El Sombrerón is a legend that may or may not be true from The Kʼicheʼ people . He is sometimes known as Tzitzimime or the Groom of the Underworld, El Sombrerón is a small, goblin creature known for his mischievous and sometimes malicious behavior. The name "El Sombrerón" translates to "the one with the hat" in Spanish, referring to the character's distinctive hat.

The Kʼicheʼ people are an indigenous group who primarily reside in the highlands of Guatemala. They are one of the largest indigenous communities in Guatemala and have a long history and strong cultural presence in the region. The Kʼicheʼ people predominantly inhabit the departments of Quetzaltenango, Totonicapán, Sololá, and Chimaltenango, as well as other nearby areas.
