your expressions of love to God , your complete attention is on God .

To not do so is disrespectful to the creator of the universe , who loves us so much that he sent His only begotten Son to die on the cross for the penalty of our sins .

John 4.23 says that God is seeking from His creation those that would truly worship or love Him . 1 Chronicles 16.29 tells us to give unto the Lord the glory due unto His name . Bring an offering and come before Him . Worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness . Not only does God deserve our worship , he commands it .

The Ten Commandments in the Book of Exodus spells it out clearly .

Our God created man to have a reciprocal loving relationship with us . He established the rules by which we are to live and conduct ourselves and even how he is to be worshiped or loved . As a popular book about the ways people like to receive love , in essence , their love language , God's love language is holy reverence for Him above all others .

Now , before you say , even above the love I have for my children , my spouse , my parents or even mankind and others , yes , remember, our human love is subject to change depending on the temperament of the one giving the love . Human love can sometimes have impure motives . On the surface it can appear genuine , but the heart can be something else .

God's love , on the other hand , is unconditional and we have to go to Him to get the unconditional love that only he has . After all , God created love . Now we know the why . Next is the how . How do we express outwardly our love and adoration for God through worship ?

Worshiping God is not too dissimilar to the praise , and sometimes worship of people that we already do . Fyi , as stated earlier , God frowns upon worship of anything or anybody other than Himself , also for the reasons stated earlier . Let's look at how we show our love for a person .

When we verbally express our love for someone and all that they mean to us , when we verbally talk about their unique attributes and qualities and even love that person so much that we want to tell others about how great that person is , that's worship or love . Now take that concept and apply it to God , the one who deserves it .

The songs of praise that we sing in church about God helps to clear our minds and spirit of anything that's not honoring to God and helps our spirit to show and tell God how much we love Him for being a loving , caring , forgiving and providing God .

We worship God for His wonderfulness , not to get a blessing or favor or anything other than to love Him . This is how the Scripture says to worship God in the beauty of holiness . Finally , worship can and should be done as much as possible at your private devotion and definitely doing a specified time at a house church service with other believers .

I further encourage you to read your Bible daily and ask God for understanding and , of course , pray and talk to God daily . Seek out a God-worshipping church in your community and conduct church services in your own home with your family and friends .
