I don't know if who who always in on this ship, but they they really real me in the game and was like, Nigga, you're gonna be a real nigga because the nigga. The nigga had his broad um. He went away one night and the bitch was like walking around with a robo but ass naked and ship and she was just like um. She was like, man, short, you know I've seen you looking at me. I like you fine, I'll be looking and she was like you want to fuck? And I'm like, so we had the house about ourself, right,
I'm like, yeah, I want to fuck. She said, tell me, tell me something about Dean. Give me some dirt. I said, every time you leave the best next door come over here and they're going the room and kick it. And she was like I knew it. She's like, all right, I'm get pussy. She went in the room. It never came back out. The next day, he said, nigga, don't you ever let the bitches again. I ride a nigger around like like bright, come on, man, we can never
do that. He's gonna have to figure yourself out. I don't know if he's feel to be able to put it back together. What Kanye did, Man, they go walk out on the edge on the wild side, get off into all that ship out there in the world. See how fucking real the world is, and all the ship that looked pretty and ugly and evil and good and bad and ship and some some niggas. Man, that ship is never come back. Just terrifying. Man, and the mother
fucker out there on the edge and click. The only thing can bring him back was the fucking investors sucking ship into something like like or something, some kind of motherfucking therapeutic something that gets you back off that ledge. He went out there and seen that ship. He's seen the real ship. The niggas, And how you at a party, Man, you're thinking, like Nigga nig is right there as a demon like and he go trying to tell us somebody. They're like he crazy, Like, no motherfucker out of the
party last night. I've seen that demon recording. Okay, look you ready, I was stunning, right. This is one of the first time in stunner to go to a war show. There's probably two thousand nine and go to a war show. He take me to the MTV Awards. I see Erica Body for the first time, and I'm like, damn, this motherfucker. It's cold and personal. I'm owner, I said, you know, young ad laid nick sucked up in tality. I'm like, I'm gonna have her, like I finished your all sexuality.
And it is like she just be floating because she don't even be walking, because she was just floating past. I was like, off and to have her this is I'm for to do this. This is this right here? Is it like like rappers man feel me and I'm a gangster too. That's gonna work out. So I'm looking, I said, bergman, I tapp him. I say, look, look at her right there. He's like yeah, she called. I was like, yeah, I'm gonna go get it. So I get up to try to go shoot my shot. The
nigga grabbed me and snatched me down. And mind you, this neggate the type of nigger that really to me get too invested in most of the ship. He give you game and all that. If you listen, it's cool. If you're not evenna, let you walk. But he grabbed me. He said, hey, man, don't do that. I said, why not? Looking don't get it? And you think I can't get her. He said, no, man, she's on some ship. And I'm like, man, you're tripping. Let me get up. I'm thinking he's said,
like I can't get her. He sat me down and grabbed me. Snap me day, he said, nagy man, she's like a witch or something, and she on some money. She will be saying that. People say that heard that. So I looked at him, right, I'm like, man, you trip, you trip. I look back and look at his face and all I thought is this Nick from New Orleans. So I'm like, you know what, let me just chill because it's the reason he's saying this ship. I never
got that here. Yeah, that body wasn't man, get that bod isn't on you start wearing show the path many years ago? Was that about seven five seven. You'll be sitting there right now with this on something. I put his legend there legendary and ain't really hurt. Nobody's on it firsthand. But it's just that would be just a
podcast right before you. Yeah, I was thinking about the right comment, Like I remember the videos changed for comment and did different people then, And I'm like, whatever that is, I need to know. It's definitely some magic in that in there. Man, it's definitely something magical about it. I did not then. I just I'm just basing that on the on the facts. Sure, yes, obviously you look at people, so all the facts. So conversations hold up, no sellings.
G L my boy, Peter, feel me, y'all know art all that what Mama was short man, The ultimate Player, the player before I even understood what plan was about, feel me, when I just was listening to the records and I was like, Man, this nigga is talking some crazy ship whatever pop The Player of Players. That's an album, that's concept, The Player of all Players. I'm trying to tell you, come on, that's a great point. I like that anyway. What's up man? You hear that line in
the old two short song. It's been said the Player of all players? Said, Man, hey man. The first time they ever got me in the studio and said, uh, you don't make an album? What you wanna name that album? I really couldn't. I didn't have no slick ass title on deck, So I just was like, ship name it. Don't stop rapping. That was my That was my theme from day one when you grabbed the mic, don't stop rapping. Like like fucking a hunted bars whatever, just go fun
the hook. Just don't stop rapping and then wrap a lot and fucking never stopped making songs. And I've been doing this man, rap rap ship is It's world renowned and the motherfucker's didn't ask you about the rap ship? Yeah? Yeah, the player ship. How do like I get it because I'd have been up top right, I'd have been in Northern feel the rap. That's what made the rap. It's just the player ship, that's what made the rap. I was I was walking down the street with my radio.
I was flowing at the time, you know, doing like Little Ryan's rhymes, just to go like um like, I was like mimicking what I heard out of New York. So we're like, you're the girl in the red. I heard what you said. You know that it was lame as fun, but it was like it was rhyming and it was novelty and people could see you doing it.
Was like he's rhyming. But then I was walking down the street with my radio and the message came on the first time I ever heard it, and he was like broken class everywhere people pisting on the stage, not like that ship and it gave me a visual. I was like, that was my first time that a rap
song made me see something. It's crazy. I had a conversation with Eric B and the other my other partment from New York, and I told him I could tell when y'all came about the message meant more to Yard than anything else because your ship iced t ship in w a easy then ship to tell your story. He was like, like, everybody got that light. I got that light. I was like, fuck, I'm sitting there rapping this ship.
I'm about to start rapping about Oakland like it was that easy and ship and that's the formula right now, That's where that's where the game comes from. It wasn't like I was sitting there at that moment in time in my life going damn, I got so much game. I need to just start rapping by game. That was really like this is how you know. I was like, oh, ship,
I'm right, I'm in the motherfucking movie called Oakland. I'm in it and all the game is just all around me, and I'm like, all I gotta do is rap about Oakland like they wrapped about in New York. And I just that's what started now Pete think he's what Pete is a player, But I think he's a player because he got hurt before. No, no, no, I'm a retired player. I'm not a player no more. What's the definition of a player? I don't know what depends? And I guess
who you're asking? How you asking? All I know is this, and I what you were saying. A second ago. I couldn't buy an ouncer game with cold hard cash before I moved to Oakland. Yeah, he lived up. I lived there. I lived on MacArthur back in the day, and it's like oh four so like right when like the side showing was going on, all that kind of ship. By the time I left out of there, I couldn't tell me ship. I had a reputation within the within the city.
It was great. You know what that might be? Why you hard on the motherfucking woman like that though your time and debay, because the thing about the West, the whole West, is they don't play a by women. They're hard on women. If you, if you, if you thank you just something, you better be what you say you is because the whole West is hard on the woman. But I definitely agree. Northern California it's a different vibe
that ain't gonna play. It's training, man, it's training, and it's not it's really it doesn't have anything to do with how you get out of female. That's not what the training is. People interpreted different ways. So when you when you receive the game, you've got a lot of choices on how you put it back out there. But it's really about just not being a sucker this period, point blank and all your situations. Don't walk into the room and be the sucker. Don't be the weekending it.
Don't be then it is getting used. Don't don't you know, don't be manipulated, be the manipulator. So if you're not gonna be manipulated, the best way to do it probably is to learn how to be a manipulator. And then you then it's like it's like it's like being a con man, but you don't necessarily have to run cons on people. But being a con man, you ain't gonna get, you know, all the angles. So it's all about like trying to learn the angles. Man. Like I see how
she coming at me. I'm not gonna spent the same game every time at a female, but I see how she coming at me, So let me go to uh foul number one on one dash two three and run that game on her, you know what I'm saying, or deal with her like that. And it's like every situation you're supposed to be, you know, be able to think on the fly. Every situation is a different situation, and player is something that you choose to be. There's a lot of games that motherfucker's that don't want to be
a player. They found something good that they wanted like this. You know, I feel like I feel like a pimp who never had the pimp. So instead of pimping hose, I decided to just be a player. I'm gonna use my game that way. So a lot of females come into my area and come and get close to me, and it might be thinking they're dealing with like you know, some square level type of ship or some player type ship, and I'm really like mentally like leveling up on her
like a pimp game. I mean, this had to be an eighties, ain't nobody, ain't nobody, nobody couldn't have tried to run the game. When you pass ninety, nigga, your player was world right now by that you gotta a but you gotta get slicked. You gotta get slicked in the game, but you have to women were still trying you pass nineties. One of them thought it was an act and they would roll up like thinking, all this
this ain't really what it is. Well, you know chicks to this day, I mean, they never they get they pull up, they pull up, and uh they just kind of like go fishing. Man, Like you know, like we've been living a universe of no consequences. We know this. They give me an open door. Do you want to be a sucker? Like they like they try to get you to be a sucker? Still, man, I didn't. I didn't have rocket taste. So he was like about this ship endlessly. One of my one of my favorite days
was we was We was. We had the whole little mob with us. We out of town at a All Star basketball and like Denver or some ship somewhere, and this chick pull up on me, like with the with the whole vibe. She getting at me like she wants me to be on the pimp vibe. She talking like a real hole, you know, and just a couple of little exchanges and I say, I'm like, I'm in real mode at the moment right we get the oh start, we're kicking, and I'm like, baby, look I ain't know pimp.
I'd be wrapped, you know what I mean. You know it's not good. I just like she turned around and told something. She was like, baby, this two shot said you don't got no house. And then she's like, that's my nigger right there. He's a real pimp. That she started getting like real like like about to go there, and I wrote up on Homie. She was still still talking,
and I rolled up on Homie. I said, man, you might want to make her stop talking bro like, like not with a whole bunch of like you might, because niggas is gonna either beat her up or him up with it. It was gonna happen so fun all the raps. He shut his bitch up. Who was the coldest player?
You remember coming up from up top? It was a lot of real ones like, but it's always that one that that got you with you like that nigga is a real This is the And then you know rumors about ship like before me, like people like the War Brothers and Ship that the movie that Mac that was in the movie and the movie was like personally about them and ship. Um, his names were legendary names, like you know, like I used to hang out with the saying these dudes that Keith and keV and their daddy
was Roosevelt Taylor, and Roosevelt Taylor. He gotta he gotta shout out in the in the mac you know, they they put some real pimps in that movie, like some real Oakland pimps. But in the streets he was just one of them, you know, long line, a long line of names of real ones. And then he became a preacher and that you know, I'm still I'm sitting here looking at the game, and I know how how real it is. But it's like I don't want to talk
down on the man and them. But to me, even in him being a preacher, I still seen the pimp. I've seen it, like he was still like one of my heroes. But when I was coming up, not the legendary dude before me. It was it was I went to high school. Frank de Bank. Frank de Bank came to school every day dressed like a fucking pimp. Dressed like a pimp every day to high school. One of his homes went to school with him. She came to school high school then high school. Yeah, she came to school.
Nigga was a pimp in high school with holes in high school and they was going to class. They wouldn't even like being on campus, being like like no, he just though he looked it whether he had his hat on or suited with a bunch of jurry on wherever. Every fucking day. His name was Frank the bank. They had a perm su perm down to his shoulders. That's like kid the look man and everything is like styl and shift. Frank would have the bitch that didn't go
to school. She was an older bitch. She would drop him off at school. So you know, we out there in the morning hanging out before we going to school and this nick get dropped off. It's two or three
holes in the car. He jumped out with the one little hole and they going to school to class and then after school probably lunchtime to the fucking um, the fucking hole come pick him up in the car, top down, like to me, like going from down here and up there, like everything down in l a Iss ganged for everybody. If they're not a gang banger, their cousin the gang back an uncle game banger. It seemed like the same thing.
But for pimping in Oakland, everybody kind of half ass fancy himself a pimp or player, or the uncle, a pamper or whatever else. Even if you're a gangster, you still like you might feel like having a pimp persona. It's just it's just embedded in the coaches. Have you ever been down like International when it's really lit, when there's a couple of hundred women that that's insane to me. I never seen anything like that. Any city back in
the day used to be more like Sam Pablo. It was always a lot of a lot of little little places where the host rows and ship. But SAP was kind of burnt out of My favorite one, my favorite one was San Pablo. That was like a fashion show down there. It was that was big time. You ever you ever heard anything Aboudy Franka went out to the Midwest, and you know, he survived the game even he's been around kept the time. I actually a picture of Frankie's
on the wall in the building. Actually on the picture that's tastic on the picture over there with all the pimps. He needs to be uh, he needs to be immortalized, and then um, you know we have dudes like a Gangster Brown. Gangster Brown was he was one of my immediate heroes because Gangster Brown used to drive a brown limousine Cadillac, and he was driving it and in the back here rolling windows down while he come rolling through, and it was just full of holes. Three photos in
the back. This ship don't even seem real. I never I gotta watch the Mac, man, I gotta watch the Mac. I ain't laugh. But then let me tell you how the ship evolves though, man, because you know, before us it was real pimping like the Mac, the Cadillac with all the ship and the fucking fucking uh clothes and the matching and you know what I'm saying that it was that's late seventies pushed into the early eighties. Then it started, uh kind of I ain't gonna say, changing
a lot. But the biggest blow to the pimp image was crack. When the crackhead you got, you know, if the dope deal it get on his own product can go down, He's just be like, oh he smoked out. But then as as a few pimps that got you know, the whole little look you know when let's say you're a clean ass pimp and then you get hooked on cracked and eventually you're gonna ride that car to the only got three rims and it's like, you know, it's
fucked up and got it dead. Then your clothes get a little shabby, and then somewhere down the line, we started having an image of pimps looking like that, and we forgot the magic of what these motherfucker's that did for hundreds of years, if you like to say, late seventies, pre crack and the track with pretty much people I would assume I'm before my time, like a fashion show, yeah, but it would be populated by like professional holes who
had pimps. Pretty yeah, you start getting I don't want to say, kind of holes who just strung I gotta go sell some pussy to get it it real quick, polluting the track. I would imagine that's how I grew up. That's what happened after, Like I grew up seeing pimping a hole in that way, Like I didn't even see holes. I only see strawberries. So then okay, so if you got if you got a certain integrity about what you do, and you see this drug flood, the the turf, the
track and ship and ship and sucking. Uh, it's just making this ship look bad. And that whole little like I just got the image of when it was like, it's like your dick twentys and it just you know, crack head hole, crack head holl. You know, it's just like but the glamor went out of it. But then it never went away because you sit there and talk about um like you you say, she's a hoe, but she's a call girl, and he like the call girl, you expect her to kind of like carry herself a
little different call girl. She could walk into a hotel and walk up to a hotel rooms, walk to her kneed, walk back getting her car and go as well as she could do be a call girl and go doing a house call or something. But you see a whole as a bit you get picked up into a car on the street corner for chump chains and do to do in the car or something, Gonna go do it in the cheap motail something. But the other side of it,
so you say, what does the car girl make? Oh, every time she's go on the call, she's gonna make a five hunter. The better. So that's so call girls is the whole prostitutes the real ones. No, that's just it's just a different level of different levels selling. It's selling, rocks are selling answers are selling kilos. What level you want? So fucking um the car girl is. Now you know this, this turns into from from that whole crackhead ship. It
turns into where you want to be. You don't want to be on the street, you know bits get on and get my money. You don't want to be that guy that's like fucking little little kid games and ship. That's some ship like like the it was like they
wasn't even in that world. You're sitting there stuck on crackhead holes and all that thing is over here looking like then you might play for a sports team or the nigga might be a rapper, or you be like who this little baller as motherfuck is and got three or four and they're knocking down, you know, twenty a month each and it's coming daily gobs of cash and you're sitting there making fun of these pimps and not
even knowing the whole time. The game moved on and the game kept going, and it was like it was a It was a beautiful thing, bro, Like I can take you through eras of like East Coast, Miami, fucking here in that l a fucking Vegas like a motherfucker Hawaii, and the game lives on like that, that crackhead image staying in shitty ass neighborhoods and and you know, if
that's what you want to go for. But man, that piece shi and it ain't about fucking suit and tie in the motherfucking rhyman ryman and ship with words with your name or some ship is motherfucker's writing lambos bro Ye, it's unpleay to pay a prostitute, Uh, because I I think I've been on this whole spell, like right when I'm working on music. I just think that's unpleay. Yeah, so, um,
you're not a real player if you're paying. So look, if you've got an arrangement going with a with a with a chick, If y'all got some kind of arrangement where it's some money making family vibe money coming to then you said at the table when you bring in money, I mean, if you got a money maker, you don't want her to be broke. You know what I'm saying. You want to let her live her best life too. If you live in your best life, let her. You know,
it's different ways. Like some dudes, it's like really hardcore on it. But if you're just a civilian and you come in contact with the hell, I mean, she's only looking at you one way if you give her money, and so there's no other there's no other way. And if you don't give her money, she's only looking at you one way, Like you're a trick? Are you're not a trick? Which one? Are you? Ship? You wasting my
time when you're dealing with a real one. But now we've got the blurred lines of yeah, I don't know what they want to be the one thing missed. Meet your to table in the club and say if you cash had me two hunted out second dick ass for the night with you, Yeah, that's some ship. That's bitch if you don't get away from me, um cash at
me right now. That's what I said, what ship? That's funny though I can't I can't, but I can't imagine the motherfucking broad that's gonna come up trying to play you. That's trick philosophy, is I mean? I was gonna take her to dinner anyway. I heard nig say that be killing me with that. Okay, that's that's my food. Well, all right, that's food delivery. You know what. You look at me at face value. Girls think this is a walking Yeah, so I get all of that. You get
off get I get inboxed cash apps unsolicited. You want, you should holler at me, here's my cash app. I don't even know you, like they walk up to me like that, like it's feet salty about that. It was like, so you really just think I'm just not really because I view it as an opportunity. Now you're gonna learn. You know, I hang out with a couple of white pimps. Man, It's like, what about white players. It's um, it's white pimps. White.
It wasn't white from Chicago. I'm not talking about the suit and tide oh jim to my some young real white pimps. Yeah, I mean, it's it's it's it's it's the way to do it, bro. But look, you know, game is game. They learned real fast, like if you if you live and die by the game, they just learned real fast who you are. Like they they've engaged in you all, man, I don't know about this game goofy hole and this ship, but real host at all times they just like they got the host sonar on you. Man,
They're like reading is he or ain'ty? Because if you ain't got no money for it, she really putting a whole lot of energy. And you period. It's just a time frame which to figure out you're gonna brand me up or not. But the real game is is ficient, It's savage. It ain't for everybody, man, that real life, real game, that play game is what we all been rapping and talking about. Really know, it's for you that play game where you know the new way man, Like
you can call yourself pimp. You what I'm saying you could you know what I mean. It's call yourself a player and all you're doing is paying all the hoses with you that you're a players. That's the new day. And he got to say that an Atlanta player. I don't know who said it first. It ain't tricken. If you got it, that's a lie. It's tricking steel. It's just it's just trick. It's just tricking that affecting your pockets. I prefer that's the one thing I love about stunner Man, Right,
that's the one thing I love about stunner Man. Right with stunner Man, stunn of Man, they they knew it was tricking. It wasn't never like trying to They never denied it, right, and was like, oh, this ain't tricking, this is tricking. Still Like, well, I talked to girls from Atlanta and this and this is a little maybe more social political, you know what I mean, Like it's trying to find a diagnose what makes West Coast mentality
and West Coast mentality. But girls from Atlanta like, well, I expect a guy to be a gentleman and the pay for And I'm like, sweetheart, we're in Los Angeles. Like, firstly, so all that southern gent crap you can leave it where you came from, because when we don't do that out here. But to your point, why do you think I should do that? What about you makes you think
you deserve that from me? Out the box? Never an answer, But I feel like down in like like the Texas of the world, extra cash on hand if you're a regular guy, because life is cheap out there out here? Life is not cheap, are you saying? Because if you. If I wanted to go spend money like, I wouldn't like you got that extra sevens a month ago, blow on impressing a girl every month in Dallas. If I did that out here in the wrong situation, I wouldn't
be victed over pussy. Like nobody getting evicted over some pussy and music recording the show for you just to broadcast a live cut your ship off? Please? Did you please cut it off so we can have something. That's the hardest part about player is watching when somebody try to play. That's why that's why I can't commit to being a player. It's just it's too like you gotta be on guard all the time. But I can't trick neither. And I don't know. I think that's just because I'm
from here. That's why I say I retired because now I look at it like I want to buy my time back, and all now it makes that's what it was. Because if I if I look at it like I'm giving you my time for free, I'm saying to you our time is worth the same amount. If I'm giving you money for my time, I'm saying my time is worth more than yours, because it's profitable to me to give you money todable for a fine broad that if you wanted to pay it, I don't know. I can't
bring it to I can't to do it. I can't. And they was talking about like the baddest bitches in l A, the baddest bitches. And they start putting up numbers. It's like it's like a barber shop full the ball and they started put up to number. They're like, well, I'm you know, oh girls such as such. They're like, oh, yeah, she she find it's fun. It's like Nigga her rent like thirty five hunted, you pay the rant, you can funk for a month. Nigga was like, I got thirty
five hunted. That's how the conversation was going. I'm just in there listening to Oh my god, I knowed you raise this generation and this is what we gonna do. But the niggas said, man, if she sharted thirty five hund to be her boyfriend for a month, I'm in I just don't think nobody that bad. I don't think I'm saying bro, it's it's it is a woman that I think is that bad. The way I would pay for her company I just can't believe that paying for
her absence. It's the it's the trick leisure of not having to go through the brain power of the fucking back and forth with the dialogue and then the coast. But that's the best part. No, it's not the best part comes. Yeah, I mean you want you want that in the world. We want a lot of that in the world because because you know, pussy makes money, and you know, if a chicken is like on the independent side, or if she got some sponsorship or something I had,
it's coming. It's going into the universe. I had a conversation about this earlier. I wanted to tell you about this fucking kid. No. Look, so I was telling the homie on live. I was like, the problem is men try to value themselves based off the pussy they're getting, and like, if you're getting pussy, I was talking, I was talking to Katie, was pushing chopping it up, and we was having a conversation about fucking and he was like, we was talking about Drake specifically. I don't remember what
we was talking about. It wasn't nothing crazy, but he was like, man, Drake music and for people that get pussy, and I said, that's crazy, because everybody get pussy like Nagy, everybody don't get pussy. I said, it's a nigger in a tent on Maple and fourth right now getting some pussy. And I noticed that that nigga started to value themselves off the bitches they was fucking like the bitch don't got the one lady or the one man that nobody's
gonna be proud she did. And I noticed other people wanted girls that I talked to because I talked to him, and I'm like, well, I don't understand, how is that valuable? If she a fuck anybody like, it's always any girl who you overvalue, any girl that's overvalued. Che didn't hear somebody that she was looking like you fuck that niggd. I know, man, but it's a popularity contest going on right now, and it's just a matter of, uh, what kind of little clips can you get in what kind
of little still photos can you get? So if you go into the frame of a lens and you put on some fake ass diamonds as some fake ass gold, and you pay a bit to stand there in the picture with you, are two bitches that you're paying your and it's a bottle on the table that you bought and you somebody later on. You could redefine that moment.
You know what I'm saying. You could just let the moment look look at captioning something and that that that that volidifies your player with j Homi told me paid for all this ship and ship you you got overcharged for the bottle you paid the two house That fucking about the fact jury everything about you in that pictures fake and you put you put a caption likes they
like shame. There's no more shame. I'm trying because to me, most of the time, of the stuff I don't do, I ain't gonna tell because I don't want to be ashamed of myself. I'm not gonna do short of things because the shame of myself. These niggas could looking at like these these niggas could look in the mirror and be lying and be Okay, look where the validation is coming from. The validation used to come from only the streets, only the community. Now it comes from imaginary motherfucker's that
just gotta tap a screen twice, that's validation. Two taps. So validation used to be uh man glasses said you're a real one. Now two taps. If enough people do that, that tap said you're a real one, and you ain't did nothing to be coming that. I'm sure that I ain't. I ain't following it, but I'm sure somebody just became super fly as gang bangers. I ain't talking about it. Ain't on that from social media like Nigga nia and like this nigga ain't. Ain't nobody in the streets know
if his rep and to me like I don't. What's crazy is I don't have a problem with it. If your own homies is validated. That's where I kind of be like, my ain't tripping. If your own homies gonna let you get it off, I ain't tripping. What funk with me is when they start trying to convince me. That's that's my issues. Like I was telling Charlotte, made my issues with trans people in generalism. Don't try to
convince me. Convince yourself. That's the only thing I feel like as a man or as a human being, convinced a person in the mirror. But when people start trying to mess with your mind. So if certain people like that was putting on the show of being a gangster for their brand. Start trying to convince me. That's one
thing I never had to deal with. So what about like the inception of a whole new hood, Like you take New York thirty years ago and like Atlanta just recently in the last five so years a little more maybe, And you know, no matter where it comes from New York, they said it came from the prisons and spread out to the streets Atlanta. I feel like, damn, they came from hip hop sudding. I don't know where, but I'm just saying how you feel about Like motherfucker's just wake up.
One day they got a bunch of little homes were hanging in the apartments, were like, fucking nigga, we're the so and so crips now. And then for a minute it's like, bro, y'all ain't even really. But then years from now, them saying niggas just like it's it's a whole little, little little pack of little niggas. I was born into that ship, and you say, man, y'all ain't really. They're like, Nigga, I was borned this ship, nigger. That's why I keep saying. I argue with the Homy the
other day. You can't telling Nick out of town that cripping ain't real. Then niggas grew up with cripping and blood and at this point, yeah, so so it don't matter it's origin, you feel me, It don't matter where it started that if it's two or three generations deep, like it's certain states across the country. Me and Dog had this conversation. I'm like, niggas grew up gang banking. They the older brothers that some nigga's fathers and other states were gang bankers. So now their kids growing up
in it. So at that point, they don't matter where it started at nobody give a funk. Rap. Rap would have allowed me if I was looking at this ship all wrong. Rap would allow me to be the coldest pimper in the world just because what I was rapping about. I could have just said all the process at some point, just when got eight holes and like fun rapping just but out of control, and it would have been the life imitating art, not the other way around. You know,
becaulse it did it? Bro like you know it was. I'm sure, I'm sure a lot of prostitutes came to He was like, hey, I will sail for you special on that like BT did the thing where there was like actually one of your show's backstage, some girl they
were falling around. She was trying to be I'm gonna go up on Too Short and I'm gonna go, I'm gonna go get on his team and ship like she thought this this was a real television and you and you were on there looking indifferent as funk about this bit walking up to you trying to join your TEAMO holes and you were like, what are you doing. I'm gonna I'm about to do a shop. She's like, no, I finished selling for you today, short haired chicken. So that's how I feel about like your rap being like
player like. It was always player like I heard pimp, but I think I always got player yep. So that's why I could never imagine somebody twelve years, you know, in ninety two talking about let me I'm gonna play too Short girl. That just how could you listen to Too Short and think to yourself? Eventually some of this ship got to become real. Uh As a female, the songs were designed for you, tobe Uh detach yourself from the insults and easily just say he's talking about her.
You're the only thing in the world I can get that off. Though I kind of right it that way a little bit too, because I had to be its certain words, Like even in all my wraps, I try to make it seem like I'm only talking to one dude, like I'm not talking to a group of people. I'm not talking to a crowd. I'm like interrap. I'm always like, yeah, man, I said something something, you know, you know what I'm saying, just like little Ship. Just like little ship, It's it's
a conversation to one person. And then every time I go in on that bitch ain't ship type ship, I make sure I don't say bitches ain't ship or y'all bitches ain't ship. It's always like the bitch ain't ship. Why so if you're a female right there? And I just I learned that my people's reactions to the songs, I was right, So I just started like writing more
like that. And and the way when I wrapped to the one person, I call it out in my mind, I call that one person the two short fan, Like it's one two short fan that funk with too short, so like real for real with her husband and the husband you see that that's the secradment. Her husband was looking like ship. But no, if I if I think
I'm right, I'm doing a song I'm recording. I'm like, man, that real to shrip fan ain't gonna like this ship, gonna be mad because I get a little information from real too short fans like motherfucker, like and I like that song, brother, they didn't had that two short based, so like when I'm in the student, I gotta remember about that two short based or like, man, he's being all nice on that song. You know what's funny? Your brand is as advertised and and sometimes I don't mention
you could always mentioned nice tea, always mentioned dog. But your brand is as advertised. You you exactly who you are on the records and banks. Just tell me I record a song, we record the ship. He's like that ship, Harrid, but you gotta put that two short ship on it. So when I figured out what he's talking about the two shorts ship is go back and say all the same ship, except instead of saying, yeah, bitch sucked my dick, just go back and then say yeah, bitch sucked my dick.
Bitch like like say it and it come out better on the record. So you don't you didn't really know ship about brand. This is just was how he was living exactly what Brand ain't marketing? What the funk? What the fund is that? What? Then? That is maybe out there and we was out there being it and really like saying what was really real? So, uh, Born in Mac the album cover, Nigga, I would never lie about that day we went up to shoot the album cover.
I'm like this this seven the day we did this photo shoot, and eighty seven the first half of eighty seven, I was broke as fuck. Second half of eighty seven, I had hell of money when we shot that album cover right in the middle of them too. That day we go up there, you know, we're getting a little paper and ship but it ain't really happening yet. But my nigga tied Bo Hannon. He got eight cars, hell of money, all kind of ship. You know, him and
his brother they have the gang of ship whatever. So the Cadillac on Born the MC album cover is Ted's car and we're going to do the shoot. I'm like, man, we gotta get the caddy, man, we gotta put the top down something. We gotta go parking up at the top of the top of the town and just see the whole view of the bay and all that. We get up there that day and it's overcast, so we're looking at clouds and ship. We don't see the water. We don't see the sky light of San Francisco, wen't
We don't see that all this ship. So Chris Hicks c nh whom he put a loony's in the game. He put Drew down in the game. You know, we're all the same crew. So Chris he looking we up there, it's about you know, eighteen homies, a few cars up there. We got the Cadillact position, we got a photographer. I'm right there. We got probably got a little chain on or something to do that cover. Chris is like, we lost We don't got the scenery. You're like, man, fuck
all this ship. There's a bunch of dope dudes outside. Right, He's like, everybody, all y'all gets tacking all your jewel put all the jewelry on short like like you know what I'm saying. So we sit up there and over over dramatize everything about it, and when you look back that cover, you're like, man, that nigga is up, pimp, look at this nigga. But it's it's Oakland, bro, It's Oakland like Nigga like nigga. We all band together to
make this motherfucking cold ass character. And the ship is you know, so didn't The story I'm trying to tell you is so Now I perpetuate this moment in life. I'm like money coming in. I'm like, the first thing I gotta do that I did wrong in the universe. I gotta go fix that ship. I have to buy this Cadillac and I gotta go buy a butch of fucking chains, and I have to drive this Cadillac down the street. You fo. Somebody saying, R nigga, nigga, go
ask Ted we go to pink slip Nigga. I throw that motherfucker through every hood in with the top down. It was real life. It was not Born to MC album cover was not a picture. It really happened. Yeah, for real, for real, all right. I ain't gonna keep you man, I just I just I'm saying that's the the gang were saying. It ain't. Oh yeah, but if you don't mistake the game, I saying, I gotta get on a bitch, that's not what the game is. I gotta get on all these motherfucker's. Everybody got to know
this ship straight up. So tell you I know you know, I know you know, I know you know you know, I know you know. And that's coming from the first fourteen years of my life in l A. So I gotta go up here and adjust to this ship. I ain't. I didn't just I wasn't born into the ship. I got there and just learned the game real fact, like
you know, crash course they top man. You're gonna tell you something else that's beneficial about Short Dog is them first fourteen years gave me something that when I got that, when I got the two short Ship together, the Oakland Pip and all that, I had a ace in the hole that was like weight heavy. It's called l A. You know what I'm saying. And then I when I got to so when I go to move around, I'm not I got you gotta go to the big city. But when I go to the big city, it's actually
hell of familiar, hell of family, hell of connects. I know, I know the streets, I know to move around, so that where are you from down here? Eight even, but long man, get the funk out of here. My cousins everywhere in l A. I got cousins on uh else a gun knowing Main Cross Street from lock high for life, I got cousins sucking my cousins litle hunting fifth and uh Norman d figure we got some property eight. You know, my cousins, I've got a lot of cousins's crazy dog
straight up. But just adding that to it. Knowing how to get up and down that highway five and when you get off that freeway, what to do and what not to do, where to go, where not to go, and actually having family and relatives going you know, what's going on right here, and you know, like really knowing, Like I know, I know a lot. Like I probably couldn't sit here and talk to you h history, but I could, like I could follow the storage from the
eighties when it really jumped off. I can't even tell the ship about before the eighties when I was here because I moved away before a gang bang and got active. Yeah, it wasn't no motherfucking every nigg and red shooting every nigg in. So it was like hell of territorial. It was a lot of niggas I was. I lived all Crypture, so there's a lot of niggas are just it was just like cryp get along kind of crypt like. It wasn't cryp on CRYPTI. I never grew up in that.
By the time I came up, it was just where are you from? Versus the nigga's next door? Yeah, it's crazy because so I leave, I leave on like an elementary school kind of vibe, you know, like kind of young. When I come back, everybody I grew up with is bang it. I'm like everybody and it's like, man, my little cousins that like goddamn Like, so you're just like
a real West Coast California nigga. Yeah, man, you know, I just it was a fortunate uh you know, events that I you know, occurred in my life and ship, and I just kind of like rolled away the right way and kind of kind of how did you just, Okay, before we jet out, how did you not pimp? If it's that simple, Well, I'm sure situation could happen, but how did you not commit to the easy opportunity? Because
it had to be pressed? Okay, I'm easy. You could do it easy without even trying I started rapping as soon as I got to the Bay. Me and my rap partner Freddie b. We get popular really fast before anybody else, So anybody period in hip hop, we popped it off into Bay. Then I go to h seventy five Girls record Dean. How did I started making records with Dean? And this motherfucking um the ship just blow up.
Then from Dean the next situation, we start our own company, which was Dean hodges On on seventi five Girls Records. He was a deep boy. You know, everybody came up with him, all deep boys. So his his little brother and his first cousin. We branched off from Dean because you know Dean, you know, like with the little kids. To him, he's like, I'm through with shows. We branched off and start our own ship using the formula that he used on seventy five Girls Records. So we start
dangerous music and Nigga I'd say eight seven. We started making a lot of money. The first thing we put out with Freaky Tails. Start making a lot of money. I go from there to Drive Records. I started making a lot more money, start doing tours. I'm going to straight out of competit tour with Easy The next year when Ice Cube quit n w A and went out
tour solo, I'm on that tour with him. We every I'm everywhere, like so I'm thinking before I could even think, like, uh man, I pimpty hull of I just fall into this too short ship. And I ain't never been stupid. So this whole time as easy as fun to go niked. If you wrap about pimping on every album and then you go out of pimps some holes, you're you're actually just doing your own case for the district attorney to just sucking put your hasts away forever. That'd be the
easiest case. Every files proven two shows a pill. I can't do a ship, man, I couldn't do it. I like it was just even the weekends and the month in the year and whatever time I did, like take some whole money, the whole of bring what I said, if it's on a good month to be got to bring your average thousand a month. They getting that ship Friday night, trying not gonna wake on this bit thirty days to give me what I'm getting Friday, Come on, man.
So if it's one last thing, if it's one player, one thing, one person who you feel like throughout your whole career, you didn't did a million motherfucking interviews and all that. If it's one person, you want to think that you like that that nobody ever says, like, Man, you know what this person was influential when this ship I do and motherfucker's will have no idea. I mean, it's the only one, one name you could go to.
Man that before anything else that matter happened. It was the one and the one thing that was a factor was the nigga Dean Hodges and that was it. Like I can tell you about what what the Bohannes did for me, I can tell you about what you know people in the music industry did for me. I could tell you about what family members did, but this Nigga Dean was I'm I'm I just turned nineteen. Now, my mama moved from and my brother they moved from Oakland to Phoenix. So now I'm in the town by myself.
I didn't just caught up here like uh five six years ago, and now I'm solo bolo in the town. I get plugged in through two Dean, through his little brother and the Dean is a nigga who's playing keylows and ship. He got to five. He's driving the eighty five bands. He got an eighty five cats house in the hills. He all this ship, and we were seeing
Nigga right by. We knew his little brother. You seeing Nigga ride by Dean and kind of nigging on wave at she's doing some old players wave rememn't look your way, just like straight up the hill. He's going up the hill. You're like, okay, he wouldn't even wave with his own goddamn brother. And so we were really cool with his brother because we know that Dean little brother. He got Hella like benefits, goodies and ship and he's coming through with the ship, and you know he's getting his getting
his right for respect for his status in life. So he like, I'm gonna pluggy with my brother, man, and he take me up there, and you know, Niga give us the cold shoulder, won't even open the door for us. And then he's like, it was up man, they're gonna come back later. Fucking we come back later. He rolled us up in there, and I ain't never man, I don't like you could talk about this playership, but this nigga Dean was a player like this nigga. This nigger
had a girlfriend that lived with him. But then at all times it was just like bitches. Like we said on the couch watching TVs. I'm acting like I don't give a funk, but it's two bitches dancing behind me in their panties and they're like just in their own world and he's just acting like they ain't there in the house. Just he got motherfucker's coming in and out buying fucking dope. He didn't selling nothing under like, he really sold it, like just like like street famous. Motherfucker
us to laps and ship. So he had to come by like at least by about to ounce something like he wasn't. It wasn't a trap house. And Nikki just he wanted to be a rock star man. So he was selling it a little dope. And he said he had been selling dope since sixth grade. That's all he ever did. He was really good at it and he was living a rock star life. So he hired all these musicians. He got too short, the rapper, he got
the bras for the look. He got everything he wanted and like all y'all be around me now now to do it. So we hare that he he buying the best studios, the best equipment, like when I've come out with Born the Back and all that ship. Even before that, when I was doing another Steffire Girls ship. Nick, We're on the best ship. We got. We got Rick James, motherfucking musicians in the house. We got niggas that played with tower of power. He got if you gotta, if
you got a weakness, he was. He was working just like uh, explaining that ship, man, Like what's your weakness? Here? Take more of it, keep playing do that ship. So I learned from the best of the best. I learned in the best studios. At the same time, the nigga put me in this position. He telled me, you know,
come stay at my house. I'm staying in this house with all the while ship going on, with the bitches walking around naked and ship and I'm just I'm like playing, man, I don't know if who who always in on this ship. But they they really real me in the game and was like, Nigga, You're gonna be a real nigga because the nigga, the nigga had his broad um. He went away one night and the bitch was like walking around with a robo but ass neaked and ship and she
was just like um. She was like, man, shut you know, I've seen you looking at me. I like you fine, I'll be looking. And she was like you want to fuck? And I'm like, so we had the house about ourself, right, I'm like, yeah, I want to fuck. She said, tell me, tell me something about Dean. Give me some dirt. I said, every time you leave the best next door come over here and they're going the room and kick it. And she was like I knew it. She's like, all right,
I'm getting some pussy. She went in the room. It never came back out. The next day he said, nigga, don't you ever let the bitches ship again. They got ride a nigger around, like like, come on, man, you call never do that like that. But but I was saying that that don't happen, then I'm I'm gonna do it later on again in life somewhere like nipped that ship in the bud. Right, you know, Dan's riding Nick down to l A. We're going down to l A. I'm pretty sure he was going to make some business moves.
Or whatever, you know, in the in the in the street ship. But he on the entertainment ship. We're pulling up on niggas like iced tea and you know, just chopping up the game. At the same time he's doing the dirt, he's doing the legitimate ship being a label. So and Nigga taught me move for move, how to get that money in the rap game, like how to not as a rap not rap game, but how to
fucking labels like this is what you gotta do. Go do this, just just go here, go there, and n I the ship that he taught me is what I taught all the all the bay niggas, niul go to the studio, mix it down, master ship, go to the distributor, grab that, go take that to the motherfucker, you know, go to the manufacturer and go to the distributor. Go back, make sure your money come back like this. But but you know what I'm saying, gave all the niggas to go here ship that Dean showed me. So he's very
instrumental to bury hip hop. But you know, even though he wasn't hip hop person, he was they didn't wanted to be Jimmy Hendricks he wanted to be Boosey Collins. Yeah, and the nigga literally gave birth to you know E forty and them come from a different they can see, they come from a different you know, source of where they got the game as far as the music go. But it's the same ship. It's the same independent hustle.
And if you if you got it from Knowing with forty New coming from St. Charles, or if you got it from Too Short Tibo Hannon, you know, coming from Dean Hodges, it's the same game. You know what I'm saying.
