Dr.Travers & The Trans Generation - No Fun City Podcast - Episode 20 Dr. Travers is a Professor of Sociology at Simon Fraser University.  Their recent book, The Trans Generation: How Trans Kids (and Their Parents) Are Creating a Gender Revolution, situates trans kids in Canada and the US, white settler nations characterized by significant social inequality. In addition to a central research focus on transgender children and youth, Travers has published extensively on the relationship between sport and social justice, with particular emphasis on the inclusion and exclusion of women, queer and trans people of all ages. Travers is undertaking a new area of research as leader of a research team focusing on electric micro-mobilities in the context of urban and transportation planning and mobility justice. Travers is a youth baseball coach, rides a KS18XL and Veteran Sherman whenever they possibly can. Travers identifies as trans non-binary, uses the pronouns they/them/their, and lives with their partner, two kids, and two dogs in Vancouver, BC.
