Episode description

Hey guys, this week I have an excellent conversation with Stand-up Comedian, Nuha. Originally from the Maldives and now based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, she is a journalist turned comedian and a good one at that.

In this episode, we talk about the pandemic and how it's been affecting the comedy scene in Malaysia, especially with the current lockdown. She shares with her life growing in the Maldives, what the country is really like to the locals and how she was like as a child.

We discuss family; feeling like the odd one in the bunch, her close relationship with her grandparents and the values they instilled in her. We open up about coping with the loss of loved ones, how it made us reevaluate our life choices and revealing how unprepared with are for it even when we try.

She shares how she ended up staying in Malaysia, her passion for journalism and how she transitioned to comedy. We discuss the power media, belief systems and the progression of society using conversations. We end it off with the concept of privilege, objectivity and how her background as a journalist seeps into her comedy.
