happy New Year everybody . Here we are , the first teaser of the show in 2024 . And one of us have shown up for the show . The other one , is a little . He's looking a little rough , you guys , little peeked . He it's , it's , it's bad . So you're thankful if you're actually watching us on YouTube . You're glad that you're not looking at Mark's mug right now .
Let's just be honest about that .
Yeah , I have . I tangled with some pretty rough health here .
Yeah , he's in bad shape , so yeah , but that's okay . You're going to be on the men soon . We're going to recover , he's working on recovery and in the meantime , we wanted just to check in with you guys and give you a couple quick updates about our show and what's coming down the pike starting next week .
First off , we hit our benchmark of for the end of the year . Our goal was to get 5000 subscribers by the end of the year , and I got to be telling you all thank you so much because we did meet that . We actually went over that a number , and that makes us so happy because it's just all of you guys that have made that a possibility .

We've got a lot of good shows coming down . A couple of quick highlights for you . Some things we're going to be talking about First off finances , financial future here .
What are we looking at in 24 ? What are some of the things that we should be looking out for ? How could the election potentially impact us ? How is the economy looking ?
What are things that we should be doing as consumers , savers , investors we're going to have a special guest on to talk just about that , to hopefully give us all some insight on all of that fun stuff . Hopefully we've got the GOP primaries also coming in Kicking off in Iowa this month .
We'll be talking about some of that as well , giving a little take on what we're hearing from some of the folks we know that are working on those campaigns and just kind of checking in to see where we stand as those primaries go into New Hampshire and into South Carolina , just kind of the things .
This could be a really short season .
We'll see how it goes , because I was going to be critical in the respect that if hold on , let me just get my shot up , there we go , that's a really good article in the respect that if Trump rolls , you know and this thing could be wrapped up really quickly , or , you know , if something happens , we'll just have to wait and see .
But we have some good people to come talk about that . And Christy mentioned the financial stuff trying to get a look ahead to give you an idea of what you can plan for Like is there anything ? Is there any way we could try to figure out what's going on with this economy ?
Because I think everybody feels the pinch , but the question is where does it go so and where's it headed now ? Yeah , absolutely .
Are we going to see any relief soon ? Also , things that we'll be covering is local state legislative session that kicks off in the middle of January , as most of you know .
We're going to be talking a little bit about what are some of those things that we can expect to be happening in that session , what are some of the things that we were hoping that would happen in that session , and kind of just give you some updates as those come along and talk to some folks who are actually there and can give us some information about what
they're seeing and hearing in that area as well . And another thing I'm really personally interested in is our brain health . I've been kind of at this now for a couple of months and researching a little bit of what they're saying how sugar is impacting our memory now and how it's . You know , obviously type two diabetes is on the increase on a national scale .
So what do we do Like ? Where do we go with that ? What are experts saying ? How are we looking at curbing type two diabetes ? How do we curb ? Now they're saying that even the sugar can not only impact our memory but could be helping , lead into , not helping but could be leading us into early stage Alzheimer's . What are the experts saying about that ?
I've taken it as a personal home study kind of thing to be looking into things and we're going to be talking about health and what we can all be doing to make sure we're taking care of ourselves a little bit better in 24 , because I think we all need it . And my husband , who's not here as you can see this picture , is a major sugar addict .
Again , I'm here .
I'm just not in my seat Right . I'm in the producer's seat right now . By the way , things going flawlessly , producing .
Oh yeah , flawlessly , I'm just saying so if we want to just continue , a show , captain , you can just sit over there .
I have no idea what you're saying , which is nice and it's . I'm just you're talking away and I'm not paying any attention .
Oh , it's like life , it's a normal life , right , and ?
while I'm trying to punch the show and do this . So it's kind of a it's kind of a . It's kind of a battle . But one other thing that's kind of interesting is that we spend some time on the road and , again , our first big show back will be on Monday and we'll have a full show for you then .
So this will be very brief , but I know how much you love the JFK situation , and a pretty good find on that If you love that history and if you're not buying what happened .
Right , I mean I . Anybody that know has known me for the last 25 years has known my obsession and it is an obsession with the JFK assassination . I have never believed that Oswald was either involved or acted alone . I've never believed in the single bullet theory . I've always thought that was just total garbage .
I know some people don't care , but as a as a college freshman , I got really interested in the subject . We stumbled across this Rob Reiner podcast when we were on a road trip going up to Colorado for Christmas . It's really good . It's actually new information that I'd never heard of before .
It's several series , several episodes in the series and it's not done yet , so it's still kind of in . You know there's a new episode that comes out every week , but it's interesting because they're releasing new information . They're releasing documents that they have not been talked about before , at least as far as I had heard .
They're naming names and he really is pretty bold . Rob Reiner has been pretty bold in saying Oswald not only wasn't the shooter , he wasn't even involved , and I have said this , I've screamed this as loud as I can for many years .
My family is not nearly as interested in this topic as I am , but I did a poll mark in on this podcast which , although Rob Reiner is various , he's put politics incredibly differently than Mark and I do .
Why , but still you know , but he's a great storyteller . He was a great , yeah , and there's some of this that you may have some you know the quibble with some of his framing of some things . There's , there's no doubt , but it is still an interesting story . And the thing that makes it most interesting is they're about to release , I think , episode nine or 10 .
And in that they will name who they think fired the bullets , and there are obviously at least two shooters in Oswald not being one of them .
Right .
So that that's what it'll be . It's fascinating , so if you get a chance to check it out , it is worth doing . We definitely found it to be really interesting .
