Imagine if everything you believed about Jesus was distorted by cultural and racial biases? That's the hard-hitting topic we tackle head-on in our fresh series: 'Three Ways White Jesus Damaged America'.  Join Pastor Robert Young as he poses searing questions that challenge the status quo, unpacking how the portrayal of Jesus as a European figure, complete with fair skin, blonde hair, and blue eyes, impacts perceptions of Christianity. We take a deep dive into how this depiction perpetuates the disconcerting idea that Christianity is exclusive to people of European descent, unintentionally reinforcing notions of white supremacy and causing a cultural disconnect.

Far from shying away from the uncomfortable, we delve into the implications this Eurocentric Jesus has had on young Christians from non-European backgrounds. Learn why it's essential to educate younger generations about the true historical context of Jesus' life and ministry to eradicate the notion of a Eurocentic Jesus. We're challenging the narrative, seeking to rewrite history to reflect the authentic Christianity that embraces people of all ethnic backgrounds. Stay curious for part two of our series, where we dig into 'The Colonizing Jesus'. At the end of the episode, if you feel moved to accept Jesus Christ as your savior, join Pastor Robert Young in a simple prayer of faith.

Intro / Opening

Pastor Robert Young

Ever wonder how and if the Bible has relevance for today . On this podcast we provide biblical answers to today's tough questions . Hi friends , I'm Pastor Robert Young . We have 30 plus years of church planting and mentoring other pastors , 30 plus years of training leaders in evangelism and discipleship .

Our team of missionaries go into jails , rehabs , parks , street corners , coffee houses and any place unchurched people gather . We present the true , untainted gospel . We ask questions and give answers as we conduct surveys . We do this so that you can make a true , informed decision about Jesus Christ .

And today our question is, did Jesus really have blonde hair and blue eyes ? We will attempt to answer this question next on the podcast . Hi friends , today we want to begin a series entitled Three Ways White Jesus Damaged America .

This Question is from Our Touring

This is specifically from our Touring of Cities and asking questions , a question that we're getting asked more and more . Younger , more informed generations are challenging the supposed truth that their parents or grandparents may have espoused . Without question , this subject is not particular to non-white people .

For generations , the image of a seemingly divine figure with fair skin , flowing locks of blonde hair and piercing blue eyes has been ingrained in the minds of many young people . This portrayal of Jesus Christ has subtly

The Subtle Perception of Christianity

but significantly shaped perceptions of Christianity , unintentionally marginalizing people of different ethnicities and turning religion into a cultural icon . In this episode , we explore how the concept of a European looking Jesus has had a negative impact on the younger generation's perception of Christianity .

Christianity , with its origin in the Middle East , has spread across the globe , touching the lives of people from diverse cultural backgrounds . However , as the faith expanded , different regions and cultures began pictorially representing Jesus in ways that reflect their own physical features and traditions .

Through centuries of artistic interpretation , the image of a fair skin Jesus arose , displacing the authenticity of his Middle Eastern heritage . The visual portrayal of a blonde-haired , blue-eyed Jesus perpetuates the notion that Christianity belongs solely to individuals of European descent .

This has created a disconnect for young people of different cultures , causing them to question whether they truly belong in the Christian faith and if they would be accepted by said faith .

White Jesus Promotes the Notion of White Superiority

The promotion of a Eurocentric Jesus has reinforced notions of white supremacy , white superiority and a hierarchical worldview , where white features are deemed more spiritually ideal . This has undoubtedly contributed to racial discrimination and alienation within religious communities , which , by the way , is the subject of a whole episode coming soon to this podcast .

By focusing solely on the Eurocentric image , younger generations may overlook the rich cultural heritage that exists within various Christian communities across the globe . Young Christians from non-European backgrounds may internalize feelings of inadequacy or doubt regarding their own spirituality and faith .

This has the potential to erode self-confidence and hinder personal growth within the religious community . When we

Changing the Narrative to True Christianity

begin to educate younger generation about the true historical context of Jesus' life and ministry , we can help dismantle the ingrained notion of a Eurocentric Jesus and all the implications that come with it .

By recognizing the negative impact of the Eurocentric depiction of Jesus , we can pave the way for a faith that embraces people of all ethnic backgrounds , and it is time to challenge the status quo , rewrite the narrative to more accurately reflect true Christianity and friends .

This episode is dedicated solely to those who have questioned us about the true origin of Christ whether he was blonde-haired and blue-eyed because it matters to them and we want to set the record straight . In part two of our series , we'll talk about the colonizing Jesus .

Jesus was not a colonizer's , no , but those who came over in the name of Jesus that did some really bad stuff . We're going to talk about that in the second episode of this series .

A Call to Action! Accept Jesus!

Now , if you've been listening to this podcast for any length of time and you say , okay , I believe that Jesus wasn't blonde-haired , blue-eyed , even though there was a chance that some Jewish people are born with blonde-haired blue-eyed it's rare , but we know that Jesus wasn't and I believe this .

Jesus Christ , I believe that he came and died on the cross to pay the price that I could not pay for the remission of my sins . And I've been listening for a while now and I want to accept this Jesus Christ as my savior . Then, my friends, say this simple prayer with me ?

Father , I believe that Jesus died on the cross so that I could be forgiven of my sins . I receive him now as my savior because I repent of my sins right now and I ask you to fill me with the precious gift of the Holy Ghost , and I receive him now in the name of Jesus Christ , amen .

Now , friend , if you've said that with a sincere heart , the Bible lets us know that your name has been written in a book up in heaven called the Lamb's Book of Life .

Now you have another step to take , and that is to do your research , do your due diligence and research all of the Bible believing, God honoring, God worshiping, Jesus believing churches in your community , and go to one of those churches and sit and be instructed and contribute and be part of a corporate worship experience and grow in your relationship with God .

Now , friends , until next time next week , when we do part two of Did Jesus Really have Blind Hair and Blue Eyes , I am your host , pastor Robert Young , and we will see you then .
