18. Rural Family Practice Anesthesia - Dr. Kirk McCarroll

Dr. McCarroll is a family practice anesthetist. Originally hailing from St John, New Brunswick, Dr. McCarroll completed medical school at Dalhousie University before moving to Prince George, BC to complete rural family medicine residency at the University of British Columbia. Following graduation, Dr. McCarroll worked in Iqaluit and as a locum in BC before completing a PGY3 in Family Practice Anesthesia at UBC in Vancouver. Since then, Dr. McCarroll has practiced as a family practice anesthetist in a variety of settings in BC including his current job in Revelstoke, a small town located almost equidistant between Calgary and Vancouver. Dr. McCarroll is also the lead of the Rural Coordination Centre of BC Family Practice Anesthesia Network. Outside of medicine, Dr. McCarroll enjoys skiing, snowboarding, kayaking, canoeing, and rafting with his family.
