¶ The Renewed Power of Handwritten Notes
Hello and welcome back ninjas! And I'm excited. We get we're gonna go back to some of our our roots. I guess we'll call it our roots. Uh with ninja. Why are you laughing at me already? The roots is where we're gonna.
That's good.
Gosh, they just never fail us. And they're so important right now. And we're watching it be so incredibly important right now. And it's one of our systems that was taken away from us here a while back. And everybody goes, What do
we do.
It's such a great system and we can't do it. And uh they're back. And they're back and they're back in full force. And uh Matt, you're here with me today. So let's talk about notes, handwritten notes.
Aw man, I'm mad.
Actually
Really pumped to talk about this because we did do an episode talking about what could you do in place of notes. And I thought it was great, very timely. A lot of people were worried about mail and things like that. But I've also s now seen people get kind of lazy and just kind of, oh yeah, not really doing notes. But then there are some people, and I know you have a person and I have a person that just go hard into notes and it works. So, so well. So let's let's talk about handwritten notes.
Well yeah, and I and to you know kind of talk about how they've approached notes, I wanna tell everybody out there that if you take a system, any any of the systems, especially the ones with Ninja, but I'll take any system out there for yourself and you fully embrace it and you own it and you go into it hardcore, you will see exponential results out of whatever it is that you're doing. By the way, that's positive or negative.
Like if all of you were to start binge drinking today, you will see hardcore results in the wrong direction. So it's like it works in all different directions here. But with your handwritten notes and what we're watching right now is is that We're coming out of a time we're sh we're still in a time.
where people are craving social interaction. And one of the best things that I'm watching right now is it I I refer to notes as your daily gratitudes, their outward gratitudes. They're giving gratitude to people around you. People need it right now. They're loving it. They're loving receiving a good note from somebody and knowing that somebody out there that they haven't talked to in a while is actually thinking about them.
Yeah. I love receiving notes. I mean, everybody does. I don't I haven't met somebody who's like, man, I hate it when people write to me. And
It's kind of obnoxious.
Yeah, right. And and so thinking about these times and like people like I've heard stories like when people finally had a little bit of human interaction, they're like, Oh, it felt so good. I'm like, Yes, because you got that. connection of energy that we've been missing. And the handwritten note can carry so much great energy.
And I I think that people need to double down on it. I'm actually starting to tell people if you can do double your notes, that would probably be a good thing to do. And I mean, as you said, anytime you amplify a good thing, you're gonna get even more results. And so this is I think leaning into notes right now, particularly since I think Ford conversations
are still a challenge. I'm having a lot of people saying, you know, I can only make so many phone calls. And if I'm not able to get out in public, like I'm just not seeing people and having as many conversations because my phone conversations are long. And I said, okay, well then overweight your notes. So that you can make up for that. And I think it's the right strategy right now.
Well and I think the notes too, as we've talked about in the past, but I think they they're like it's like the icing on the cake. It's like you have this great phone call with somebody. We've listened to them, not just like chatted with them on the phone. Like we've really listened to what's going on in their life right now. And then we follow it up with a note to let them know and understand that we listened to them and we heard them and what they're dealing with right now.
Like you get to just amplify the situation of the phone call too. So I I laugh because like I will I can make a phone call way faster than I can write a note. Notes in me have a special relationship with how long it takes me to write one.
Right. But the thing is with notes though is you can write them when other people are not available for phone calls, right? Like I mean it's early where you are right now and you're probably wouldn't be getting on the phone and calling people unless you're calling people on the East Coast, right? But you could write some notes right now.
No, I I to answer your question.
You can't do it now because we're recording a podcast, but
I'll wait. I'll wait. No, I'll wait. I like your idea. I'll wait though. But uh yeah, I I think that's again there's there's so much power around that opportunity and uh right now I I know there's a lot of you out there that are that are seeing a lot of business right now. I know there's a lot of you out there that are fighting for hours and time. Um Matt and I were talking about, you know, we're watching people hiring assistants right now, like a record breaking level.
'Cause they're just trying to find extra hours in the day. They're trying to streamline their businesses.
And so when you sit here and say, like, gosh, write more notes, I know some of you are out there going like, When? When in the world am I gonna write notes? And I so Matt, I like your idea of like, okay, so how can you maximize time and Some of these people were not gonna get them on the phone and and a handwritten note is a great way to have them go like, Oh my gosh, like there's there's the fries and have that opportunity to connect with them.
¶ Intent vs. Quantity in Notes
So I think that uh again, what an it's just an incredible opportunity. Now, I wanna go down a quick little path here because where this all started was I was I was on a coaching call And the topic kind of came up of like, can you send too many notes? And I've watched people over the years that have like these really in-depth
Where they're like, all right, sent a note to Matt Benelli. That means Matt Benelli doesn't get another one for six months. Nope, let's make it a year. And click the box and the CRM in one year pops up and says, Time to send a note to Matt Benelli.
That's there's a different level of that type of note to the one I just described of I just had an amazing conversation with them and I want to write a note to them to let them know that I heard them. Yeah. And I I see people get stuck in this trap, Matt. Do you see that same type of thing?
I definitely do. I am all the time, especially new ninjas. They'll say, Well, I are I wrote a note to everybody in my database. Now what? And it's like, well, write another one.
Yeah.
And it sounds strange saying that. And I think that's where you really have to think about what is your purpose behind the note, right? And if it is just to create a contact, you know, to create a touch point, then then we're missing the boat here because the note, you know, can be filled with wonderful energy and acknowledgement.
And that's really what we're looking to do. And once you step back from trying to write so many notes and just think about how can I make somebody feel good, all of a sudden you have more notes to write.
And th there again, there's there's so many people out there. I want you all to acknowledge how many people there are out there right now.
And we g and you know, I I didn't answer your question.
I was waiting for it. It was like all right, he's not gonna do it.
Like, okay, I need to answer the question here'cause I was like thinking like, wait, I went down because I I thought it was important to mention that first, but it would then when you get into then okay, can I write another note to Matt sooner than those those time points? And the answer is absolutely yes.
You can write, I think as often as you think about pen palace back in the day. You would write a note, wait for a note to come back, write a note back, and that was the way you would communicate. So notes can be sent. Very, very frequently. Think about how often you text message people and you write nice things via text. If it's okay to send that many text messages, why would it not be okay to send that many handwritten notes?
And there's some again, I know there's people out there right now that are going like, Yeah, but that's our society nowadays. Like, you know, we're we we would just send in a text and that's And and that's where the power of the note comes in. The mere fact that you sat down with one of those old fashioned pens and you actually got some paper out and we took some time to actually write something down.
Like that's the power of it. Like the mere fact that we put our energy into something like that while thinking about them to specifically make their day better. That's where the power of the note comes from. And everybody needs it right now. So again, I just want to like the agent that that shared this with me, which I loved, she said, she said, you know, when I was young, I took a trip to Europe.
And she said, While I was traveling through Europe, my mom sent me a note every day she sent a piece of mail. She says, I still have'em. This was a while back. Mom's no longer around and she still has all the notes from her trip when she was a teenager going through Europe. That's the power of a handwritten note. And again, that was one every single day, and she still hasn't. That's what I want people to take away from this today.
¶ Personalizing Your Handwritten Notes
Yeah. And so I think the answer there is if you're going to write every day, that's probably not too much. I mean, you have to have a reason, right? I think there needs to be a reason behind it. As well. And I think also w how we do the notes. And I know we've talked about this before.
And the I like the example here of the mother writing the daughter a note while she's traveling every day. And some people say, well, I'm not gonna write to my clients every day when they're traveling in Europe or whatever. But the whole point is is that's a personal note.
And I think that's why that example is so irrelevant because a lot of people get stuck with, well, like, I can only send a note with my logo on it so many times. Yeah, you're absolutely right about that. So get some other note cards that don't have your logo on it. So you can write some personal notes to people. Nothing wrong with writing notes that have your business information on it, particularly if it's to clients or things like that.
I personally don't have a problem with it, but when you're talking about amplifying your personal notes to another level, they need to be personal. Yeah. And that's where the win is.
Well, and I I'm gonna go out on a limb here and just assume that she probably did not continue receiving notes from her mom every day once she got home. Like there was a reason to be sending those notes. There was an occasion that was going on. There was a special moment in in her life
that her mom was trying to, you know, emphasize and her mom missed her and loved her and wanted to, you know, continue that that connection with her while she was, you know, in a foreign country and and bring safety and comfort into her world if she was scared or nervous or whatnot, traveling by herself. There were so many great reasons that that note went out. And I think that that's where you gotta look at your clients and be there
Yeah, no, I don't want a note from you guys every day. Please, everybody out there, do not send me a note every day just going like, hey, hey, Garrett, me again. Like, hope you're having a great start to your morning. I don't need that.
Well, but if it's a note that says, Garrett, you're a you're a rock star. Thank you so much. I mean, if there's a relevancy to send you a note every day, I mean
Do you imagine Matt if you got one, if I sent you one every day that you opened up and just said, just want to remind you how amazing you are. It was something along those lines that I just sent you every day for 30 days. How would I mean there's a certain point it'd be like, my God, he's not gonna stop. But there's another point at which if you were really coming from the heart and wanted to make somebody's world better, I think you could get away with it.
Not to everybody. I mean we wouldn't do it to a stranger. Strangers would be like this guy's lost his mind.
Who is this person? I don't even know who this person is. How does he know that I'm great? I mean I like it. That's good that's a good message to share. But yeah, that might be a little strange. I I will say this too. Like when you talk about notes like from at home, my dad used to write me notes when I was a kid because he would leave for work before I'd wake up pretty much all the time.
And every now and then there would be a note sitting at the table like where I'd have my breakfast. And I loved that. I mean, it was so powerful to me, even though I would know I would see him at some point that day or be able to talk to him on the phone because we live in the same house.
That still worked for me. So I mean, th this is this is where notes can go. I mean, imagine getting a note from your spouse in the morning. You know, if you if you got up early, you wrote a note to your spouse, so probably really like that. That's something you could do every day.
I got it. I got one. I got one like just the other day. I'll share it with you guys. She's gonna be like, Why in the hell are you sharing this? But
Yeah.
It was a it's a posted note. And I came down in the morning. We had a big long conversation the night before. We were talking about all different aspects of life and kids. And if anybody knows, raising teenagers is quite a fascinating experience. But the note says, Thank you.
says I am so incredibly thankful and just plain lucky to have you. And there's little exclamation points with little hearts on the bottom of'em. This I I've kept this note. I got this a little it was it was about a week or two ago. And I've had my desk, I've cleaned my desk a couple of times. I've taken everything off, thrown out paperwork, scrapped stuff, shredded stuff.
The this is my thing that I'm keeping on my desk. It makes me smile every single time I see it. I have not shared one of those with anybody, by the way. It's totally a personal thing. But that's the power of a note. And I think some of us we go and we overthink it and we're like, Well, what stationery am I going to use? And what you know, this it turns in this big process and the reality that was a green post it note.
That she just took the time in the evening after I'd gone to bed to write it and stick it on my desk. And it meant the world to me when I woke up and came down and read it. That that's what we're going for. That's the impact.
I love it. That's great. Nice job, Sarah. Really good.
It's the heart's on the bottom of the exclamation points. That that's my uh uh you gotta make it make it personal.
Yeah.
So, you know, when you talk about personal and'cause you mentioned stationary too. I think it's okay if you want to have nice stationary, but get started with something. Like if you're sitting there going, Oh, I can't get notes going until I have stationary
I figure it out. I'm not saying go tear a piece of paper off and send it to somebody that you've never yeah, you've been talked to in a while, because that that may not be appropriate, but you probably already know that. So I don't need to tell you that, even though I just did.
I have a gr I have a great vision of some stranger receiving a handwritten note that's ripped off the bottom of like a yellow legal pad.
All the letters are cut out from different magazines and everything. I guess that wouldn't be handwritten then. Oh man. But so notes also don't have to be super long, right? I mean, the your example there, short, I think I think right now too, if if you want a real strategy that you can deploy right now is pull up your database.
¶ Overcoming Barriers & The Energy Volley
And just start looking at those names and ask yourself, who can I write a note to? And just start writing notes and just start writing them and writing them and writing them. Address them later. Don't I don't care if you have their addresses or not, write all the notes that you want to write.
And then you can go find the addresses for them later on or go ask them later on because that's what I do. I'll sit and I'll just write a bunch of notes. And I'm like, hmm, I don't have addresses for these people I just wrote notes to. Let me go get it. And I send them an email or give them a call and say, hey, what's your address?
You know what, Matt, what you just shared is like a golden nugget. It's like a pearl of wisdom that I'm hoping people are gonna take out there and run with. Because I watch a lot of people that go to write the note and they go, I don't have their address, and they move on to the next person.
And they stop it. They stop that note from going out. Probably would be a really good note too. Like really from the heart, like they were thinking about this person. It wasn't just like a system at that point in time. But it gets shut down by that. And I I we get it all the time where people will reach out and say, Hey, I just want to send you something. What's a great what's a good address to send it to you? That is not weird. Just everybody knows out there. Calling and asking or emailing.
And asking for somebody's address is not an unusual thing in today's society. And it's a great way then to all of a sudden be able to build into your database too. So you can start to grow and grow and grow how you know and all the information you have and
On your people.
So Matt, thank you for sharing that because I think that's not done enough.
Yeah. Well the intention is to share energy, not to try to get business. Yep. And y when you Take that pause and you're like, I don't have an address or ah yeah, then you're stopping the flow of energy, which when you do that on the outbound side, it stops it on the inbound side too. If you stop your outward energy, that energy is not gonna then come back to you. And that's how this whole thing flows. You know, give the gift of that energy out there so that you can receive it back in.
One of the uh ign uh analogies I've always used with notes is uh is it like a tennis match. And there's two types of tennis matches out there. There's kill the opponent, which is a fun game, but it's not what we're talking about. And
Thanks.
Ha ha ha.
Yeah, don't take that mentality with your handwritten notes. Yeah, that one's so good there's no way they can return that. It's awesome. The the type we want is the volley. And the volley is, you know, you're gonna send that that energy out there and someone's gonna it's gonna affect them in a certain way that they're gonna send that energy back.
And a really good note will start a volley. It'll start a volley of maybe another note coming back. It might be an email that comes back. It might be a phone call. It might be a gift that comes back in return. They may you may send them a great note. They may send you a book.
Uh you may then make a phone call and all of a sudden we've got this great volley going on of energy, but notes are an incredible way to start the volley. For me, that's how I've always looked at it's like especially with newer people, is like how can I start a transfer of energy with people?
This is the cool thing too about the energy is the writing of the note creates energy in itself before you even drop it in the mail. Had this really cool thing happen to a client. who uh was like, I I'm picking back my notes up again. I really want to start to reach out to some people. And so he wrote a note.
and put it in the mail. And that same day, that person called him because they were thinking about getting started with a home search. Hadn't talked to them in a while, but wrote the note. It wasn't even on the way yet.
And they got connected. And I was like, that's no coincidence. That's not just, oh my goodness, that happened. Now, maybe that person was already thinking about this and that inspired him to write the note non-consciously, right? There was maybe an energy transfer happening before that, but that the cool thing that can happen by just actually looking at people and saying, who can I share energy with? Who can I write a note to?
forget the whole process of like how does it get sent and all that stuff. You can figure that out later. That's semantics. Logistics, there's companies that do logistics, by the way. Like logistics can be solved. Okay. Yeah. So
Don't worry about that.
Well, to go deeper with the energy for a second, I don't want to go down a rabbit hole'cause we can easily do this, but um there was a a uh a kind of a a uh game we played here a couple of years ago where I had a handful of people that I coached and we wrote down five names of people that we intended to call us that week.
And we just focused on them. Just just brought'em to our mind, thought about'em, you know, uh, you know, how do we know'em? Who are they? Who are they to our lives? That kind of stuff. And every day we would focus on them and some people put'em on the steering wheels of their cars and you know, some people attached them into their, you know, on their phones.
One of the gentlemen that I had doing it called me about three days into the into the exercise and he said, uh, you're not gonna believe what just happened. He says, they called. I said, okay, who? I could tell me more about the situation. He says, a guy that I have not talked to since kindergarten. And it wasn't a phone call, actually. Let me go back. It was a Facebook request. It was a Facebook friend w request.
He said he started thinking about this guy going like and he was like, This was the long shot. This was the person where he was like, Yeah, there's no way. Like this will be this will be the challenge. And he says, sure enough, he goes, All of a sudden my Facebook pops up with a friend request from this guy.
There is way more going on out here than you guys even remotely understand that I even understand. It's an incredible opportunity. And so when you open up these like these channels of energy. People out there going like, Oh my gosh, they're going down the the rabbit hole of energy.
Yes, we are. Absolutely.
These channels of energy, like it's amazing what will start to happen. And uh it's an it's an exponential game. that you just given that that energy of that handwritten note, it does not surprise me at all, Matt, that somebody that's really focusing on a handwritten note, like really putting strong energy into it, to have that person call before the note gets in their hand, I I believe it. Totally makes sense.
It's you know, and what you said there too about we don't understand the energy, we don't. And that's the beauty of it. Since we don't know it all about it, we know that it exists, we know that it works. in ways that and maybe somebody out there knows. Um I'm I've read a lot of books about from people who say that they know, but just the fact that it exists. Just know that, right? Have confidence in that and then
¶ Consistency and Real-World Impact
release that energy without thinking, oh, how do I turn this into a real estate transaction? And that is where I need that people just need to stop short of is going like, oh, but you know, that's this isn't working. Consistency here is going to be the key. I don't want You need to get all excited listening to this, like, yeah, I'm gonna amp up my notes and then you do it for a week and then you fall off again. Like this is something that consistency over time.
Uh, working with a new person uh in North Carolina, Lori Van Eaton, and she writes a hundred notes a month.
That's a lot.
And she gets great referrals.
I wouldn't doubt it. Well, especially if they're from the heart. If there's if it's a if it's a note mill that's just cranking notes out with no intention and no main purpose to them, just getting them out the door, believe me guys, that won't work.
Um, but if she's got her heart behind it and her intention is correct, you pump, you pump out that many notes. Like you will see incredible things happen in your world. As I said, whatever you do at that level and being consistent with it, you're gonna get crazy results.
Oh yeah. And and she totally is genuine about it, which is why it works. And I I want to share one example too before we before we wrap up here too, that I think might put some perspective around the value of handwritten notes. Cause someone who says, man, a hundred notes a month, like that, there is other things you can do with your time.
Well, the the company that I get like my vitamins and supplements from first form, every now right now it's a little bit different'cause of coronavirus, but every package has a handwritten note in it. That's Not just like a hey thanks. It's hey Matt, these are some great selections. That flavor of protein is one of my favorites.
Hope that you're doing well. You're crushing it in the gym. If there's anything that we can do for you, let us know. Like on every single package that I get, a different note from a different person who's checking that package. Now they've had And the CEO, Andy Frisello, we've talked about him before, has had people come into his company saying, This is ridiculous. Like this is inefficient. There you can pump out so much more product and send more things if you
eliminated that. You didn't have these people packaging these boxes and writing these notes. And he says, You don't understand. That is where a lot of our value comes from. That's where all of the power of our connections with our relationships come from because we care about these people. We care about our customers. We're not just trying to deliver them a product.
We're delivering them a lifestyle and we want them to know that we're here for them. And it that company is one of the fastest growing companies. Definitely in in that space and probably in this country. I mean, he just built a mega facility out there and time when other companies are contracting. So that's the power of handwritten notes at scale on that level. Imagine what it can do for your business, just personal connections that you have.
So it's interesting. I've seen that happen in two ways recently. Uh one is uh uh I love the company Olive and Coco. Um, they uh for business gifts and things like that that you send out to your clients, it's been a awesome thing that I've used over the years and when the situation arises.
And uh
Every year at the beginning of the year, I get a box from them with a handwritten personal note in it just saying, you know, hey, and it's writ got my name on it and it's very personal and you know, it br it goes back to how long we've been working together since we've been a client of theirs. and how thankful they are for our business.
And also saying we just wanted to put some treats in here for you so you can see some new things that we're adding to our lineup here for the next year. You know, can't wait to be working with you again. That means a a ton to me when that box comes in and I'm I when I get little treats for free, love treats.
Yeah. And yeah, it's always kind of fun. Little gift. And then on the inside of it again, they've actually acknowledged me and our working relationship and they're how thankful they are. So that's one. The other one that I've seen this recently is when we we were started going through this whole thing of COVID, one of uh our local restaurants.
They were trying to figure out what to do with their inventory. They were worried about all the meat and all the veggies and everything like that. And they said, Well, let's just let's get this out to our clients. We'll give them a maybe a discount on it.
and we'll just bring the fresh produce instead of us cooking it in a house, we'll bring the fresh produce and fresh food to them. And it turned into actually a a business for them. Over the last couple of months, like they are making great money
by delivering the food to people's doors, freshest produce, freshest everything that I've I've been able to buy in town. They put a a personal note on top of it saying, Thank you so much, uh, talking about just like we we appreciate you and helping us through these times and we're hoping to help you out.
And you know, Sarah even probably she goes, This was so nice to receive an like did you see they actually wrote a handwritten note to us from the owner of the company? He's writing those for every single box that goes out to people's doors. That makes a difference.
¶ Improving Handwriting and Matt's Challenge
Huge difference. And and I want to highlight handwritten Like don't substitute printed but personal, right? Yeah, we're talking literally pen in your hand or whatever whatever medium you have that you like to write with, crayons.
Yeah.
And if you don't have good handwriting,'cause I know a lot of people say, My handwriting's horrible. It's time to practice. It's time to work on it. I don't I don't have any other solution for you than well then get out a piece of paper and just start writing every single day so that you can work on improving your handwriting, so that you can write notes that are legible, but don't worry about having the perfect handwriting. My handwriting is not perfect.
And it doesn't it doesn't look nearly as good. I get some notes and I'm like, wow.
Wow.
This person has some fantastic handwriting. But when I get a note that has subpar handwriting, I don't go, huh, what how horrible is this?
Yeah, I've had to like okay, what like what letters could that one I think that's an L and that's is that an F? No, it's K.
Yeah.
That's right.
If that's your handwriting, you have to practice.
Here's the thing I know about myself. I have the most fascinating handwriting in the world if I don't slow down. If it's just me writing, like when I'm taking notes and move on a conference call and I'm just scribbling notes and I'll come back with my wife, who's my business partner, and I'm like, okay, I've got my notes. And she goes, Great, tell me what you got. I can't even read my own notes. I'm like, why in the world did I bother taking notes if I can't even read what I wrote down?
So I know what I can do when I'm moving fast. I also know, and if you watch anybody who has really clean, clear handwriting. They're slow. They slow down. I don't know anybody that blasts out really good handwriting as fast as we're trying to get it down, but like
I know that's that's my issue. It's not that I don't have good handwriting, and I think all of you guys have the ability of having good handwriting. Just slow down. Slow down for a second. Take your time with the note. And I guarantee you you will have legible handwriting. The ones that just go like my handwriting stinks and I'm going to own it. That's you not wanting to slow down. I'll just put it out that way. Just slow down for a second.
Yeah, I I agree. That's you making excuses. Uh really, you're making excuses. Slow down a little bit and why not spend a little more time with the energy anyway? I mean Yes, we know that handwritten notes take longer than other things. That's the whole point. There's a reason it's actually a good thing that it takes more time than other things. Like I was I trimmed out a few extra notes this week.
And I was writing and I was like, man, I'm I'm running up on the edge of this time block that I have available to get this done. But it was worth it, totally worth it.
Yeah. If you anybody wants to do a little experiment out there, take the statement, I love my dog. And do it two ways. See how fast you can write I love my dog and then slow down and see how nice you can make I love my dog look. You all of you have the ability of writing legibly so people can read what you're saying. And Matt, I think what you're saying is your practice, I think is exactly what you need to do. Don't practice on the client, don't practice on your friends.
sit down in the evening and say, look, what do I need to do to have nice handwriting so that people can read it? And if you're going to write in all you know uh capital letters because that's what comes out really clear for you, have fun with it.
Yeah. And one thing that I do to help too, this may maybe this helps you, maybe it doesn't. I write out my gratitudes every morning. One, I I like the exercise, but it also helps my handwriting because I get, you know, I'm getting the practice of writing.
And I think it's very helpful. So if you're looking for a way to elevate and practice, write your gratitudes out every morning because you get a double whammy there. You get to practice your handwriting and you get to spend a little bit more time with that that positive energy to start your
Day. Yeah, another thing I've noticed too that works for me is I write Clearer and slower with a pencil. So when I do my handwritten notes lately, I've been making sure and I've I've gone back and forth. I'm like, God, there's so many studies out there that say use a use a ballpoint pen, use a blue pen, because it's original, all this stuff. I know that I can make it look really nice and my handwriting is really crystal clear.
with a pencil and the reason for it is is it makes me slow down. The drag of the pencil on the paper makes my hand not go into like whirlwind mode. More like a really fast rollerball? Oh man, you wanna not be able to read anything that I wrote? Ha ha.
Get one of those really smooth, fast pens. So I mean, that's just what I've noticed for myself. And so once I noticed it, and you know, I went and bought a box of pencils and I bought myself a nice little sharpener and I'm like, you know what? I'm ditching the pens. Because I can read and I can be more efficient and I can write better with a pencil. If that's your thing and you figure that out about yourself, don't get stuck on it. Use a pencil. Make it so it works for you.
Absolutely. That's getting pretty technical there. I like that.
Yeah.
This is where I go when I'm by myself.
So I'm gonna throw this I'm gonna throw this out there. If you're struggling with handwritten notes, um, wanna see an example of a handwritten note, let me know and I will write you a handwritten note. If you wanna make it even more fun, how about you write me a handwritten note and I'll respond to your note with a note. I'm gearing myself up for writing a bunch of notes here, but
I challenge everybody listening to this podcast to email Matt and say, I would love to have a handwritten note for you from you.
Do it. I dare you.
Oh Please do it. Please for me. I wanna have
Here's the thing. If you're gonna have me write you a note. then you got to send two extra notes to somebody else. You got to pay it forward. I don't you don't have to write me back. I don't, I don't, I don't want you necessarily writing me back. I want you to pay that energy forward to two people. Okay. So if you're going to ask me to write you a note, I want you to pay it forward to two people and because you're gonna email me, I'm gonna check up on you on
I I love the challenge, Matt. I'm not involved in this. I wanna just uh put that out there to everybody that this is Matt's challenge. I would love an email from you. You're welcome to send me a personal email. Um I am not involved in the challenge.
