No Trash, Just Truth! - Proverbs 9:10 Ministries

Chris Paxson & Rose Spillerwww.proverbs910ministries.com

Weekly, 30-45 minute episodes of Christian, Biblical Truth! No false teaching, no watered-down theology! It's time to take out the trash!! “Fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.” Proverbs 9:10 Ministries is dedicated to getting rid of the lies of false teaching and believers being dumbed-down with watered-down theology that is being pedaled as "Christian.” To comprehend and appreciate who God the Father, Jesus the Messiah, and the Holy Spirit is, it is necessary to study the Bible; both the Old Testament and the New Testament, and live under its total authority. When we do, we see real life transformation happen!

Episode 299 - The Only Son from Heaven, Before the Throne of God Above, & Like a River Glorious - Stories Behind the Songs Part 9

Send us a text In this episode, we honor three women hymn writers who wrote some timeless hymns that have been sung by worshipers for centuries. One woman who wrote such a deep, theological hymn during the Reformation, some didn't believe a woman could have done it, and gave the credit to a man! Another of the ladies we look at, had an exemplary life leading up to the writing of her famous hymn, but then made several bad life decisions. And our third female was a young girl who taught all around...

Episode 298 - What A Friend We Have in Jesus - Stories Behind the Songs Part 8

Send us a text Have you ever done something pretty terrific and someone else gets the credit for it? It can frustrate us, and even sometimes make us mad. But Joseph Scriven reacted neither way, even when his beautiful hymn, "What a Friend We Have in Jesus," was credited to someone else. Scriven was a completely selfless and loving man, who happily sacrificed all he had to further the Kingdom of God. His story is one of tragedy and sadness, but ultimately a story of triumph as God used Joseph Scr...

Send us a text In this episode, we take a little detour and look at the timeless children's Christian songs, "Jesus Loves Me," and "This Little Light of Mine." Episode 296 - Rock of Ages & If Ever I Loved Thee, My Jesus Tis Now - Stories Behind the Songs Part 6

Send us a text As a rule, with age comes wisdom, but we need to be willing to recognize that wisdom is not just limited to the older. Sometimes, profound wisdom can come from the young. Such is the case with the two writers we delve into in this episode Augustus Montague Toplady, who wrote , Rock of Ages when he was only 21; and William Ralph Featherstone who wrote “If Ever I Loved Thee, My Jesus Tis Now,” at only 16. But youth wasn't the only thing these two had in common! Rock of Ages, public ...

Episode 295 - Stand Up, Stand Up for Jesus, Onward Christian Soldiers! & Eternal Father, Strong to Save - Stories Behind the Songs Part 5

Send us a text In this episode, we look at three classic hymns with a military theme. Because of this, it has caused many "anti-war" liberals to protest against them, and even completely exclude them as hymns of worship. But those who do this, not only show they misunderstand the real meaning of these timeless treasures; they also show their ignorance of Scripture, because God clearly tells us from Genesis to Revelation that we are constantly in a war against evil and sin. Episode 294 - I Will Sing of My Redeemer - Stories Behind the Songs Part 4

Episode 290 - Receive the Benediction - Faith in Action Part 14

Send us a text We wrap up our "Faith in Action" series with Paul's final words in 2Corinthians. After he finishes what he has to say, he gives a benediction to the people. There are lots of questions surrounding the meaning and purpose of the benediction, including what are they? What is their meaning in Scripture? Today, why do we include it in our worship services?
