¶ Episode Introduction
Three everybody .
You and I are told increasingly we have to choose between a left or right . Well , I'd like to suggest there is no such thing as a left or right . There's only an up or down .
This is the no Doubt About it . Podcast .
No doubt about it . No doubt about it .
Now your hosts , christy and Mark . Runcate Wildfire , you can't catch us now . Running , running , running . Yeah , I'll get over , hello .
Hello .
You giving me the tip of the cap .
I am , I'm giving you the tip of the cap , sir . This is , I have to say , just getting right into this . Yeah , this is gonna be an infuriating show .
Okay , great I don't know . That's what we're here to do . We're here to get your blood boiling on a happy sunday . You're welcome , everybody .
It's it's valuable to know some of what's happening here , and and we will share some of that not it really won't be infuriating , but but this is stuff you are going to want to know , and I think , as we were going through the show and putting it together , I think you just realize a real trend of something we talked about a long time ago here and we've
been trumpeting this message , and that is that the immigration message was going to be World War III between the Trump administration and conservatives and a good portion of the country a majority of the country , I would argue that say OK , we could not continue the way we were going , and then an opposition that , basically , is now doing some very interesting things .
I didn't think they'd stand up for some of the people they're standing up for , but they're making this argument on due process , on everything , and what you'll see is there's just some real disingenuousness to a lot of what's happening here , and so it's important to talk about . We're going to go through it in depth .
It's going to be what we're going to do right off the top , after we do a couple of quick things , but it's something you're going to want to see because , again , this issue is one that is going to swallow everything up . I know tariffs have done that initially . I think that's kind of starting to settle itself out . We'll see what happens on that .
That's a huge concern for the Trump administration . They don't figure it out . They're in real trouble right . You don't get the economy figured out , you don't know . So we're going to go through a bunch of these things . We're going to go through polling that initially you'd look at some polling like , oh my gosh , this is terrible news .
And then you dig into the polling and and again , I'm one of those people who believes polling can be really valuable , but not if it's phony . Right , there's two types of polling . There's polling where you want a result , and so you go and you poll that way because you want to get a result .
Or there's polling because you want to get information right , and I've been part of both . Right , I've been part of polling where you want information . You just want to know where the voters are . Or you want the voters to come up with something so that you can go trumpet it . Yeah , and that's what's happening right now . So we'll get into all that .
It's interesting stuff , but I think you're going to get .
I can already tell you're going to be very fiery today , and for very good reason I tend to get fiery , especially when , uh , I feel like the media aren't doing a great job at trying to just keep things fair and balanced , which is what I think that we need to be seeing .
Wait , the media is things fair and balanced , which is what I think that we need to be seeing .
Wait , the media is not fair and balanced .
No , in general . No , they're not . Okay , they're not . So this hints the reason we started this whole show . So , yes , we will get right to that . But we have to talk about some fun things really fast before , because our daughter celebrated her final prom , her senior prom last night .
This is it .
Huh , this was it wrapping it up look , there's you and her getting , I guess , ready . I'm not sure I was getting the prom venue situated correct .
Yeah , and so I was . Um . Well , I did nothing . Really , you really didn't .
Ella helped me put my shoes on ella's friend helped attach my nails , they helped me put my dress on and then I walked downstairs and he was like , are you ready ? And I was like yep . And then no , he gave you a corsage that immediately broke . He did . The corsage did fall apart instantaneously , but that's okay . It was a really fun dance .
The theme was Japanese garden party . Yeah , you can see the umbrellas we hung up upside down .
I just thought that's such a pretty dress on you , abe and you . This is you and your friend Brody . Just , you guys do like this grand entrance style , kind of pridejudice style , that the school does . I love watching we all the moms that go and help put this whole thing together .
We love that there is a teacher there Her name is Mrs Sowers and she actually teaches all these kids dances that look very similar to Pride and Prejudice and then the kids do all these big group numbers and it gets them all engaged
¶ Immigration Media Coverage Issues
, all on the dance floor , which at our prom that wasn't really the case . No , and I love that . This school you don't go with a date necessarily . You go and have fun and you go and do the dancing and then we feed them a fun meal and we even do really fun .
Every year . I feel like the themes get better . They're always really good . And then the next year we have more material to use and and and a better theme , and it always ends up working out well . And the funny thing is that you like you can't leave . She did make an announcement before .
She's like guys , you do not need to leave to go to the bathroom or get food in the middle of the dance . You stay here because you have to dance . Yeah , there's dance cards .
So she'll say pull out your dance card and every after every dance the guys are pulling up this like note card and it says who they have to dance the next number with and then they it's part of the deal that they go over and they have to ask the girl to dance and then they have to thank the dance , thank them for afterwards .
There was a lot of parents that did show up and the women and they dance with their sons for final senior dance . And it was just .
I mean , I have to say , if I did get a little teary eyed in moments and I'd love being a part of the prom committee and now I'll do it for Ella now for the next two years , but it was kind of a bittersweet last night for Ava .
Oh yeah , you know , and it is weird , I have definitely over the past couple of weeks it's kind of hit me that Ava's going to school in August and that is not going to be the easiest thing in the world .
And she's also going to leave us for a month before then to go to .
Africa , africa for a mission trip , yeah , so she's leaving like right after graduation , so we're not cool Ava .
We're excited for you .
What are you guys going to do without your producer ? Have you seen Dad produce ? It's rough , it's rough .
I'm not sure Ellen's too busy for us .
We'll trick Ellen into doing it . We'll see what happens , ava . Congratulations . Way to get through that , believe me .
You looked beautiful last night , Abe .
This summer will . Summer will go by too quickly , so I can't start getting the clamped on this right now .
Please don't start crying right now . Cause .
I literally .
I literally broke down last night at prom and had to try to keep it .
try to hold it together through the rest of the show . Okay , All right .
Don't worry , it's spicy enough , so we will have no problem doing that . Okay , our first comment . I just wanted to say this one I regards to the bet that me and Mark made about the mayor's race , and I said well , I said that I believe that our governor will come out and publicly throw her arms around a certain particular individual .
You said that she will not do that publicly , that she will not endorse . She will not endorse . I think she will . She's not Okay . I think she will , michelle , and I know you don't watch this , but don't endorse .
You know this . She's not a rookie , she's not Okay . I think she will , michelle , and I know you don't watch this , but don't endorse . You know this . She's not a rookie , she's not going to Michelle .
Michelle , I need you to endorse because I have a bet with Mark and so that's really important to me , and Michelle does care what we think .
I mean she's a big fan .
She's a huge fan of the Ron Kenney's don't don't you think Especially me . She loves me too . Uh but don't worry about that , because here's the deal .
Yeah .
Debra has a great idea , cause remember you said well what do I win ?
And I said what do I win ?
You know when I win this , Debra came up with a solution for us . She said when Christie is right about the mayor's race , mark should get her a new chair . Duck tape free new chair .
I you know what .
I like it . I like it too . It's done . You got a deal , so you're saying I'm going to have my duct tape chair forever , aren't you ? Yes ?
I'm not even worried about it . Yeah , so sounds good , debra , we'll do that . It's not going to happen , all right . Number two I love this email . Actually I thought it was really interesting , or comment , I think it was on YouTube and I always love comments . That where we kind of either disagree , you know normal but but suzanne really said something interesting .
She said I disagree about campaign signs and billboards , but there needs to be a catchphrase . No one sees tv ads anymore since streaming services and social media . No one knew mark as anything but the weather man and I couldn't get anyone to watch debates where you showed you know your chit , uh in your face .
Ads signs spark curiosity , force people to do more research If they vote on policy and not career politicians . I think a really interesting point right now .
I disagree with Suzanne and large measure on this stuff for a couple of reasons , but I but I love the thought process on this because she's absolutely right on debates , the debate numbers you just everybody thinks , oh my gosh , elections turn on debates . No , they don't trust me .
Not enough people .
Yeah , right , no , no , no , that's right , that's right . Unless something catastrophic happens in the debate . It's not even people seeing the debate , it's them seeing a little clip after .
So if you're an incumbent or you're somebody who , who thinks they're in good position in the state of New Mexico which in most cases , if you're a Democrat in the state of New Mexico , you got a 15 point registration advantage . You know that unless you do something really bad . You know now those things have happened . People have screwed up .
You mentioned Biden . Someone by the name of Patricia Madrid at one point , during a debate against Heather Wilson in a congressional race , froze up , which was too bad . It's always . I never liked seeing people have those situations where they kind of just have a like Rick Perry when he just melted down .
Right , when you melt down , things can change in a debate . But , Suzanne , you're right about that , I totally agree with you . Not enough people saw our gubernatorial debate or our Senate debates . They went very well for us , but it doesn't matter , right ? So either way , whatever , I totally agree with you on that .
Now , the reason I disagree on signs is because in most cases , signs do nothing other than say your name . Okay , Really , that's really all they do , and I agree with you on . You'd love to have some slogan that makes it interesting , but this is not .
You know , politics isn't marketing and there are people that get into marketing and think you can start to market things like you do in , like you're . You're selling peanut butter , right ? No ?
like the Sam Bregman ad , political ad basically is very market , very slick marketing , kind of with the cowboy .
Yeah , I guess I mean yeah , that's more like Halloween , but yeah so . But my point is in all this is that that in a situation like that , billboards don't really send a message of any kind . They don't work . Campaign signs don't work . Like I couldn't have put something on a campaign sign , you know , whatever it would be , they don't work .
Now , Now TV ads . She mentions streaming . Well , this is what you don't know . You can now buy streaming . You can buy Hulu , you buy all these things . It's called OTT . You can , you can get right into people's homes with it , and that's what we do . You do that too . So you do the normal TV ads , and in New Mexico , TV ads still work . They do .
They still move people . And then going over the top and getting into people's homes through streaming apps like Hulu , that happens too . So all that stuff happens . Digital ads happen . They all happen . Right , they all work together . But by and large , I love where Suzanne was coming from with this . I think it made a lot of sense .
We don't agree on all of it and I can tell you through fact science , I could never have bought . I remember going through the primaries . We didn't even buy a single sign and you would see signs from our opponents all over the place and we'd get calls like you guys are going to lose , you guys are going to lose .
And then you know you'd look at it and be like , no , we're not , and , honestly , as a spouse watching all this and somebody who has a marketing background , right , so I had 21 years of marketing and I'm pushing signs , I'm pushing bumper stickers , I'm ready to go .
And you know the team , which was tiny and we were very frugal with any money that came in because we needed to save it for message to get message points out . Um , and I was very like , come on , we need some signs . We got to get science going , um , and then that's the whole famous fight with me and Jay McCleskey is signs don't win elections .
This is his argument . Um , I do think that it helps with getting people to know that you're in the race . I do agree that with with her comment on it does . And I kind of think that the billboards can work to some degree . They can help you . You can't lean on them .
The problem is and a lot of people don't know this billboards are really expensive for what you get . So you , you , you have to be careful with your money and where you place your money , and so there's a lot of strategy behind it . We won't bore you with all the details on that , but it is . Where do you hit the points the most ?
And really I know this is just I have to say it , because Jay really did help educate me on this too is that you're hoping to get your point across to a voter at least seven times , and it takes a long time to get to that seven times .
So , whether you meet them with digital ad , if you meet them on a social media platform , if you meet them with a print ad , if you meet them with a mailer , those kind of things , but so it's just kind of interesting .
Right , but I would argue , then you're not getting a point across with a sign and you're not getting a point across with a billboard . You're not . You're saying a name , that's it .
I'm saying in this day and age . And I was very big on streaming . Remember , I pushed us to do ads on streaming because is where the younger voter is now . This is where the , this is where a lot of thank you I know it's incredible the stuff you were bringing up .
It was unreal , okay , I love it , I get it I understand . No , no , you're digit like I agree you , you definitely push for digital and and that's absolutely . You're absolutely right on that . I would just say that the sign stuff is it doesn't work . So okay .
Well , I might agree a little bit with a person that wrote in no , I think suzanne did a good job .
Thanks very much . I'm a little bit on team , suzanne , as well , no , I understand , and she's absolutely right on debates . I mean , unless something , unless something goes super off the rails , right , like you show up and you don't know how to speak about the issues at all , then you're done Like debates will finish you . They finished Biden . Right , we saw it .
You're absolutely right on that .
But as a debate coach and somebody who used to be debate . I'm telling you , you crushed debate . You did great and I do . I wish more people had been able to see it .
I think we did a good job getting the clips out and stuff , but still , like it's still , one of my favorite moments in your campaign history is because that is where people should want to see where the candidates stand on the issues they got to tune in though . And they do have to tune in and I think it was really .
You showed very clearly the differences between you and Michelle on that platform and it was day and night and same with the Senate race . But again , you know , does it move the needle ? All right , Talk about moving the needle . Are the media ever going to move their needle to actually start telling us any sort of truth ? Have they not learned ?
Well , so let's get into this . It is an ugly media situation out there right now and this is one of those things .
And again we talked about the fact that I thought and you thought and we had said on this show we talked to Jay about it , we talked to Mike Garofalo about this that the biggest issue in the first , you know probably year of the Trump administration would be immigration would be , because it was going to blow up .
And what happened was tariffs blew up first , and now they're kind of trying to reposition tariffs right and then now immigration is blowing back up again .
So if you start looking at headlines across the country , you're starting to see some amazing stuff here and what you're seeing is the media once again pairing up with their partners on the left and trying to force a narrative . So NBC News starts to push out this headline .
Over the past couple of days , two-year-old US citizen apparently deported Apparently , by the way , apparently .
They don't know , but okay , apparently I'm waiting for allegedly to come up next yeah exactly With no meaningful process .
Judge says , okay , that's one of them . Ap comes out with another one and here's their headline . It says ICE ice supports immigrant mother of an infant and three children who are us citizens . Lawyers say , okay , this is just like what did the lawyers say , well , let's just put it out there then .
Right , okay , I'm going to read you the first paragraph of this AP story and what it's going to show you is something interesting .
So you have and as parents and as many of you watching , as parents , if you had come to this country illegally , okay , and you're like , hey , I'm like , I want a better life , I'm coming all the the in the best possible scenario , right , and you get here and you have kids , and then it turns out you have to abide by the law and go back to your , your
country of origin . Would you say to the kids , kids , you stay here , I'm moving on , I'm going to leave my three-year-old kid ? Of course not . You take your child with you , you know ? I mean , that's how that goes , or at least you're given the option which these families have been given , the option . So just listen to this Now .
Whatever option you choose , whether the child stays or goes , trump bad , trump bad , no matter what .
Yeah , no matter what happens .
Trump bad if family stays together . Trump bad if family is separated . Yeah , right , okay . So here we go . Harrisburg , pennsylvania , immigration and Customs Enforcement officers have in recent days deported a Cuban-born mother of a one-year-old girl , separating them indefinitely . Now , of course the girl could go right back to Cuba and be with her mom .
Yeah , definitely . Now , of course the girl could could go right back to Cuba and be with her mom . However they choose to work that out , maybe the dad stay . I just don't know . Ok , you don't know in these situations because they don't give you enough detail .
Now the back half of the sentence and three children ages two , four and seven , who are US citizens , along with their Honduran born mothers . Lawyers say on Saturday , meaning the children two , four and seven stayed with their mothers and they got deported . Ok , so they stay with mom and get deported .
Trump bad , yeah , they separate and mom goes back , but child gets to stay as an American . Trump bad , yeah , right , I mean . So it's also . You're like oh , wait a minute , what's going on here and how is this even happening ? Albuquerque Journal on Sunday let's keep it all going . Here we go . Ice Deports mother of one-year-old girl .
Same story we're talking about , right , here we go and the same story . So what in the world is happening here ? So Marco Rubio gets on today with Meet the Press and Kristen Welker , and he lays it out just perfectly as he starts to push back .
And again , this whole first segment is about a media narrative trying to either bring people back into this country who have committed violent crimes , which is crazy , or give people the benefit of the doubt that are trying to help break the law , which is amazing . But here is Rubio .
Like on the headline . That's a misleading headline . Ok , three US citizens ages four , seven and two were not deported . Their mothers , who are legally in this country , were deported . The children went with their mothers . Those children are US citizens . They can come back into the United States if there's their father or someone here who wants to assume them .
But ultimately , who was deported was their mother , their mothers , who were here illegally . The children just went with their mothers . But it wasn't like you guys make it sound like ICE agents kicked down the door and grabbed the two year old and threw him on an airplane . That's misleading . That's just not true .
Just to be clear , because I do want to get to the overhaul at the State Department Is it the US policy to deport children , even US citizens with their families and I hear what you're saying without due process ? Just to be very clear there . Well , no , no , no , no , no Again , if someone's in this country unlawfully , illegally , that person gets deported .
If that person is with a two-year-old child or has a two-year-old child , and says I want to take my child with you with me , well then what ? You have two choices . You can say yes , of course , you can take your child , whether they're a citizen or not , because it's your child .
Or you can say , yes , you can go , but your child must stay behind , and then your headlines would read US holding hostage two year old , four year old , seven year old , while mother deported . So the mother , the parents , make that choice . I imagine those three US citizen children have fathers here in the United States . They can stay with their father .
That's up to their family to decide where the children go . Children go with their parents . Parents decide where their children go . The US deported their mothers , who were illegally in America .
OK , brilliant stuff . Heads you win tails or heads you lose tails , I win Right . No matter what you choose . Here come the bad headlines . It doesn't matter and we talked about this forever that this was going to be the main fighting .
Well , and at least I mean , what was great about that interview , honestly , was Marco Rubio actually answered her question in the first statement that he said that it's like she wasn't paying attention . And she asks him again and he's like no , I just clarified this . I'll clarify it again for you , though , if you want me to .
So we are not deporting two-year-olds Like . That's not the job of the like . There , there is no trial for them .
Well , there's no due process in that . It's the parent's decision , right ? It isn't like the judge says well , you're going to stay here . It's not your call , judge , it's mom's call and it's dad's call . Yeah , that's it .
Yeah , so it's not . It's not get the bleeding hearts of Americans all fired up on the on the left side .
Well , yeah , and so I want to go . We're going to jump now , I'm going to , I'm going to get the next story , but I'm going to jump one story and go to this one . We're going to go to clip 15 . Okay , because it gets worse .
Okay , you've got these stories out there and remember what we , of course and we'll touch back on the Maryland man as well this is this MS-13 guy that has been shipped out to El Salvador . So we're going to go to clip 15 , and I want to go to this story out of Wisconsin . Okay , and this is the judge . It's Judge Hannah
¶ Judge Dugan Controversy
Dugan . Okay , there , she is right there . Okay , if you have not heard this story , you won't believe it when we share it . It's absolutely crazy . So she is a judge that had an illegal immigrant in front of her for a hearing and eventually supposed to be a trial . This is him , right here in all his glory . This is Eduardo Flores Ruiz .
Okay , here's what he's accused of . He apparently was . He's accused of being in an apartment with a roommate , his girlfriend and someone else . He gets in a fight with the roommate , hits him 30 times with a closed fist , beats the heck out of him . Okay , then he decides that he's going to beat up his girlfriend too and the other person in there .
So he's going in front of the judge , say you know what's , you know ? So the victims are in the courtroom . This guy in the courtroom facing charges in front of let's go back in front of the judge . This is our judge right here , judge Dugan .
Okay , so all of a sudden , judge Dugan sees that there are ICE agents in the courtroom or just outside the courtroom , because this guy's here illegally . So guess what ? You get shipped out facing charges of a violent crime . It's going to be shipped out . Well , judge Dugan decides oh no , he's not going anywhere . I'm going to try to help him .
That's not her job , not her job at all . So I want you to listen to what happened . As she sees everything playing out here , the judge goes berserk and it's going to end up landing her in jail for years for what she did . Ok , so Pam Bondi Talked about exactly what this judge did , and just listen to this .
If you have not heard this , I don't think you're going to be able to imagine a sitting judge doing this . But here goes .
So rare for victims to want to cooperate . They wanted to cooperate .
They were sitting in the courtroom with the state prosecutor .
The judge learns that ICE was outside to get the guy because he had been deported in 2013, . Came back in our country , commits these crimes . Charged with committing these crimes , victims in court . Judge finds out . She goes out in the hallway , screams at the immigration officers she's furious , visibly shaken upset . Sends them off to talk to the chief judge .
She comes back in the courtroom You're not going to believe this . Takes the defendant and the defense attorney back in her chambers , takes them out of private exit and tells them to leave , while a state prosecutor and victims of domestic violence are sitting in the courtroom .
Wow , unreal . I mean you want to talk about a threat to our judicial system . It is this judge . I mean there is also his defendant .
defending attorney . Yes , she belongs in jail too . I mean , there is no explanation for this . Also his defending attorney .
Yes , she belongs in jail too . I mean , that person is going to be in jail too .
She should have said we can't do this , judge , we cannot escape out of your courtroom into a back entrance and not face the penalty of his crime and then have to go see ICE right after right , right , no , but don't worry , cnn is there to back it up . Back up this judge .
So how do you back up the judge right ? So how do you do it ?
Trump bad Judge good .
Well , right , right , or what it is . So when you don't have the high ground , what do you argue on ? You argue on process . You say , oh , no , the process , okay . So Andrew McCabe , who's a CNN commentator , who was with the FBI , got blown out of there in less than glorious circumstances . So let's listen to what he says .
But even he admits at the very beginning this judge is toast . She's going to jail .
You know it's not an unreasonable complaint . There's plenty of evidence in the complaint to get you beyond the probable cause phase , which is where we are right now .
And I think when you start looking at how the judge was treated after the events that led to the charge so where and when and how she was arrested and the fact that she was arrested at the courthouse rather than her own residence , the fact that she was placed in a jail cell for hours before her arraignment was called in the court later in the afternoon these
things are unprecedented . Typically upstanding members of the community who have no criminal history and aren't accused of a violent act are allowed to self-surrender at the time of their arraignment .
The fact that they did not offer that courtesy to her and instead went out of their way to treat her harshly , I believe is an act of performative cruelty on behalf of the Department of Justice , which is not the way any Department of Justice should be acting .
Okay . What's unprecedented , mr McCabe , is not that she was marched out . That happens all the time in our legal system . We watch it every day with defendants all the time . What's unprecedented is a judge trying to sneak someone out of her quarters to make sure that they don't have to answer for the crimes they've committed .
That's unprecedented , dude , not what you're talking about . I mean this is ludicrous . I mean he's exactly wrong . This is the exact kind of thing we should have . When you have a judge who decides they're above the law , they should be publicly marched out there when they do something like this . This is ridiculous .
The rest of us would face these exact same things , not some special treatment . Let's keep it . Let's keep the judge . Let's treat her with a special kid gloves because she's such an upstanding member of the community .
Oh really , what upstanding member of the community says hi criminal who's been accused of beating up your girlfriend , let's sneak out here so you can get away from law enforcement . Accused of beating up your girlfriend , let's sneak out here so you can get away from law enforcement . We don't have a .
We do not have a judicial system if that's the way our judges act . What a clown comment from him .
It's ridiculous , yeah , and just even though the poor girl had to sit in a jail cell while she's waiting to be arraigned . Really , I feel like that's probably what happens ?
Yeah , you get used to the jail cell .
How about you don't commit a crime as a judge ? How about you do your job and then you don't put your life ?
on .
You know it's unbelievable , that defense so , um senator klobuchar , she had her comments about this right because we're going to come defense now for this judge here we go here , we go there .
It is , it's good , and again . So do we argue on the merits or do we argue on process , with her oh it's again .
It's going to be more process this , this is not normal , she said .
You're right . She's right on that . Her first line is right . This is not normal . You're right .
Judge the administration's arrest of a sitting judge in Wisconsin is a drastic move that threatens the rule of law .
Again one it does threaten the rule of law because of what the judge is doing , not because she's being arrested . Okay , next one .
While we don't have . This is a grave step and undermines our system of checks and balances . Yeah , checks and balances . We have a judge who's supposed to be holding criminals accountable in her courtroom , but no , let me just let you get out of jail for free over here . Come over this way . It's mind-boggling .
We should have put a little image from the Monopoly game up there for everybody . All I know , Okay now we have Senator Tina Smith , also from Minnesota .
They're electing them in Minnesota . It's got some good stuff .
We have Minnesota Debbie up there . I mean , I don't know what she's going to say about all this .
I don't know she voted for Tina Smith . I know she didn't vote for Tina Smith I can say that wholeheartedly . Um , hers is worse , by the way .
Yeah , she says , also condemned Dugan's arrest , stating if FBI director cash don't like a judge , they think they can arrest them . This is stunning . We must stand up to this blatant power grab Republicans . How is this not a red line for you ?
I don't know , if you lack basic intelligence , I'm thinking maybe she should not have the facts of the case .
Yeah , Like you know , she heard a judge got arrested for standing up for an illegal and she got arrested . Like that , like you get just a poor , a little tiny portion of the story and you don't have the full story , and then you go out on X and you make a fool out of yourself .
You know what . You're right on that , but if you're a sitting US senator and your staff doesn't give you the proper information , everyone those people in my Senate office would be fired . Yeah , I'd be like how could you let me walk out there and stick my head in a wood chipper and look like an idiot ?
When you go defend somebody who does something that is absolutely unprecedented . It's just not ICE doing it , it's not Trump doing it , it's not Patel doing it , it's not Bondi doing it . It is a judge who decided no , no , no , no , I'm going to do this my way , and she doesn't .
And , by the way , when she went and yelled at the ICE officers , she told them to go see this other judge so that they would leave and she could sneak them out .
That's how bad that was . It's so plodding . You know who's happy about this ? It is Judge Joel Cano from New Mexico .
It probably is , yeah .
Because it's taking a little heat off of him and his arrest here in New Mexico last week , with him and his wife being arrested for basically trying to destroy evidence to protect the Venezuelan gangs . Destroy evidence to protect the Venezuelan gangs . We all have heard the story by now . It has made national news .
It is a local judge here in New Mexico that basically was housing a member of MS-13 in his house .
How could we march the judge out with his wife in handcuffs ? Why would we ever do that ? Why ? Because they are helping out Tren Duragua , and so that's why he's being marched out . That's how it works in America , if you do these things , and and so again , if this is wrong , will he have recourse ? He'll have some recourse , there's no question .
But over the most , for the most part here , this is the kind of stuff . Now this story has not been jumped on as much you can see . They everybody's kind of backed off . The media has backed off this one a little bit , but but still , this all still fits into these examples .
Either they don't cover him very much , which is what happened with the Kano story , but with the Wisconsin story again , how could you go after this judge ? How could you do that ? How could you arrest her this way ? It absolutely is horrendous , and again and again .
Let's not forget the whole , the whole point of this . The reason that they're making her an example is like hey , don't pull this again . You keep pulling this . We will be doing , we will make sure that everybody knows that we're going to arrest you , and it's going to be a public arrest and like guess what ?
Just because you're a judge or a cop or a lawyer or whatever , you're not above the law . And I think that that is the clear sign that we need to be giving people . So you have to , you're not against . You're not against , you're not above the law . Yeah , I think that's the no , and they want to make the case .
They're like well , the case against her is strong , but she is above the law , right exactly . It's like okay , okay . And then you're , and again the media , she continues to churn , right , so the new york times they have a fresh headline yes , this is here 20 years later , deported back to a home he barely knew .
So this is , uh I'm gonna mess up this guy's name Nassitimo Blair . Yeah , he's from Jamaica . Yep , he was basically the story , the subject of the story on New York Times , and they said , oh , he's going to be shipped out of the country . Well , he was convicted in 2006 here in the US of kidnapping , right ? Okay .
So he went to jail for the kidnapping charge for 15 years , right , right . And now he's being deported , right . So we don't want to talk about the victims of who he kidnapped or his crime . We don't want to focus on that at all .
We just want to focus on the sob story of this guy that's been here for 21 years and now he's being deported , right , and they don't seem to want you to understand that for the last 15 years , the reason he hasn't been deported yet is because he's been spending time in prison for kidnapping .
Now , and then he goes out and says and the New York Times basically says he's turned his whole life around , da-da-da-da-da .
Oh , sob stories , yeah , okay , okay and again .
There's nothing wrong with that . I hope he does . I hope he does .
But we still have to follow the rule of law . This land and I think it's like you're a good person you should get to stay . That's just not how it works .
And , believe me , there are plenty of cases where people have turned around their lives and they have been able to stay . He's not one of them . That's the way it goes . But remember , we've lived through four years of , you know , just letting anybody in , criminal or not , and doing nothing . Why
¶ Media Bias in Immigration Cases
? Because you think it does you some sort of political favor . And so now you enforce this law again and you end up with this battle . Okay . And again this gets back to the maryland man , the guy who's a member of ms-13 . Right , most likely , there's no question . He's been charged by his own wife with physical abuse .
Okay he's still in el salvador and correct , I mean , and it's not like it's just like it's unknown about his immigration situation .
He met with an immigration he had a deportation order in 2019 .
And they said that they have plenty of evidence about the fact that he was an active gang member , so by the way , more came out on that he was stopped with eight people in a car .
They all had his registered address on there , I mean again in his wife , very clearly , you know gave statements to police about his rampant abuse . So , please , you're not dealing with a choir boy here , but you're still getting the defense on CNN .
And so Scott Jennings , you know , just dismantles this broader theme of look who you defend and look at what you're trying to do here .
One of the issues that Donald Trump is really under the water probably his worst issue is the Maryland man , who is in El Salvador right now . It's something that- . The Maryland man , he is a Maryland man .
Come on , what I will tell you is he is an El Salvadoran citizen .
He is not a Maryland man , he is an illegal immigrant living in this country illegally for 14 years .
Whatever you want to say , scott , but the American people- .
This is why the polling is the way it is because we're lying , we're lying , we're not lying the American people , the peace orders were in Maryland .
He was beating his wife .
The American , even though they have been saying that about him for weeks . That is not penetrating and Americans are just misled and that's why they don't like how Trump has handled this .
He has been saying that for weeks and what has the entirety of the national news media been saying ? He's a Maryland man . He's a mild-mannered suburban father . We have lied our rear ends off about this case . He is a El Salvador illegal immigrant . He came to the country 14 years ago illegally . There is a ton of evidence that he is involved in gang activity .
There is a ton of evidence that he was involved in human trafficking .
All right , and he's exactly right . This is is just . It's just a bunch of mischaracterizations and lies or puff pieces on people that there's another part of the story . So you sit here and see the media do this over and over again and then you get .
You see politicians that ramp that up they're working together again they get on it again and I just don't know how anybody even believes what the media has to say at all anymore . They they lied to us about Biden for four years .
They've lied to us about a lot of things over the past and it's like why would you sit here and believe anything that's happening that's coming out of their mouths right now ? Prop that guy up . That is a is a protester for terrorist organizations , right ? And they're trying to make him this poster child . This poor guy .
We're going to send him out of the country . Are you kidding me like ? I just don't know how and when we're going to get back any sort of legitimacy with the mainstream media if they continue this kind of rhetoric on sharing with the american public well so .
So that's what's going . So there's there's some polling wrapped into all this , and I want to get to two different things before we get to the polling , because we are going to talk about the polling and not all polling is created equal , there's no doubt .
But Alex Thompson went up in front of the White House Correspondents Dinner on Saturday night and , to his credit , he stood up and said we have some blame in all of this , because people don't trust media anymore , and we're part of the reason why , because we helped cover up what happened with Biden .
Now , giving Alex Thompson credit , he asked a lot of the questions . He wasn't I don't think he was nearly aggressive enough , clearly , okay , and there are plenty of people in the media who absolutely played along because Joe Biden shares their political party , so they were going to defend him to the end and keep him in there as long as they could .
But Alex Thompson brings up a very valid point here and it's not easy to go up in front of your peers and say we dropped the ball .
President Biden's decline and its cover up by the people around him is a reminder that every White House , regardless of party , is capable of deception . But being truth tellers also means telling the truth about ourselves . But being truth-tellers also means telling the truth about ourselves .
We , myself included , missed a lot of this story , and some people trust us less because of it .
We bear some responsibility for faith in the media being at such lows .
I'm surprised you got a round of applause on that . Honestly , such lows . I say this because acknowledging errors builds trust and being defensive about them further erodes it .
We should have done better . Okay , and he's absolutely right . Good for him for standing up and saying that .
I hope that Joe Scarborough listens to that .
Well , and again , scarborough's an opinion guy right .
An opinion guy who still was hiding for Biden , like he was covering for Biden .
Well , no , but I agree . But then there's , you know , sean Hannity can stump for Trump on stuff that he shouldn't always do , so I don't always think of that , but but I do think , you know .
But he went on to , and we didn't put the clip in there , but he went on to say how crucial the media is and it's super important , and I would have at one time agreed with that .
I think they have a chance to pivot and matter again , but I don't think they're going to , okay , and so I want to bring up one other story going back here , and there was a big story Saturday night out of Colorado , okay , and the reason we bring this up is because the media is going to spin this .
It hasn't been spun yet because it's too early , but they're going to spin this thing .
So let me , let me tell everybody kind of what happens .
Yeah , go for it .
And then you tell us what the headlines are going to be . How about that ? Okay , cause it says um , basically , there was a , a big bus at a club , a nightclub , an underground nightclub , last night in Colorado Springs of some gang members . Right , they were arrested . A hundred of them were arrested for illicit drugs , recovered coke meth .
There was ICE agents there . So how do you think the media is going to spin this ? Like , what are some of the headlines you think they could say ?
Well , I think it's Colorado singles just trying to have a good time arrested . I mean that's going to be clearly coming our way ? Or is it a Colorado business dedicated to bringing joy shut down by ICE ?
Oh yeah , you know what I mean . That's good . Oh , that's good , I like that one yeah .
Or how about a multicultural Colorado club targeted by ICE ? I mean , you know ?
it's just how it's going to go down , yeah , but we've already seen a couple of quick headlines on this that are ridiculous . Here's cnn's headline yeah , over 100 immigrants arrested in raid on underground colorado nightclub where active duty military members worked .
Fed said okay , so they're like with their military members too . So let's not forget that . So the military's mixed into this .
Let's not talk about the fact that the gang members were actually the ones that were running the nightclub yeah , like trender agua and ms13 members , apparently , and apparently you could get , you know , meth and blow and all the other stuff . Right , they had it all lined out , yeah I'm sure okay so here's the one thing I think , where this thing is going .
So I want to show you some of the uh bullet points on this thing . Okay , and it's the one at the end that I think you're you're going to find the loophole where you're going to see the defense occur on this whole thing . So let's take a look at that . And it says the underground nightclub raid .
Some of the details here it said , a federal operation in Colorado Springs target underground nightclub linked to drug trafficking , prostitution and violence . I like bullet . Two officers from 10 federal agencies detained more than a hundred people , including active duty military members and individuals in the US illegally .
They kind of bury that lead a little bit , yeah , and then it talks about . You know , dea was involved with confiscating the drugs and the weapons , and the gang activity is laid out clearly . It's associated with the club . By the way , these gangs and then finally , despite arrests , charges in similar cases have often been difficult to pursue .
Okay , guaranteed , we're going to get somebody coming out of this thing saying I had no idea . I'm just having a good time and all of a sudden ICE comes in and my grandma who was with me . She was just enjoying some meth and all of a sudden she's arrested and she's being shipped out . There's going to be these soft story stories about the suburbs .
I had no idea , you had no idea . Give me a break , okay . And again , if there are members of our active duty military involved in this , see ya , you know you're going to end up in jail for this , as you should , you know . But but again , this is just .
I guarantee you there's going to be now a reason to how could you do this , and so that's just another one of these stories . That's what's coming next in this . But really , what we're trying to get at in this whole thing is there is a broad fight that has been staked out .
I'm surprised at one thing , and that is I'm surprised that many Democrats have gone out and started to defend some of the people they've defended , because invariably there are going to be mistakes , there are going to be people removed that maybe shouldn't have been removed , which we talked about very early , yeah , or ?
stories that are definitely more of a heart-wrenching story than some of these things that we've seen now , yeah , going after and protecting an MS-13 gang member that was here illegally and putting all their bullets in the gun , so to speak .
On that . I'm going to travel to Venezuela , I'm going to take this on Like are you kidding me ? Like you can't . I just think it's a weird hill to die on , it's very odd . And again we kind of said , ok , let's just keep watching them light themselves on fire .
And they are , they are .
But if you look at some of the abc news clip because basically they're talking about this poll that says that trump is hammering support . You know he's . I'm sorry , he's um hammering support hemorrhaging hemorrhage that's good you're fine , it's close enough . Fine , you're fine , I just make up words yeah , he's hammering support .
He's like hammering support or he's losing support .
How about you just put in losing support for that ? I ?
don't know what you're talking about .
Okay , so losing support , even on immigration , right ? So this ABC is coming out saying , oh , it's bad news for Trump , so let's watch this little clip that's been put together . It sounds like it's a really bad day for Trump . Americans have mixed views on this . Fifty three percent disapprove of the way that Trump is handling immigration .
right , you mentioned 53% disapproved but 46% approve of
¶ Misleading Polling Tactics
his handling on immigration , and then we saw definitely a closer split when it came to the detentions and sending those who were suspected of being gang members to that prison in El Salvador . We saw 47% approve and 51% disapprove . And so there are .
OK , this is completely and totally . If you look at it , you think Trump , trump's in trouble , trump is in trouble . So this gets back to my point that you try to accomplish one of two things with a poll .
You either want to get a result , so you push things a certain direction , or you want to get information , and you don't , and you genuinely ask questions like polling . All the time in campaigns you really want to know where you're at , but let's just say you're trying to raise money from donors and they don't believe you can win .
Then you do a poll where you're like hey you , would you vote for this candidate who wants to provide , you know , a great job for everybody and safe streets , or would you support this candidate who wants to absolutely let criminals out and have them target your family ? Which one would you like ? Right ?
I mean , they're like oh my God , I want the guy , I want the guy . We did not do that , but yeah , there's definitely . I would argue . I would say , from a marketing standpoint , that to me is a marketing survey . So what this poll shows to me that they've done is a marketing survey . We'll see . It's not a real poll .
Okay , well , hold on . So let's ask the questions . What are they ?
What did they ?
ask , and what were we looking at ? So we took a deep dive on what did they ask ? So what ? Where are these opinions that a minority of people in this country want to have gang criminals not sent till South ? That sounds crazy . Well , let's take a look . Let's tell me the exact words used in the polling that got this result . Okay , so here we go .
You start with the question at the top , and then , and then the second , no , no , the question at the top , and then you know , and then you , and then you go with your , your subhead .
Okay . So it says do you support or oppose each of the following ?
Here we go .
Okay . Do you support or oppose sending undocumented immigrants who are suspected of being members of a criminal group to a prison in El Salvador without a court hearing ?
Okay , that's not happening . Okay , so this guy , this Maryland man . He'd been in multiple court hearings . He had an adjudicated deportation order in 2019 . He's been all over the court system for more than a decade . Like , what are you ? So that's not ? He should have been deported by now , in 2019 , he's been all over the court system for more than a decade .
Yeah , like what are you ? So that's not , he should have been deported by now . The fact that he hadn't been deported , they're just catching up with the guy . So it's like people are like what you forgot that he already went to court .
Go back to the poll . And so that question is so weird Without a court , of course not , right Okay , of course not , right , okay . And then again , if you already have a deportation order , you get sent back , like that's how that goes . You don't get extra hearings , no , you've already had one to get the deportation order Right , okay .
So that's a completely and totally ridiculous question .
Do you support or oppose deporting international students who have criticized US policy in the Middle East ?
Again , those people are not being just shipped out . The people that are being shipped out are the ones who have said hey , jewish student , you don't get to go to class , we're blocking your way . Well , guess what , you're out . Or they support Hamas and actively push for a terrorist group in this country , which you don't get to do as a non-citizen .
So these guys go and say what if they just give an opinion that they support this ? I mean , that's again another second unfair question that skews the poll to make it look like Americans oppose getting dangerous people who are stopping Jewish students from going to class .
Which , by the way and I'm not sure everybody's heard this or not , but this just happened again at Yale last week . So there was Hamas supporters and they are doing their protesting and they were blocking Jewish students from getting from one part of campus to the other part of campus .
So you look at this video and you're like , wait , this has got to be from like a year ago or something . No , it's still happening . I don't know how it's still happening . I don't know if Yale's just waiting to get all their funds taken away too as well , but I I'm shocked that it still happens .
You frame this question like this and you make it sound like , oh , they just disagreed with a policy and this is just a free speech issue .
And here's what I would argue that by , by going and skewing the poll the way ABC did , they are giving more backing to people on the left who think this is working . It isn't working .
What you're looking at here is effectively a push poll that tell you what you want to hear , so that these guys will keep driving over a cliff , and they are driving over a cliff . We talked about it all the time during the campaign in 2024 with Biden and Trump that this whole thought process of boosting Biden when you knew it wasn't working .
You'd boost him with a fake poll . You'd boost him with he's doing great . You'd boost him with I've never seen a better Biden . You'd boost them with the fact that the economy is not that bad and there's nothing really happening at the border . You are killing your own side . If you're the media doing this and it is your side right , it is , it's Catholic .
You are killing them by saying what you're doing , by backing these people that are here and are violent criminals and trying to get them out , or people that are here that are supporting terrorist organizations and stopping Jewish students from their given rights in this country to get an education , If you're trying to give people the impression that , oh no , no ,
you're on the right side , Everybody's with you , Everybody's with you , Everybody knows you've got to stop exactly what you said the gaslighting . And they keep doing it .
Well , look at this one , this one's amazing Freezing foreign aid , providing food , health services and disease prevention services for people in poor countries . Okay , this is all about USAID , right .
Right .
And so , like as we have learned and we've covered multiple times on our show , the cutbacks at USAID had nothing to do with freezing foreign aid for food and health services right . This was like what was waste , fraud and abuse . What was actually being spent on things that had nothing to do with this it's talking past .
so the way you could also phrase that question is do you support pulling funds from organizations that are working counter to the best interests of the united states of america , or do you support pulling funds from an organization that's lining the pockets of rich politicians who are all repping us off ?
You'd be like oh no , no , I solely support that Eighty five percent . You don't . Yeah , it's a push poll . It's what this whole thing is , and you just keep on going down and there's more and more . Should we reduce federal funding for medical research ? Ok , give me a break again . This is all stuff that is ridiculous and stupid .
Right , because again that goes back to the grants that have been cut back for schools , right ? So the grants are saying , hey , spend more money on the actual research , give the money to the scientists . The school doesn't get as big of a cut as they once did . But they don't clarify that in this survey .
Right , and the takeaway point in all this is polls can be very , very good okay , they can . They can be very valuable and helpful to tell you where you are with the electorate . But certain polls and again the whole theme of this show has been the media is again has not learned from what happened in the 2024 election .
They are putting their foot on the scale more than ever before , and they're doing it in a more dangerous way and backing more dangerous people than they should .
I mean , again , this is just going to keep on going , and if you think polls like this matter , this whole , you know , don't worry , you're part of the group , you're part of the majority of Americans who don't like what's going on . They're going to be flabbergasted when this falls apart too , and they're like I can't believe Trump got away with this .
Trump's not getting away with anything . What you're backing is people that are deliberately trying to subvert the rule of law or trying to stay in the country when they have committed crimes in this country . So get ready . I mean , the bottom will fall out of this one too . But the biggest concern for Trump is going to be you've got to handle the economy .
Because you don't handle the economy . I don't care what happens on immigration , it won't matter , and so he better figure out tariffs and figure out some deals . And again , some of this is going to be holding China accountable and everything else . That's critical , and that's one thing .
By the way , if you can recommend someone to you to listen , listen to or read their , their tweets , bill Ackman , who's a hedge fund investor , had a really good series of tweets that I'd encourage you to go follow up on , and what he basically says is that , even though it looks like China can hold out longer than the United States because their political system
allows them to basically keep an iron grip on things , he says they can't hold out nearly as long as you think , and Trump's in the right spot to do what he's doing . As far as trying to reset everything and really the reset , go to Amazon . Go to Amazon and go look up Apple headphones . Okay , you'll see a million of them .
The vast majority have been ripped off , meaning that the intellectual property that Apple has gets ripped off and China makes them and then sends them back into our country , right ? China never answers for ripping off that idea .
And if an American company tried to do that , they would be sued Absolutely they would , because this country protects them .
right ? This country says no , you don't get to go , rip off someone's intellectual property and don't send it back into their country . Could you imagine if we took BYD , a Chinese you know car maker , and we just brought their car here , we reverse , engineer it , rip it off and send it back into China for half the price It'd be ?
like what are you freaking crazy ? They would never let us do that . They do not hold up to their stakes of business . We can't , we can't even prosecute them here in the United States , but the deal right now is just crazy .
It's wild . But if Trump doesn't figure this stuff out , work some deals with our allies and start to bring them back in again . This whole thing that basically nobody's an ally is not smart , right ? I mean , you've got to work deals with Japan . You've got to work deals with the European .
You've got to work a bunch of these deals , get them done and then figure it out . Same thing with the Ukraine , stuff Like that's all falling apart , because if you rely on Putin , guess what ? Putin's not a good actor , so Trump's got his problems . I mean , there some of these things out .
But I'll tell you that I just think that stuff can be figured out and I think it's going to be a fascinating next few months
¶ Economic Concerns and Tariffs
watching this stuff play out . Well , I just hopefully hopefully it gets fixed sooner than later , just for the sake of stocks and everybody yeah , the economy , people kind of panicking about certain things but absolutely .
Well , after all that fire , let's do something a little bit more upbeat or you know , we weren't going to have a kicker .
I know , but but then we do you think we want to do it .
Well , I do want to have a kicker now , because I forgot that Ava sent me this cute little video .
Okay , okay , I take credit for this kicker yeah .
You should get full credit for this .
But because our Husky . You know they are crazy . So , ava , you can start rolling this . This is amazing .
Oh , I think this is so cute . I can't imagine us . Ava sent this to me and this is . You know , I do have this fascination with watching dogs get washed .
Yeah , like their little spot treatments , the little mud Husky getting cleaned up .
Yeah , he's just getting chill . I can't imagine our dogs being this chill if we try to do all this . They have special gloves . They put on special shampoo .
I feel like this could be a groomer . We're watching here . This is a groomer's personal dog .
No , this is somebody who fosters dogs . This is not her dog , she's fostering it , she's fostering it .
She's so sweet she probably is like she's got some expertise Look at the little paws across . She tease their cross and she's like yeah , I'm just gonna take care of you right there . And then he looks so happy but she continues to go on .
And I didn't realize you should put the old earmuffs on them when you're clean , you know when you're drying them off .
We probably should we should probably put the earmuffs on our dog when we're vacuuming the house because they also hate that he brushes his teeth . Oh yeah , brushing the teeth .
I just just hanging out getting the . By the way , I've tried to do that to our . It does not work .
Oh , and the trimming of the nails . Look at this dog laying down . I don't know , I don't know who had this dog originally , but this is the most well-behaved Husky I've ever seen in my life .
It's unreal .
I'm like , yeah , we'll take this dog in a heartbeat Cause .
look at how happy this dog is .
Oh , he's nose yeah , what is this ?
the laser treatment yeah laser treatment , yeah , well , you got to keep them .
You know , looking young really it looks right now . What's so funny is they'll get to the end here , right and this is classic husky move . Yep , you clean your husky , you spend hours doing this right . You brush them down , get them all set , get all the hair off all the hair , and then about oh , I don't know treatment .
Yep , she even sprays them with like something to smell .
But he he's going back outside again .
Yeah .
And what does he do ?
It's a little treat , and then this is a classic Husky right here yeah .
He's right back out to the dirt . Yeah , and I'm just going to lay in it . Yep , it's great stuff , okay .
So hopefully that's a little happy yeah To some us today . You guys , we really appreciate you spending some time with us and don't forget to keep making those comments and send us your emails . We appreciate it . Thanks so much
