Welcome to today's meditation with our focus on your identity in Christ . Find a comfortable position , close your eyes and take a deep breath in for a count of seven . Hold the breath for a count of seven, slowly exhale for a count of seven .
Now that you are familiar with our muscle relaxation exercise , let's perform muscle relaxation by simply tensing each muscle group for three seconds and then releasing the muscle . Remember , don't hold your breath for this portion of the meditation . Begin with the calves Lightly tense the calf muscles for a count of three , now release .
Moving upward to the hamstring , quads and glutes , lightly tense for three seconds and release . Moving to the chest and back areas , lightly tense for three seconds and release . Finally , moving to the arms and shoulders , lightly tense these muscle groups for three seconds , now release .
Reflect on Psalms 139 , verse 14 , which says I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made . Your works are wonderful . I know that full well . This verse reminds us that God created each of us uniquely and with purpose . Take a moment to thank him for designing you just the way you are .
Now let's think about 1 Peter , 2 , verse 9 , which says, but you are a chosen people , a royal priesthood , a holy nation , God's special possession that you may declare the praises of him . This verse reveals that , as believers , we have been chosen by God and set apart for his glory .
Reflect on the fact that you a member of God's royal priesthood , called to bring his light into this world . As you meditate on these truths , remember that your identity is not based on your popularity on social media , your accomplishments , your appearance , not even the acceptance of others .
Your identity is rooted in Christ , who has redeemed you and called you his own . Take a few moments to rest in this truth , letting the reality of your identity in Christ sink deep into your soul . Allow yourself to fully embrace the love and acceptance that God freely offers you as his beloved child .
As you continue on your journey of faith , may you always remember who you are in Christ , fearfully and wonderfully made , chosen and set apart for his glory . Amen you .
