Episode description

Today, we are honored to hear three different preachers—Jacob Mills, James Cleary, and Andy Rosse—continue our Sermon on the Mount series. Each service featured a different preacher preaching from the same text; all three are included here. You can use the timestamps in the description to jump to a different service, but if you have the time, I recommend listening to all three because each of them approaches Jesus' words with a slightly different lens and emphasis.

The text from today's sermons is Matthew 5:38-42, where Jesus addresses retaliation.

Revenge feels natural. It's what the world craves—what every blockbuster glorifies. But Jesus flips the script. In one of His most radical teachings, He challenges us to lay down our rights, to respond to insults with grace, and to answer unfairness with bold generosity.

Does turning the other cheek mean becoming a doormat? Is Jesus calling us to accept injustice? No. He's calling us to something far more powerful—to reclaim our dignity, to resist evil in a way that transforms hearts, and to trust in a justice far greater than our own.

Today, each preacher will unpack what Jesus really meant—and what He didn't—when He said, "Do not resist the one who is evil." It's not weakness. It's kingdom strength. And it changes everything.
