Episode description

S2E86 - Sinister Silo (Halloween 2024)

With Tuna out of trouble and the crew a little wiser to the threat the crew take a moment to talk to their favorite mechanic and work out how they're going to tackle Silo 74's Zeeve infestation. It's a tighter space but with the element of surprise they might get out fairly unscathed, as long as no one shoots.

Can they whip in the streets?

Will Jeb remain quiet?

What did Retro do last time he was here, nothing right?

Only the dice will tell.

Last time on no latency. Could be paint. It's OK. Everything's fine. It's OK. Yeah, it's blood. What is this? Z with the line through it. Steve, obviously. Steve Prime. I haven't seen him in the. Basement of the bar. We have to keep track of our NPCS, everyone. Track it perhaps? He disabled it. Not anymore. Fuck, maybe it was controlling the hand. Said the man's head is beeping. It's tuna, all right. I heard that screaming all the way over here. I'll get your guns, but stop

that stupid accent my gun. You've made your bed, now lying. These guys look like they had the metal days. Wow. Jeb, you're really batting 1000, aren't you? Yeah, Sarah needs some mail, all. Right. I'm going to go up and down, sorry. I'm so sorry. He's. Like right there he's like, right there you. Know what I'm going to run for it. Looks like transmissions ended. We got to find Tuna. Where is he? Tuna. Tuna. Just keep talking so I can follow your voice. Oh goodness.

Baby, it's not. You, yes, the whole gang's here. You're all here. Oh, thank God. It's oh, it was bad. They they came alive. The yes, I think, I think we've taken care of them all so you should be safe you. You. You. I should be safe. You promise? Yes. Phoebe. Phoebe doesn't sound the most convincing, but OK, keep talking. I'm down here, I'm over here, I'm over here. Ayanna, should we go to this door? Ayanna, this door, should we go through it? Which door? All right, all right, all.

Right. Yeah, I guess you just went right on in. Well, everybody's, everybody's gone, right? Well, yeah, there's a bunch of dead. No, no, they're all dead on the ground because. Yeah. It's a bit morbid, but that's that's the case. They kind of killed their like mommy or whatever there. You are. Oh. Tuna. You found tuna.

That was easy. Tuna's standing in front of the shed now, in the back southeast corner of the compound, and he's standing there holding a giant mini gun and he's covered with a decent amount of blood. That's concerning somebody else's blood. No, no, no, it's so. I know Halloween's meant to be scary, but this is fucking ridiculous. Oh, is it just pasta sauce? Just. Constantly retro is blood. I had to shoot a lot of them and they just kept coming back. Are you hurt? With the no.

I can take a look. I I would appreciate that, Phoebe. That's very good, yeah. Should I just? Sit. He just sits on the ground. Yeah, she just does a quick scan. 22 Yeah. He has pulled a muscle in one of his legs. He's overstretched a muscle on his shooting arm that was supporting the gun. You should be all right. A few painkillers should make him feel better and bring his moods down and he'll be easier to talk to. And Vivi does just that.

She pulls out some painkillers from her bag from her medical bag and just tosses them over to Tuna. That'll help. Oh, drugs. Oh, mate. Thank you so much. I really appreciate it. All right, I can take it with alcohol, right? Yeah. Cracks have been here. In theory you can, yes. Here we go, bums up lads. OK. Oh. Yeah, I'll get a buzz from that one. I brilliant. Tuna. Yeah. You didn't happen to get bit, did you?

Bit? No. Good. For most of the time I was on top of the shed and then embarrassingly and thankfully, when you weren't here, I fell through the roof. So I was hiding out in the shed and now I have to get a new roof. I'll call Bob and Ilda, it'll be fine. Oh yeah, that, that, that. That's a good choice. I'm just glad you didn't get bit because then otherwise we'd have to put you down. Wow, that's dark. Retro what? Do you want me to say we have zombies everywhere and that's

that's how it? Works you can't stay zombies. It's copyrighted. All right. Do you hope there's a cure? We. Worked that out in season 1. No, you're supposed to call them biters. That's right, Yeah, Iona's right. They've got it. Sorry biters. Sorry, that's not bad. What is that's the rule, right? You got you get bit by a biter. There's no cure. I Iona's already said that sure, a lot. Look. This is not the first time we're going to deal with this.

Retro, I'm not being funny, but like I'm going to go over here and look at them. Aren't aren't biters normally like green? Sometimes. Aren't, aren't these like, isn't it kind of weird to have like a bougie zombie? Sorry Biter, why the hell are they called? Well, do you remember there was an epidemic not too long ago where there were a bunch of gold hooligans running around? Oh yeah, the Steves. Fucking annoying little shits. And do you do you know what these creatures called themselves?

Steves Well, these ones, the ones around us right now, yes. Oh no, I just, they started trying to attack me. No, they said they were going to attack anyone who was friends with them, whoever them or. Well, the the Dumbers, the Dumber ones, said Zeves. Zeves. The Dumber ones did go zeves like they like like in the movies, but normally a bit more. And Zeves are completely different than Steve's, so I I I'm just as lost as.

You are. Are they or or is it like or is it like AZ word version of Steve? That that feels very on brand for Halloween Iona. Well, I'm just saying I'm right. Yes, I agree. So I mean, what am I meant to say to that? I agree. No, nothing. I've I just assumed that other people would say things. I mean, what else do you want to say? That seems like we pretty much nailed it first try.

So what are we? OK, well look y'all, why don't you just do another walkthrough, make sure that there isn't anything that isn't connected to the frequency or at least maybe find some clues. I'm going to go find the. What were we calling the the dudes with the the? Receivers. The receiver, Yeah, I'm going to go check on the receiver and see if I can try to triangulate since we have one bit of information. Oh. Yeah, yeah.

All right. OK, yeah, I'll, I'll, I'll just take a quick look around and make sure there isn't anything else weird around here. Sure. I mean, there's lots of dead bodies around here. I mean, I'm assuming they're dead. They just kind of all dropped at once. What did you do anyway? Oh, we killed their Mama. They have a mother. Oh God, they have a mother. I mean, you know, hypothetic, hypothetical, I don't know if that's the right word, but it's like they're they're kind of mum. Oh, right.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, I get it. Oh retro retro, you rolled the literally the worst crit possible. I didn't have to because I have inspiration and I'll just use that, OK? But that is bad. It is worth an inspiration. That's literally the worst role you can get 26. We got to go. There you go, 26. Very good. Very good. Yeah. So you're, you're getting used to pulling this signal out. It's based in one of three chips in their head. And this time you found it in the first one.

It's right there in the back behind the battery compartment on this guy. And now you have the second piece of data you need to triangulate the original signal, although not quite enough in order to find it. You will still need one more piece of information similar to this, just from a different location. But since you didn't roll a crate, that's all you get. Yeah, All right, well, this one was the worst. I mean, no maintenance whatsoever. Ports were all clogged with all kinds of gunk.

I think the skin actually started flaking off, like turning into its own version of Clippers. Yeah, I know. It's gross. You don't find anything because I only got like the second bit for being able to triangulate. Well, I'm, I'm not allowed or well, I'm sorry, let me take that again. I I don't suppose we should loot tunas, So I think we're done here. No, no, I would prefer if you didn't, although I've got vending machines and shit. Well, new one. Yeah, I see.

What? What do we got in here? Well, if you roll AD 10, you'll find out. Roll 3D10 if you want to check a vending machine. All right. All right. VV you head up to a vending machine and you discover a packet of jizzna snaps for 15 eddies, a Taser boy ammo packet of 25 bullets, and a fake parking ticket. Have fake parking ticket on what? Why would you like? Regular parking ticket, but if you've already got a ticket on your car, they're not going to

give you another one. This might be useful. How much is the fake parking ticket going for? 20 eddies. It's very convincing. 20 eddies. All right, I'll fork up 20 eddies for a fake parking ticket just in case. Cool the. Vending machine gives you a fake parking ticket and there are spaces on it that you can print realistic words and coats. So it is for 20 eddies. It is indistinguishable from a real parking ticket except if you try to pay it. There's no record, that's the only difference.

What? What do you got over there, Retro? Retro is looking at a different vending machine and he also finds some Taser Boy ammo. A1 use raincoat that changes from grey to pink if it gets wet and like 2 cans of jizzna ale for 20 bucks. Just the good stuff. I'll definitely. Get the jizzna snaps. Could use some smash but there ain't none around. But you know what? I'll get the raincoat too, just in case. They feel like just as BDSM wear is not going to be that protected. Raincoat is $35.

It's it says 1 use because it will only change color once. Once it has become pink. It is pink, but it's currently Gray, so when it is hit by rain it will change color. Well, yeah, I'll put that on. OK, cool. You're now wearing a Gray like all over Wayne Protector. Rain Protector. A Wayne Protector. Wayne Protector. Don't Wayne Protector. Isn't that a Wayne Corporation? Excuse me whittle wady. Would you like some Wayne protection? It's made by the waste product corporation.

Everything they everything they make is single use and bad for the environment. Awesome. So awesome. Whittle we cool? All right, Should we get out of here then? Yeah, you. Seem sick? Why are we? Going to go next. You you step out into the courtyard and all of these dead Zeebs are on the ground. You've looked through the

vending machines, etcetera. And out there where some of the cars are parked, you can see Vendel practicing with their new skate feet and sort of muttering to themselves. I can't. Believe they've fallen over like 4 times. I've got to get better at this. OK, so it's glide and push, Glide and push. You know what you should do? You should use the the bodies as obstacles. Well, that's a good idea. I'm going to roll for it. Oh yeah. But. Yeah, we can do that if that's what you're into. I am.

I am into that. We're going to roll dance again, I think. And athletics. No, Athletics is lower. Oh wow. And you rolled A-16 for Vendel, which is above above average, isn't it when you think about? It well, they're learning. They're learning still. They do a really good job of just weaving through these dead bodies like they're a cone, and the last three they managed to do that leg switching thing, but their legs cross as they do it and it looks pretty cool.

It's not a majorly cool trick, there's no flips or anything, but it's one of the first decent tricks that's Vendel's been able to pull off since having their skate feet installed just a few hours ago. Hey, hey, hey. I did it. Did that look cool? It was like a moonwalker. No. Very cool. Super cool, yeah. Like I. Don't think I could ever pull that off. Oh no, you.

Couldn't my legs? You don't have skate feet, that's really the only reason why though retro I'm sure you could do it. But don't downplay what you've accomplished today. No, I know, I'm just. I'm just trying to be nice. Thank you. Don't have to be nice. OK, Retro, get fucked. I'm better than you. Is that better? It's perfect. Retro will remember this. Why did that text appear in the sky? That's weird. Anyway, we should. It's a Life of Strange reference.

Actually, we'll remember this. It appears in the sky. It appears above us in AUI that we cannot see. It was a joke. Anyway, I'm now over explaining the joke. Would you like to know why this joke is funny? Then subscribe, then then follow Help us out on fucking what do we use? Patreon. Oh my. Gosh. Great pitch. So you're here in this courtyard, you've done your little bit of socializing. If you want to talk more to Tuner about what he's observed or examine the bodies, you can.

I don't. Have anything at the moment? I don't know. I feel like we should probably get going. I don't know if we need more ZVS around, so I think it's probably best we just make our shit, you know, get our shit together and take care of these things before they get out of hand. That's that's a really good idea. Dear Jeb, where are we? Where are we going? Well, that I don't know. I. I suppose that we could go to the silo and pick up the, you know, from so we could for you

know who. Yeah, that's right. Do we have to hide these things around tuna? I have. No, Yeah, yeah. I, I I'm not quite sure. Better safe than sorry. We should get in Vanna White. Sure. I'll just clean this up all on my own then. You guys are going to, right? Great. That's thanks for saving me though. I guess that's probably a thing I should be thankful for. I mean, generally, yeah, that's probably a good idea, yeah. No, no no, no. Happy Halloween everyone.

I'm really bummed I won't have time to to wear my my costume. Oh. Just leave them here, leave them here. They're they're not going anywhere. I suppose I can just close the gate, don't tell anyone there's a bunch of dead people here because I'm going to have to get there sorted. No VV, do you know? No. No. Is there? An org or something? They're Halloween decorations there. Is in fact a morgue. OK. I used to work there.

Oh did you? Do you know anyone there where I can get their bodies picked up in like a group deal? Maybe a coupon? I do, actually. My old boss, Doctor Dave, I could probably give him a call and he'd come by and pick these all up. Oh, that's great. Yeah. I mean, I would appreciate that because I don't have time to go and put on my costume that I haven't mentioned yet.

Oh, right, it's Halloween. You, you and you're not dressed up. Well yeah, I was going to get dressed up, but then I got attacked by a bunch of golden like zombie eating people. All right, all right. I mean, I am very curious as to your costume, so yes, please do that. Do you want me to? I mean, I've got it. It's in the shed, so yeah. Go. We'll, we can stand here. Give. Me, like, give me like just 30 seconds, I'll be right back. He Naruto runs and closes the door. What?

What should we think about? Should we take bets on what it is? Yeah, I'm thinking ghost. You know, just a classic. Just a sheet over the head with some eyes. A bite a biter might be funny. Based on the way he ran, I think maybe he's playing a ninja anime ninja that we can't say. Yeah, that's that's possible. I'm betting on his forehand. Oh. Yeah, we're we're ready. We're ready. And Tuna bursts out into the courtyard in a pleated skirt, blonde pigtails and a big staff with a moon on it.

Hello, you're right. Look at me. I've got a corset and everything. Oh fabulous. For a second I thought you were going to be Chitney beers. No, no, not at all. I'm I'm an anime fan, so I thought I dressed up like this. A what? A fan. That's how you say it. Costume is a fan. No, no, no. I'm just I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm a sailor. And if I'm not careful, if I bend over, I'll moon you. So I won't.

It's a short skirt. Oh. That's why the staff is. The yeah, yeah, yeah, There you get it. Yeah, yeah, yeah. To represent my bum exactly, yeah. I see. Actually, the character you're referencing doesn't use a staff, so. I know, but I had to make it distinct from the copyright holder, otherwise they'll come after me. I do appreciate being precise and I respect it. Like you and me. Me, the real fans. Do you know what I mean? The real. Yes, yes. It glows when I talk.

Look, I can't think what to say to make it play, but look what's funny. I don't know if you're just at. The. I. Think it was at the part. It was that part that was funny. Well, you know, I feel a lot better now that you saved me for all of these people, so thanks. Yeah, you didn't even run from a real fight. You are the one Tuna. Or thanks, Retro. Well, I've, I've got a costume contest to go to, you know, do you want me to call?

Do you want me to call Doctor Dave and you guys can go and solve this Night City mystery? It's Halloween after all, so. Yes, let me give you his contact info. Let him know that you're friends with VV and you should be all good. Great Fab. Yeah, yeah, no worries. And I tell you what as a deal this is, this is like this is like tit for tat in it. So if you come back, you need a repair that hoverboard. Maybe you wanted to do a little work on it or something, I don't. Know we'll.

Talk. We'll talk. Keep that in mind. Because you know what, Getting rid of a bunch of dead bodies. I mean, there are a lot. There are a lot of bodies here. It's like one of the biggest groups of bodies we've ever had on the show, period. So it's just kind of upsetting. I will keep that in mind. Thanks, Tuna. You're welcome. All right, I'm, I'm going to see you later. Please leave through one of the West gates because there's one a lot behind you. The ones on the east side will

not. Aye, aye, sailor. Nice, I'm. Actually going to I'm going to hand over to tuna some of the candy corn treats that VV gave me. Candy corn kibble. What? Yeah, well, this stuff is terribly great, isn't it? You you deserve Yeah. Oh, yeah, yeah. I haven't even, I haven't even broken into the other ones that they gave me. But like, you know, they're a bunch of bite sized ones. So I thought you you should have one. Yeah, just. Because I love the cost. Appreciate it, love the cost. Bye.

All right, well, it was. Well, that was. Well, it sure, it sure is hard to get rid of tuna sometimes, isn't it? You soggy, get out of here. All right. No, we should. We should get in the van and go to the silo to the moon. Yeah, let's go before Diamond Hands decides to, you know, join us. Fucking diamond ass. So you leave this place, closing the gate behind you, and you get in the van and Jeb, you don't actually know where to go. No, I I don't. That's true.

Oh, Vandelk. He lives direction. Vandelk, could you just send directions to Jeb's tile? Yes, of course, Jeb. We're going to silo 74. Silo 74. You have been there before, Jeb. Yeah, that's the place that had the all of the all the fucked up. Samples and stuff. Yeah. What, we're going back to that crazy, No. No, no, not the junkyard place. We're going back to the the place where they just keep the formula. Because you stole something from me there. I didn't steal anything.

I didn't steal a damn thing. You did because I made you. No, I didn't eat. Can I roll to? To gaslight me. Yeah. Rolled. Gaslight. Rolled. Gaslight. I mean, as long as everyone's OK with it, yeah. That's fine, I can't find gaslight on here. Human perception. That's what I'm doing, yeah. You know, I don't have a lot of points here. I am going to put some luck into it. Amazing. No, not luck. You're you're, you're. What you're doing with your TV

head is very funny. Ironically, Iona forgets that you stole. Continue with your gas lighting. No, we don't have to. Yeah, we don't have to roll. Play through it. But yeah, no, I haven't sold anything. Well, that's where we're going. What do I steal? Remember, what do I steal? I don't, I don't know, did. You still never mind it, let's just keep going. Jeb, are you driving? I mean, yeah, I just don't know where I get. I mean, I know, I know the general idea, but is that noise

the address? Oh yeah. Go ahead and plug that in straight into the into the console there. Oh mate, it's all right. You never put it into the SAT NAV on your own. You always get us to do it. You really need to. Learn I'm driving. That's copilot stuff. Copilot stuff. Anyway, 26. Now you say that with a laugh. You say that with a laugh, Jeb, but if you remember correctly, in the last episode, you did not do well on driving. No, I did not.

It should be noted that you did damage the van and it will need repairs. Yeah, yeah, it happens. It's a good thing that we just saved your mechanic. Folks, welcome to dungeons and Randomness. Since 2012, myself and an amazing cast of 18 have been telling stories in our home brew world of Theria. 4 different groups explore lost ruins, run for political office, Rage Against a mad king, set sail to long forgotten islands, and so

much more. Every group has a different story and flavor, and every season or Ark has a new set of groups and stories all building the history of our world with every single session. Literally hundreds of hours of stories are waiting for you as part of the Pick X network. Check out Dungeons and Randomness wherever you get your podcasts and we'll see you around the table. Jeb, if we ever need to park somewhere that is not a legal parking spot, I have something that might help.

I bought a fake parking ticket. Oh. So we can put this in the window and it looks like we already got a ticket, so all of the NCPD will ignore us if we have to park somewhere. Yeah. I was wondering what the use of that would be, but now I'm understanding. OK, that's pretty good. That's pretty good. Says Jeb as he pulls up lightly outside of Silo 74. And you will pile outside of the vehicle and it is eerily, eerily quiet. Damn. I'm going to walk over to Jeb.

Hey, Jeb. Jeb. Yeah. You should probably use that that that ticket now. I mean, I suppose. Yeah, just making sure. No one. Yeah. Why? Why don't we do that? Might as well, right? What? Does. What does the sign say? I mean, I don't know if you noticed Jeff, but down on the ground it says we're in a 15 minute loading zone. And like anything, it definitely takes us 15 minutes just to get to a door. That's true. That's true. I don't know. I don't know.

I don't think you'll need it. That's up to you job, by the way. I just say, why not put it on there? You know, it's not like it's a one time thing. Oh, I suppose if nobody takes it, we can just pick it up again. That's smart. Yeah, exactly. That's what I'm saying. Jim, is this a window? Yes. Go ahead. Go ahead and do your description. I think that that's important. You're right. So you're looking. To interrupt you.

You're looking around, you look back, Iona at the car, and there is Jeb looking at this new fake parking ticket and smiling at VV and then putting it on the front of the vehicle, hiding the crack in the windscreen that has happened from hitting the vending machine earlier. That's going to be expensive. And as you turn back around, you are looking into the office of Silo 74, this bubble window, and they're inside. There are two Zeebs rummaging through cabinets.

They have not seen you yet. The microphone button on the inside has not been pressed, so they don't actually hear you at all, but they could turn around at any point, so it's up to you if you want to stay there in plain sight. Is there a hole in the glass like you are at a ticket booth? No, there is a pull draw for that function. OK, like in a gas station? Or a bank. Or a bank that is way better. Yes, like in a bank.

Well, everyone, but stay low for the moment if you can hear me, Jeb. Yeah, get to stay low. OK, I'll roll still for you. No problem. 20 good. Yes, Jeb does a great job. Yes, Jade 15 excellent, does a great job. Vendel rolls also above 15. VV rolls in 18 and we're just waiting to see if Retro is quiet. 17. Yes. You all roll over 15 and you are not noticed. The door to the front of this building isn't locked, it's just wedged shut. So we just got to push real hard then. Oh, yeah.

But should we, should we make a plan or something like that? I don't assume that those are the only Zeves in this facility. All right, let's let's pull the mirror trick again. I'm head over the door. Raw. Perception, Get my little my little mirror underneath there. Perception 19 Yes, you get to look into the room and you see that there are two Zebs in this room. They are not looking at the door.

There's one facing a wall looking at a promotional sign on the right side, and on the left side of the room there is one facing a vending machine and sort of slack jawed, not really understanding what he's looking at. Little out of his rocker. And he's got one of those portable handheld game consoles as a face. Ah, yes, Z boy. All right, there's two in there. They're not looking at the door, so the.

Other thing you see in this room is the door to the right that leads to the room you were just looking in. So the door to that room is closed currently. Just here on the right so we could get 2. Like there's two of them in there. We get two of our quietest to go in there. No Bang Bang jab. No Bang Bang. All the other doors are closed so far. So if we're. Quiet about it and probably do it. I assume you might want to.

Yeah. Once we take them out, we probably want to like barricade the other doors that we're not going into with the furniture. So in case that they do try to use the doors, I don't know if they can use doors. Can they use doors? I don't think we've seen them use doors. Better not risk it so. They got in here so. Yeah, so who are, who are our most quiet? I mean, Vandel's obviously #1. Well, Vivi beats people to death with a bat, so probably that. I'm fast. I could get there really fast

with speed. I can skate feet in and fuck him up. Yeah, so Fendale and Vivi. OK. OK. Then as soon as we do that, everybody else, we grab furniture and block the doors. All right, We're not going to go through. OK, good plan. Good plan. Yeah. Yeah, great plan. Am I sketching or is there not enough space for that? You sketch all over whoever you need to sketch on. Is that the same as? Is that the same as stitching 'cause if it's the same as stitching, then no, we don't. We don't snatch.

No, no, it's when you hold on to the back of a vehicle to go fast 'cause you're on like roller skates or a skateboard. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Then, then yeah. You sketch. You sketch all you want. OK, so Vivi, are you you, are you hoverboarding in here? Are we doing cool cool, cool people stuff? Should we, should we fling both of you in there? We could do that. Fling us in there.

Yeah. So like you could hold Jabin Retro's hands and then they pull from as far back as they can and they they pull you forward as fast as they can and you get a little boost. Oh yeah, like that ancient toy that nomads use? Jeb, What's that called? No, no, it's not like any of that. No, you're all wrong, baby. It's like roller Derby. We're going to get whipped. Oh. Whipped, yes. When you put it that way, I'm in. Hell yeah. I mean, hell yeah. All right, I'll open the door.

Jeb Retro, if you could whip them. I think we're good. I. Suppose I could quip. Yeah, Yeah, we could do that. All right, I'm going to go in and then I'm going to attack the guy on what do you want, left or right, Vivi? I'll take left. All right, I'll take right we ready. Yeah. What are we rolling though? That's up to you. Oh. OK. I pull out my hoverboard since I don't have skates and yeah. Hell yeah. Get ready to go in. Let's go, baby. On the count of 312.

Three, and we'll handle it. Open the door and. We'll handle it sick. That's pretty good. That's. Pretty good about it. Jeb is whipping VV and he does a really good job in his vampire costume, even creating a little bit of a whoosh with his Cape. As they get pushed forward, they slide into the room towards this guy. That is definitely enough. Animal Handling rolling at 20 is enough for you to reach the Zeve in that room. VB, you are all the way behind him and with 23 on Education Retro.

Your years of watching roller Derby have taught you how to do this almost perfectly. You are literally one point away from a perfect whip, but it's one of the best you've ever seen and you've watched a lot of roller Derby and Vendel gets chucked to behind the Zeve in this room so. It's all the torque in the shoulder. Vivi and Vendel are now parallel in this room as they've glided silently behind these two enemies, and Vendel gives Vivi a look 3. 21 go. OK, let's go.

And Vendel pulls out their glass sword and attacks this guy from behind, doing essentially a surprise attack on this Zeve, causing genuinely more, I think more health than me. That's. A lot of oh shit, that's. A lot of damage. A lot of damage. There's a lot. It's close. Doesn't explode. Does not explode, but it is still 24 damage. Damn. Yeah, so they go below half health. Oh yeah, fully torn their one of their leg muscles and this Zeve

falls to the ground in pain. Vendell grabs their hand and puts it right over the mouth area and keeps their mouth shut, keeping them silent in the corner. I'm going to have to have them roll a brawling check to keep this guy quiet. Vivi, please roll something to attack this guy on the other side. Vivi pulls out her baseball bat and gets ready to smack him right in the head. 19, yes, good enough or doing great does 19

damage in total. Yeah, so that is -19 damage also goes below half health and that guy, maybe we have a problem. I rolled foreign object and as you hit this guy, the end of your baseball bat gets stuck in his back and it is now stuck in the body of this eve. He look at you, turn him around with the baseball bat. You do have another melee attack, but you can't use the bat. So you have a choice. You can use your second melee attack to pull it out of this guy, or you can use a different

weapon as a melee. I shut up, shut up. I try to pull the baseball bat, it's not working and so VV quickly goes into her side and pulls out. I still have a stun baton actually. Oh shit. So I'm going to try to hit it with my stun baton. Amazing. Yeah. Plus my melee weapon plus 9/18. Oh that's a really good roll. Yes. You roll 18, filling this Zeve with electricity as he lightly groans and singers force the ground. You've caused 7 damage, which is you've got a six and a one.

You got the top and the bottom of that. Nice, it's amazing. But you also it's 7 plus five. So that's. 12. ZAP, this guy full of energy. He's still up though. Retro. You're also in the room. You see that VV has taken down most of this guy's health. He is about to make some noise. Vendel gets their second attack on the other's eve. Get you out. Oh. I got you on it's roll brawling. You did roll brawling.

That was to stop them from moving, yes. 15 was good enough to keep them silent, but I need to know how you're hurting them. How am I hurting them? Am I hurting then? With your words. No, I'm I'll just I'll I'll just do a a necktie. I'm looking at Iona. I don't want to be looking at Iona. I was like, these stats don't seem right. I. Don't know, just. Kidding, I'm rolling brawling to snap them. Oh wow. OK. It's. 1515 That's not bad I rolled A2.

He does not defend at all and unfortunately this guy's neck is snapped. The moment that happens though the others Eves the others Eve in the room perks up and Jeb. The pitch is slightly different here, it's not stronger or weaker, it's just the tone annoys you more and you cover both of your ears in this room as it starts to just just kind of grate a little bit on you and you can see the Zev underneath Vendel start to try and come back to life.

Oh try come back to life, fuck. Yeah, we got to find that, but. Where's the noise coming from? I mean, it's in both of my ears, so I guess directly you have. Exceptions to see if you can work it out. Oh. OK. 20 Yes, it's coming from the bathroom. Yep. Oh, it's coming from the bathroom, which is the door to the east, South. There's two of them to the South, but it's the one to the southeast. If this was the bathroom, that'd be a problem. It could have been this though.

No, it couldn't. You've been here before. That leads down into where they have all the samples and stuff. Right, I do have a photographic memory I'm rolling down. I'm kicking down the door to the bathroom. All right, roll brawling. Oh. Whoa. Whoa, that's really good. Yes, when you kick the door open, someone hid a really expensive lighter on the top of the door and it falls down and lands in your hand. It's worth about 50 eddies. Oh, all right. Don't mind if I do, you know.

And it's Halloween themed. It's covered in skulls. It's really cool. That is pretty cool. Hold on to that. Problem is there are 4 stalls in here so. Oh, I know what I'll do. They're all lined up in a in a line, so let me just move. Oops, close the door on an accident. Don't worry about that. Well, no worries. I'm just going to stand right here and shoot. Through. All of them, and let's see what happens. Did you shoot? Yeah. Who's not there? I. Thought we had a rule.

Oh, are we not all right? No shooting Jasmine's Day. That's amazing. Unfortunately, this is time to point red and those walls are actually pretty tough and they definitely have more than 7 HP so it doesn't even go through the first door. Man, they, they no expense on these on these. Like each of them have at least 10 HP, so in order to hit into even the second stall you would need to roll more than 20 damage. Yeah, rules. Rules rule. Well, I gave it a shot. Anyone else?

You have two shots. Oh, right, quite. Literally. So I walk over to the next one and then shoot that one. You're just going to shoot through the you're not going to open it, you're just going to shoot. No, I'm just going to shoot. So you go over to the second stall and you shoot through the door, rolling again. Terrible on damage. Like genuinely bad. That's a 3A1 and A2. This is all the low rolls. You do however hear as the bullet goes through the the door a little bit.

A squelchy noise of flesh and you can smell blood in the air. Now, not a lot. You've not done a lot of damage to whatever was on the other side of that door. You do not know yet, but it has received damage. OK, OK, I heard a squelch. It is French rose tone, yes. What? The hell are you doing? I know, I know. I I just forgot. And then I figured, well, I'm in this deep, might as well keep shooting, you know? Keep moving to the office. Why? Why are you shooting in here?

Well. Because this is where the, this is where the the transceivers is, right? I mean, so we got to kill, kill that one and then the other ones died. I thought we figured it out already. Retro drops down under their belly so they can see under the stalls. Do I see which stall it's in? Yeah, it's in two. I take a shot are. You going to play the legs? Yeah, OK. If I could see it, I don't have anything blocking me. 24, yes. That's also exploding, Sir.

Roll a 27 crit as you blow a hole through both of the Zeb's legs. He the door flies open as he dies he falls towards Jeb. Jeb roll invasion to not get covered by this Zeb 23 Yes you manage to step out of the way as it falls forward out of the stall and face first into the sink. The other Zeb's in the building that you see drop to the floor and foam at the mouth as they die, as they lose their connection to whatever they're

connected. To and there we go from solved mission accomplished anyway, what were you doing here we're. Getting the sample. Well, at least you know they can die of lead poisoning. In the silence, not having these things breathe, scratch around, etcetera, you hear an echo through the hallway that leads down into the storage basement where they've stored body fuel, bite, a bunch of other biotechnical biotechnica technologies. And in that hallway, you can hear a nasal voice calling out

what? Happened. We don't recognize. Do we recognize the voice? It's who the hell are you? Roll roll streetwise perception or something to wreck to see if you recognize the voice. It has been a while. 20 yes. Oh no, you wouldn't notice because you've never met this person before. OK. It's in All in all fairness. Yep, that's makes sense. And you've not met this person. Retro has met this person and has rolled in 18 and they know exactly who it is. That is the voice of Steve 0.

Steve 0 As your creations forget to breathe, what the fuck are you doing outside of the bar? You say to yourself. You're not in the hallway though, so you don't know if he hears you. That's a fairpoint. I've said that only to myself, and I realized shit, that would have been a good line to say to him if I saw him all right when we found these. Hallway. Where, where? Which hallway? I heard it but I don't know where. Follow me. All right. The door engage protocol. Sticky fingers.

The door that you come up, you come up against the door, which normally is a keypad you have to put in, but it's open. You find it easy to open. Someone has got in here. That's strange. Usually our security is a little tighter than that, but that's not my job. Yeah, let's not bring up your company's security. All right, that's enough of that. Hey, you tell you tell me. All right? How many of these silos have we had to go and overtake because

of a security issue? These these silos, no, we've had to go to facilities in which there were experiments happening, but the storage silos, we've only been in this one and it's. Just were we in another one? You know, you're thinking of the the junkyard thing or, or maybe when we went to the the the Badland Beast facility, but this is neither of those places. It's becoming it's it's more than two times. This is our third time visiting here I think. I don't remember well.

I've been gas lid out of the other one so I don't know. Yeah, could be, yeah. You come up against the wall. As well. It is also unlocked. And as you step inside, there are two Zeves in here dead on the ground. And there's Zeve that's standing in front of the computer is flopped over the chair with a tile in his lap that is on loudspeaker. Did you get it? Did you We need? More of. The the compound. And I need you to get the formula Zeve. I hang up. Answer me.

Next time on no latency. Why'd you do that? I panicked. Can you still like trace it? I love stealing. It's it's one of the things I'm good at. This Steve 0 what's What's his deal? We made a mistake and we we grow and we learn. And everybody makes mistakes. Person starts OK. Yeah, but I forgot about that, I yelled. Wow, you really pop that one off all. Right, OK, We're, we're coming, we're coming. Don't move.

Don't move too much. Oh man, this is going to be a rough one to patch up. Yeah, man, I I exploded a little early down there. I'm sorry about that. Do you know what that's called? The little bumps in the side of a shipping container. You really got a leg over that. Probably also booby trapped. Depression here in the floor, which I assume is another booby trap. Jebbs obviously the fastest one of us here. Oh, the line of syringes. Oh man. Sounds like some superhero moves right there.

Vendel what? Kind of mad crazy scientists would do that. Oh my gosh, Jeb. Thank you for joining us on our adventure once again here at No Latency. Don't forget to follow us on Twitter at No Latency Pod. Check out our website at
