Episode description

Amy Patee Colvin, author of Cultivating Compassion: Simple Everyday Practices for Discovering Peace of Mind and Resilience joins Sarah Boxx in a discussion of her path from leaving a corporate job to studying and becoming certified to teach Compassion Cultivation Training. She talks about the three pillars of Daoism which are compassion, humility, and moderation and how they influence her life. And, how she learned during an encounter with a shaman at Machu Pichu that she would return within two, this time leading a group of others.

“It was a very self-compassionate act to all of a sudden have that epiphany: the kindest thing you can do for yourself is to just get in the mud, and go play and learn something new; because that's what needs to be done.

“Stop dancing around the edges of it and just go dive in.”
