Bradley Roth

Hey, everyone, welcome back to another episode of The not most people podcast, the show for those allergic to mediocrity groupthink and following the status quo. This is your host Bradley. And I want to thank you for tuning in, I know that your time is super valuable, we're all very busy these days. So it means a lot that you would take the time, or spend your time listening to this podcast. So I don't take that Lightly, lightly. And I'm here to bring you as much value

as I can. So today, I just want to share one lesson, or one idea that I myself have learned the hard way. And hopefully, it can save you a little bit of time and effort that I wasted. And that's about the idea of this the silver bullet, the quick ticket, the golden ticket to success. So in my ongoing journey towards success in each area of my life, I've learned a lot. I've learned a ton, really, about business, about health, about relationships, about life

in general. But there's one lesson that really took me a while to learn. And if I had learned it earlier, I think it would have saved me a lot of time, a lot of money, and a lot of energy. And as to not search for that silver bullet, or that shortcut or that quick fix, because instead of rocketing you towards success, it's more actually more likely to kill

yours. And you know what I'm talking about, we're talking about the fad diets, that promise help you lose 10 pounds of fat in a week, the jacked in two weeks workout routines, the miracle supplements, the get rich quick schemes, trying to gamble your way to wealth, the too good to be true promises have insane results, they all boil down to one thing. And that's the promise of easy. They prey on the human desire for instant gratification, and the desire to get something for

nothing. And so we hear successful people say it's all about hard work, patience, not giving up and all those things. But we'd like to brush that aside, because it's not what we want to hear or what we want to believe. And then on the flip side, there's this whole other group of people who at least look successful. But they're actually the ones who are selling the silver bullets in the get rich quick schemes. And they're profiting off of that

desire. So they may look successful, but they're really just kind of doing it in a shortcut, kind of not so great way. And they do this because they know that easy sells. And they know that many people are lazy and will pay for quick and easy. And you can trust me because I've been one of those people before, I definitely haven't been the worst. But I'm definitely guilty of kind of chasing a couple of those things. And so we want to believe that there's ways to

shortcut the whole process. But the truth is that the real long term success, the success that you can be proud of, that has a strong foundation never comes in the form of a silver bullet. And the silver bullet usually ends up just shooting us in the foot. Because we find out that it's not as easy as they promised that we wasted our time and our money looking for that shortcut. And we end up starting back at square one over and over. So it puts us in this cycle of getting

our hopes up. And then starting over getting our hopes up and starting over. And so we end up thinking that it was something wrong with us about why it didn't work. And that might be the case sometimes. But in reality, 99% of the time, the silver bullet just ends up slowing us way down and delaying the success that we probably could already have. If we just put our heads down, move forward without avoiding the work.

Because if the silver bullet really worked most of the time, or success was as easy as these people promise. Most people would be in amazing shape. Most people would be drowning in riches, but they're not. So what's the answer? You know, it's probably to accept the fact that if something sounds too good to be true, or too easy that it probably is. And we've all heard this before. And this doesn't mean to pound your head against the wall and things that

don't work. And, you know, we should continue to look for ways to speed up your results, but that don't promise to remove all of the work. That's the litmus test. That's the test of someone who's a quote unquote Guru is if they're telling you Do that you can skip all the hard working and skip right to the front lines of success in any area. That's the litmus test. So don't try to shoot that silver bullet, because it's likely to backfire. And hopefully, you won't learn

this the hard way like I did. So that's it. That's just the big idea for today. As always, if you got value out of this episode, I just ask that you share it with one person. And if you're not on the email list yet, that that most people email list, be sure to check that out because we got a lot of awesome stuff coming your way we got a community for you guys that's in the works, if it's not already out at the time of this recording, and a lot of other cool stuff. So stay tuned.
