The recorder is not merely a tool of documentation, but rather a creative instrument that demands we rethink, re-listen, and reflect on our listening patterns. In asking who the recorder is placed in front of, what it catches that we miss, and what we weave together that it cannot pick up, our team at The Third Eye deepens its obsession with the recording of knowledge.  

Our ‘Audio Documentaries’ are sound-and-narrative explorations voiced from the field. These nonfiction narratives are held in a feminist recitation that moves through the personal, the collective and the political. With a story of a father revisiting his life, or one of a single woman in Kekri, Rajasthan, or then with the feelings of people home alone during the Covid-19 pandemic, these insightful, empathetic and creative portraits of realities of the ground both hold their own, and contribute to the mainstream discourse.

हमारे लिए रिकॉर्डर सिर्फ रिकॉर्ड करने का साधन नहीं है, बल्कि एक रचनात्मक उपकरण है जो हमें हर एक आवाज़ को बार-बार सुनने और उसपर सोचने की प्रेरणा देता है. हम यह जानने की कोशिश करते हैं कि रिकॉर्डर किसके सामने रखा जाता है, वह ऐसी किन चीज़ों को पकड़ता है जो हमसे छूट जाती हैं और वह क्या है जिसे हम जोड़ते हैं पर, वह नहीं पकड़ पाता.  

ऑडियो डॉक्यूमेंट्रीज़ ज़मीनी हकीकतों की वे आवाज़ें, वे नरेटिवस हैं, जिन्हें हम फील्ड से आपके लिए लाते हैं. नारीवादी कथन के नज़रिए से कथेतर विधा में तैयार किया गया यह शो, नितांत निजी होते हुए भी घोर राजनीतिक है. इसमें कभी एक पिता की आत्मकथा होती है, तो कभी राजस्थान की एक अकेली महिला की कहानी, तो कभी कोविड महामारी के दौरान अकेले रह रहे लोगों की भावनाओं की झलक. ये कहानियां ज़मीन की सच्चाइयों को संवेदनशील और रचनात्मक तरीके से सामने लाती हैं
