The Eagles beat the
Dolphins tonight thirty one seventeen. Jalen Hurst was twenty three or thirty one two seventy nine, two passing touchdowns, A rushing touchdown, did have that pick six aj Brown, ten catches on fifteen targets above thirty seven and a touchdown. Let's take the Eagles first. What did you like? What didn't you like?
You know what?
At first, I can tell you in the first half, I thought it was going to be before the game even started, I thought of the high scoing game.
I'm thinking forty thirty five some points.
Obviously with both with both offenses high octane. Obviously, the Dolphins run game was stifled in the first half. The Eagles didn't seem to be intimidated, you know, with the challenge in facing Tyreek.
Obviously he did.
He did get away a few few times, obviously scoring on scoring once. The Philly defense controlled the line of scrimmage, which is really good throughout the second quarter, and they really came on once the Dolphins fell behind in the second half, where the Dolphins had to throw the ball to to try to get back in the game and try and try to make it, try to make it a game. But obviously they couldn't do that. So the Eagles played decent football. Obviously, the turnover from hurts. You
can't you can't do that. You don't want that, especially in the game of this magnitude. And if if it wasn't for that defensive line and how good they were and the Eagles being ahead, it could have been it could have been a lot different and the outcome of the game could have been different, you know, due to that interception. But they played so well defensively they were able to overcome it.
Yeah, I like what I saw.
They started getting aj Brown involved in the ball game late in the ball game, and I think that's where it's frustration coming. Like, guys, if y'all can get me the ball in the third and fourth quarter, you damn shouldn't get it to him in the first half. And you see in the first half they were middling. It seems like they couldn't get it, couldn't get on rhythm.
And the moment jaylen Hurst said, you know what, man, let me feed this man this rock, the offense started going because the Eagles didn't run the.
Ball as well as that.
We know the Eagles can run the football, so I thought Mammy did a great job of that of taking away of the run because the Eagles want to run the football and then set play action up off of that. But I thought the Dolphins did a great job of controlling the line of scrimmage as far as running the football, and they got after him. Also, Chubb had a sack I think fifteen I forget his name. On the other side, he had a couple of sacks. Yeah, Phillips did a
great job of pressure. As a matter of fact, he got a sack for Lane Johnson for the first time somebody's gotten a sack off of him since twenty twenty, so that lets you know what type of pass rusher that he is.
But I did notice something early on. I saw Jalen Hurst limping.
He scrambled, tried to get out, he got out of the pocket, he got a first down, but he kind of pulled up gimpe. He came out in the second half with the knee breaks. I don't know if anybody saw it, but I saw.
You.
You know, quarterbacks, if they're not customary used to wear the knee brace, they're not putting anything on.
They like to feel free. They like to be able to put right.
Not just quarterbacks, everybody, I mean wide receivers doesn't like ward knee braces up. If you don't spatch your ankles, you don't like having tape the ankles or anything like that. You don't want it right, You don't want to feel restricted. But I thought once he settled in, I thought jalen Hurst, once he settled in, he did he played really well. But again we see that that that turnover margin, that intercession is steadily increasing, O Joe, because.
Last year in seventeen games he only had six picks. He got eight.
Right now we're not even at the midway point, so I'm sure that's something that they're talking about.
They're constantly on him about.
Guys, as we get the Cowboys are coming up coming up here shortly, and the one thing one of their defense do they pride themselves on taking the ball away, putting their offense.
On a very short field.
I think one of the things you also have to notice is obviously that pick. It wasn't like someone was being covered and it just actually picked off, but it was a tipball trying to get to somebody in Jerome. Baker was was able to get his hands on the tip ball.
It was unfortunate.
If anything, I think you could just do that one the way through it that just threw it in the grass or whatnot. But on the Dolphins end. On the Dolphins end is this is more of a win for them still, even though they did lose a game. To be able to keep a game that close, playing a team like that and you didn't have Xamia Howard, didn't have Jalen Ramsey, who would be back maybe next week or maybe after week.
The week after, it is a good thing.
It's a good thing because the backups played extremely, extremely, extremely well for the Dolphins. And when you get those two back in your arsenal, who's knowing what that's going to do for your defense?
Right?
With two turnos tonight, Jalen Hurst has ten turner was on the season. That's second most in the NFL, trailing only Desmond Ritterer, who has eleven. Last year, Jalen Hursts had eight interceptions all season long and he has ten already. Turnover Yeah, ten turnovers total. He had two more turnovers tonight. Two was twenty three or thirty two two sixteen one touchdown won an exception And I don't Miami is gonna need to show me something against different competition.
Now.
We see what they did to the Denver, we saw what they did to the Panthers. We see what they did to the Giants and the Patriots. But when they step up in competition, the Eagles, the Bills, we see them get handled. So in order for if they if they want you to, if they want us to take them serious, they're gonna have to be teams because I'm not so sure how many teams that we think that they they've beaten. We think the Broncos are gonna make
the playoffs, what about the Giants? What about the Panthers? Maybe the Chargers, maybe the Chargers, maybe Patriots. I don't think the Patriots are gonna make it, the Chargers maybe.
The charges of two and four right now, so it ain't looking too hot.
It ain't look it ain't looking promising for them either.
So what we've seen is that when they step up in competition, Remember they hang seventy old Denver one week, and then they get almost a fifty spot hung on them the following week, right, and then tonight Miami, Miami Philly steps on the gas and all they see is tail lights. So Miami is gonna have to pick it up when they step up in competition, right.
I think the only problem with Miami is I think they needed to start faster. They need to start faster. And when you're playing better teams that are that are really good defensively, like the Eagles, the first half, they were nowhere to be seen. They were nolready be seen. They were stifled in the first half. They couldn't really run the ball that we want to. They didn't get in the flow offensively is being able to throw it and facilitate the ball the way they like. There were
no little Denson dunks, little passes here and there. But Tyreek didn't get going the way he could. Jayn'wato didn't get going the way he could as well, until more so in the second half. I think if they start faster, then there won't be as much pressure. You don't have to play from behind like they were in this game.
Oh yeah, but Tyreek did drop a touchdown. He did drop a first down.
And listen, I don't even call I'm not even calling that touchdown that dropped for the touchdown, he was.
Moving so goddamn fay. Oh, listen to me.
Tyreek was moving so goddamn fast. He was bringing the ball in and his knee hit the ball out.
But see, and I went back when he said a couple of years ago, he said. A couple of years ago, I said this. I said that Steve Smith Senior, now with you Know Smittee, we were on and I said, I don't think Tyreek is a natural and natural catcher of the football, meaning his hands like a Davonte, like some of the great receivers that we've seen. That doesn't mean he's not great. You know what I'm saying. Everybody doesn't. I mean somebody, some wide receiver might not have great speed.
Jared didn't have great speed, but that didn't diminish his greatness.
Great Jay Rice had what I like to call football speed.
Yes, a laugh, Fitzgerald, there have been Chris Carter, there have been some great receivers that didn't have Tyreek speed.
He took it and said, well, I'm trying to diminish him.
No, Bro, you don't have to possess all the physical tools in wanted to be great. And and I'm like, Bro, I was thinking about it, Like, Bro, you was on my podcast. If you feel some type of way you had to be right there. You could have talked to me either on the podcasting, Bro, I'm gonna rough up bout you right quick, or you could have talked to me after, because you know you came with your family. We talked you know, you the fact before we went
before we got on the pod. So like like I said, God, if you got a problem with something, I said, listen to the context in which I said it. I didn't say you weren't great. I said, I don't believe you are a natural catcher of the football meaning hands.
And that's okay, he's okay. I saw him before the game today.
I was field sided obviously, you know, I was doing my little eight little madd and stuff. But I saw him before the game. I actually saw all the players before the game and he didn't mention anything. He didn't mentioning about it. So so everything was cool on that end. But listen, when it comes to catching the ball, obviously it's situational. There's some some some people are more comfortable catching with catching with the.
Good body, and that's o jo And that's okay.
Okay, because there's one there's one goal in common for all receivers. You got to be able to catch the ball right, you know how it is on you and it's based on the situation that at.
The time ass yes, yes, because there are some quarterbacks. That's that's not a natural throw of the football, right. You take Aaron Rodgers, He's just a natural thrower.
Of the football that he born. We born with that.
Yeah, Aaron Rodgers can be sixty years old and he might not be able to throw it but thirty yards, but it'd be nice and tight, yeah, because he's just
that gifted at throwing the football. The Chiefs beat the Chargers thirty one seventeen, Patrick Mahomes thirty two or forty two four twenty four four testdowns, one interception, Mahon boys back on top of the afc oh Joe I tweeted something today, if we keep labeling these quarterbacks elite, we're gonna have to call Mahome something else because his level of greatness is. I mean, when you watch him play and he's dealing, it's not even close between him and anybody else.
Listen, he was dealing like he was in the Casino and Goddamn Vegas game. He played for getting the ball past, facilitating the ball around to everybody. So defensively, it makes it that much more difficult. Who can you key on? Because if you key on Kelsey, somebody else is hurting you I'm.
Gonna let somebody else hurt me. I'm gonna let somebody else hurt me. I ain't gonna let Kelsey kill me on National tight Ends Day, and he han't have been.
A tight end.
This is the funny thing about it. Patrick Mahomes is so great. Patrick Mahomes is so gifted. If you do if you do key on Kelsey, then you got to pick your poison because the person at the helm holding the football is gonna kill your regards to what you choose to do defensively.
And it's amazing.
It's amazing, Oh Joe, how he's been able to Trent to have you bene to to change his game because when he had Tyreek, Tyreek could blow the top off the coverage.
He could throw the ball sixty yards over your head.
Now he really doesn't have a guy that can consistently get down the field like that. So now it's more ten yards here, jail break screen, shovel pass, flat route.
Okay, let me scramble out side, make ad live.
He's he's his big deep threat target has been taken away, and he's still last year gold to win the MVP, Golden win the Super Bowl MVP. That just goes to show you the level of greatness that he doesn't miss a beat when you take one of the greatest weapons and put an NFL history away from him, right, and he's still able to do what he does. I thought he was gonna go for five bills today because he had like three twenty something, three twenty five, three thirty at the half of the half.
So I was like, oh, yeah, he about to come out, he about to come out.
Give them and to reading them.
I think they they came off the peder a little bit. I think they came off the gas a little bit. And I think when it comes to coaches, I think they have a pack where they don't just blamely disrespect the opponent to an extent, I just have a feel, have a feeling because they could have easily Patrick Haud a easy.
Thrown for five. Listen, I wouldn't. I wouldn't.
I wouldn't go behind say he could have threw for six if he wanted to. If they were if they were to step on the gas and keep running the offense the same way they were in the first half, they could have done that.
But here's the thing to O Joe is that that's what kind of got Atlanta in trouble in.
The Super Bowl.
Your three and you keep running, you keep your foot on the gas, and all of a sudden you get a script sack, you get a pick six, you start taking unnecessary risks. So and it says, okay, let's take let's take a check down, let's take a flat route, let's not do anything crazy because our defense is playing so well. And give kudos to Kansas City and Steve Spagnola with that defense. They've done a great job this year. And Patrick Mahonmes for the most part, has done a
great job of not putting them in the harms way. Now, he did throw one early in the ball game and Sante Samuels came down with it, but it was kind of like a punt. It wasn't it wasn't in negative territory. But the Chiefs are playing really well right now. I think if you had to take a vote, I think most people would vote them number one in the AFC. And no surprise, Mahomes is always gonna be hovering around that MVP tour. I think before today's game, tour was
the MVP favorite alled by uh Mahomes. Lamar Lamar is definitely creep back, and we're gonna talk about him a little later. But I thought Travis was gonna break my record on National Tight Ends Day he had one hundred.
And he wouldn't do you like that. He wouldn't do like But what's what's the record? You're twelve two.
Nineteen, right, fourteen twelve or two fourteen? You was cooking, was cooking against Kansas City. You gotta telling people that. You gotta telling people that story. The people that don't know you know about your record now. But here's the thing though, O Joe. The funny thing is I had thirty one yards at the half.
That's it.
That's it.
I had thirty one yards at the have and I remember all that. You got all that on the back end, got it, got into the back end. We came out, We came out to half, uh and Cool said we're gonna call call counterpass, and we called kind of kind of called counterpass. We knew Greg was gonna start the game out with cover two. I get down the hole. I split it because I Greg Robinson rest his soul. He used to be our defensive coordinator when we won the super Bow. He was out DC and I remember
telling him. I was like, Greg, if I ever faced this defense, I would kill you guys. He's like, oh no, Shannon, the defense, I said, Greg, I say, some of the things that you do is just unsound. I said, if you, if you if somebody had a tight end that was as gifted, that could run and was fluid, I'm telling you, low and behold. I get I get Greg. He's the defensive coordinator at Kansas City Man and you know, oh Jo,
once you get going, yeah, the ball, the football. I mean I could see Paul Taggingbou spinning on the ball. That's how laser focused I was in on the ball. Really, it looks like, yeah, yeah, it didn't matter what Greeci to throw. Grease could throw it off the top of my shoe. I catched it off the top of my shoe. I was just everything. It just it was just one of those days. And then I was like he got one forty three and a half.
I was like wow.
And then the Chargers like, nah, we got to take you away because you single handily for a tight end and a half. Now you know, I've had I think I had a game. We played Carolina one year in ninety seven. I think I had one fifty four at the half, but that's a lot of catching for a tight end. And they started doing the same thing. They started doubling me and the games out of the hand.
But if you notice four games Taylor Swift has attended, Travis Kelcey is averaging one hundred and eight yards receiving per game. In the game that she hasn't attended, he's averaging less than forty seven. Now, I don't know if they're a relationship or not, but I got some money for it. She come every time she come here with a hundred thigh.
Hey, listen, one hundred thounds. I like like, I like that.
You know we're on a football topic right now, but I want you to look. Just stay with me real quick. I want you to understand what the presence of Taylor Swift has done for Travis Kelsey.
Not only on the field.
Yeah, off the field, things for him have just been in his favor, and God always has favor. But God said, and find it a woman. He didn't even got to the white part yet, but the blessings and his coup is continued to run it over. I just want you to see where I'm going with this, but I'm gonna talk. I'm gonna get back on that later.
But just just understand, you didn't know you my Taylors will since you came into about life with this, Taylor, I don't I don't you you Saylor.
Hey, listen, I appreciate you. I love you again for the opportunity, and I'm glad. I'm glad we're doing well. But I'm talking about for us to get for you, for you personally, because I'm here for you. God put me in this position, and God put me your life to get you in a position that you've never even envisioned before.
In order for you to get there, it's gonna take a woman's touch. You know.
It's like your pencil. You can write with your pencil, right, Yeah, you got it right, just fine. But something about when you when you get a woman on your side and she's sharp.
In that mother uncle.
Mans, Let's let's stick to football right now. We can't get off we can't get off track.
What happened to what happened to the woman? Every time I write something to you, erase it. What I do with that one?
You ain't gonna have that problem. You ain't gonna have a.
Problem because the woman, the woman that you're gonna deal with now at this point in life, they're gonna understand, you know. They they are They are here to sacrifice and understand the journey in what you are about to embark on, and they are willing to enjoy and take that ride with you.
But if I know, yeah, I hear you. If I'm Travis Kelsey, she coming to the games?
O'kay? What y'all say? I ain't coming to the games like that?
She can't come to the game or she coming?
Let me ask you a question. Let's just say, this is.
Our game right here. You got to you got an extra seat in there.
Yeah, so let me ask you this.
Let's just say, for the Sega argument before you met Rail, you playing and you have a girl show up to the game and you go for you go for ten for one and two touchdowns and she come to the next she come to another game and you go for eight for a buck fifty of a tub. Is she is she coming to the next game? Or you say, nah, mabe, you chill a little bit.
Now she she comes, she comes to.
Coming.
Yeah, you know I'm not really I'm not really superstitious. So if I remember, I put together a string of games like that. We played San Diego had two sixty. Then we played in New Orleans the following week and it had one ninety. And I think it was maybe five five hundred almost six hundred yards in the two games span, with like five touchdowns.
Right.
But then when I think about it, there was nobody coming to them games. And I thought about the game plan that they had in place for me. I thought I was more so on why that I had the games that I did. But but that's that's a good one. That's a good one. And Travis got it. She got to come to home games. You got to go to away games.
Don't you worry about it? Staffing the jet up, don't you worry?
Don't you don't you spend your I'm gaffing this jet up here. As a matter of fact, a Clark Hunt is paying for the game after it. This is the Chiefs, the chief owner. He got the This was on him. Baby, Just come on and come ask your question. What's your highest ranking? Oh, Maddie, what's the highest have you been ranked? Hi?
Has I been ranked?
Yeah?
I think if I'm not mistaken, A ninety eight. Overall, I think I'm yeah, yeah, yeah, I was.
Listen, I was that boy back.
In the day.
Now I was, I was nice.
I think you know it for me, and I'm un I'm gonna be I'm gonna really be honest with you. I don't think people understand really how good I was unless you are really a football person, because the antics and.
The fun and entertainment that I had taken.
Away from all the hard work I actually put in to be able to pull some of the ship I did off.
And I'm just being honest.
And that's the next for people, even that, even even the most highest analysts are those that have been watching the game for years, they allow the antics and entertainment to get away from actually how good I was.
Well, that's I mean, that happens because but I.
Like it, like that, I enjoyed that. I enjoyed it. Now, that's what I wanted to remember for so it is what it is.
Well, that's what happens.
I mean, they say, well, he just talked, he's loud, he's braggadocious and all that. But and so now when the NFL has started this National tight Ends Day and the NFL started posting clips and people like hold on, okay, now see why uncle was.
Like that for real boy nine yeah.
But here's the thing though, Oh Joe, see you was a ninety eight. I was one of the few guys that's ever been a hundo. Yeah but nine, yeah, for sure, I was a hundy run tell that for real, A hund.
Nine.
Yeah.
I need me, I need me some shoes. This set a hunding because they ain't the gold shoes.
No.
One hundred gotta be platinum. Goal is for ninety nine. I need platinum shoes.
I got, I gotta.
I gotta check the archive I got, I got you. I gotta check the boat I never heard.
And no hundred because normally because normally during the game, I will red shoes because I clown foods.
That what I did, for for real, the old joke that good. I said. Look here, let me tell you what I'm gonna do.
I'm gonna give it to you the first half because you're gonna be jealous that I didn't give you any so I'm gonna give it to you the second half.
But all y'all gonna get it all.
Y'all about to get all this here, so don't worry about it.
Don't worry telling my ship.
Don't tell him to shut up and stop talking to me, because I'm about to start talking to you.
I'm about to hit you up too.
Oh yeah, you get I got I got to do my home right.
I ain't never I know you didn't.
And after that, nobody else could ever get a Hundie. They never after ninety nine. They cut it out. After ninety nine, that cut it out. No no more Hondy.
You're the last hundred damn last one.
Okay, after meat there will be no more.
Okay. I like that.
I like that.
I it's yeah, it's a note to nine.
It's all this up there right now.
They're looking at it when they got the ninety nine tight ends like Grunk was ninety nine for a couple of years. Kelsey's been ninety nine for a couple of years. But the first guy out there, you're better stop playing with me. Somebody cat to be played like a kitten.
Somebody got to send that to my phone, man, somebody got to send that to my phone.
And on, hold on, that's like that's like hold on, that's like being in the grocery store and starving.
How the hell you along on the grocery store and star you working the a.
And you talking about ninety nine, ninety nine. I was still I was still in high school in ninety nine, so I know you. I gotta go back. I gotta go back.
And that's how long I been kicking folk.
When you was in junior high I was cooking them.
I used to go.
I keep telling you. People used to see me on the field with the pains with a pot. Man, what you got that part myself in the cook you fools. That's why I got this pot out here.
On the field.
I'm cooking crabs today. Yes, it's a low country ball. I got crammed, I got a sausage. I got carn on the car like potatoes.
All you bombs getting it sound like gumbo to me.
Yeah, I'm giving it to him. So pull up a table, because I'm about to make a mess all of you.
Oh man, yeah.
Oh hey check this out. Did you see Taylor swiping Brittany Mahomes handshake?
Yeah that's all I Love's cool? The hey they need a little choreography.
That, Yeah, I think that's the something you need to probably be. No, No, Taylor, you're the entertainer. Great at what you do. You rehearse the move. You just don't come out. You didn't come to so far and have them foth showed out, so I shows five, so that shows and just got up there and wing it.
You got it?
You like, hey, bread, check this out. I'm coming over. This is what we're gonna do. If Patrick throws a touchdown, This is what we're gonna do. If Travis Ketcher catches a touchdown. This is what we're gonna do. This is how we're gonna hit them up. You can't get there and getting there like okay, what but you know Britain is not there entertainer, that tailor is, so she probably like them.
What did she say? Do we slap hands first and then.
Chest bump or do we slap you grab hands, you know, spin around, click out heels and then she forgot it?
Effort, let's go.
They gotta work. They got to work on something.
They gotta work on something, because you know, you got the eyes on you already. If Travis Kelsey scores, if Patrick Mahomes does something, they're going to the cameras are gonna be on you. So you got to be point. You got to be on point. You got to steal the show. You got to be almost like every moment counts.
Yeah, you almost got to be like Lebron because Lebron got a different handshake for every teammate.
Everybody, everybody, him and ad got one.
This one got one, the coach got one, the trainer's got one, the folk dog got one.
You know.
The funny thing about it when I see Lebron do the handshakes, everybody, every handshake is different and they never mess up.
Yes they yeah, but see Lebron is so he's so disciplined and he's so like, I gotta get it right.
Oh they practice that every single day.
Oh they gonna do you know when you see all the guys they doing this and when damn do it? Hey, you you rehearsed that because in college, me and the other receiver I was number I wore number two, he wore number three, and we had you know, we had our thing that every time we scored, which was a bunch I scored.
A lot, right right, But back then you know who there it is.
I'm saying, no, yo, Dad again, another one like J. J. Kellen before before calling and another one. Yeah, yeah, he kept coming yeah for sure, But uh, you have a hand Did you have a hand handshake celebration with a teammates I had.
Don't know. I ain't had no handshake celebration.
You know.
I did all kind of using props and all kind of kinds of stuff I ain't had no business doing. So I pissed the NFL off, and I'm okay with that. If I could do it again, I do the same stuff all over.
I think, you know, I was like, man, I'm gonna get the fan. I think I threw a ball up in the stands and I got that. They called me twenty five hundred. I said, a twenty five hundred, four hundred twenty five of these things. I ain't throwing no one for them.
Yeah, let's and you got to think if you throw a football in the stands and it hit, let's say it hits a fan.
Yeah, actually come back and soon you know that, right?
Yeah?
Yeah, And that's that's what they're concerned about. Liability. People fighting for the ball and somebody get hurt.
So I get it.
I get the principle of the matter. That Look, I understand you want you to get the fans, and the fans love that keeps saying, because this is an actual ball that Shannon Sharp or o Cho Sink or somebody actually scored, scored, scored a touchdown, or they got to pick recover the fumble. They did something special, And I have this. This is something that I'm going to have for the rest of my life. So I get what the NFL is trying to do. Oh Joe, did you
know this? We got twenty one thousand people watching us live as we speak.
Twenty one thousand right now, right now.
Well, you bullshit, man. I ain't never.
I ain't never had twenty one thousand people watching me at one point ever in life.
The game? What a boy?
The game?
Do that?
I mean, Cincinnati, y'all don't have that fifteen thousand fans that sold our stadium.
We didn't know, we didn't. I made sure I stay them for sol Out every time. Don't do me like that, even even even we were losing.
I made sure stating with sol Out because if you were paying a ticket to come see entertainment, exactly what you do.
But twenty one thousand people like this camera and I ain't never. Hey, if y'all can see me, I love y'all.
Y'all see me.
Can they see you? They can see me?
Yeah?
I love y'all.
What they all for all forty t you got your win?
What they do? What they do twin. I love y'all. I thank y'all. If you can see me, Hey, call me if you need me. My number is still the same. Seven eighty six six two eight eighty five twenty.
That's how much. That's how much I love y'all. If y'all ever need anything, man holler at me. I'm here for you. I might say no, but you.
Run, y'all. Y'all been running. Call that number and wake somebody up to sleep it. They're gonna cush y'all. Ass out that was real.
That was real.
Second phone number, Well you got that.

Oh Joe, let me ask you this, Oh Joe, We will a little later on this. But there's a woman that recorded herself refusing to get out of a car because her date took it to the cheesecake factory.
Oh what's wrong with cheese cake?
She said? It's a chain? So is mascros? So is them print goals? So is uh? What's the what's that other?
One?
Catch? Catch La? That's a chain?
Waally's is a chain, Ruth Chris is a chain, Joe's crab shot is a chain.
So let me ask you a question. Have you ever had a situation what would you do? Now?
I'm this Ojo, you drive up, you pull up and she's like, okay, heybaby, we're here, or you meet Because until I got to La O Joe, I had never I had never not gone I don't know if I could use double negative, but I have always gone to the ladies home to pick her up or to her apartment or pick her up from a parents' house.
I never like and when I got there, lady, it's like, Okay, I'll just meet you.
I was like, and now you know, it's donalka, you don't ay, they don't know me like that, so it's cool. But before I got to la I would always go pick.
The young lady up.
So now you get to the state, whether you pick her up or you meet her there and she's and she gets there and she's like, well, I ain't getting out because.
Is here this is beneath me.
Yeah. For one, that that is a woman that's really not.
Interested in you and general. Yeah, for sure, that's just a woman not interested in you in general. And most of the time, obviously it's the era that we're in right now.
Men are are are being I don't want to.
Say you for food, but if you have to go to these high end restaurants. Yeah, first days, to prove.
That everybody ain't got it like oh yo, everybody ain't making seven pigures. Everybody ain't got it like that to go drop two three hundred dollars on a meal, damn.
It makes it makes no sense.
If you got to leave with money, if you have to leave, if you have to lead with money, if you have to leave with money, you already know what time. You already know what, you already know what the it's at this point.
If I got first of all, I'm a firm believer in this, o Joe. If I got to borrow my brother's car, if I got to borrow a homeboy car, if I got to borrow money to take somebody on the date, they not for me. They not for me. Because all I can do is this is what. This is a singular act. Because I'm not gonna borrow money every time to take you somewhere. I'm not gonna borrow
my brothers or my homeboy's car to take you somewhere. Man, Oh your man, Look, I want to tell you this story, Oh Joe, I don't even want to tell you the story.
What happened to me?
You got to give it to me. Come on, man, give it to me.
Oh this was this was the nineteen ninety.
I met this young lady and she's so and she's like, we're gonna go We're gonna go out. I was like, okay, now't your mind you now, I'm only making sixty three five. I got a three hundred and thirty five dollars four door Blazer payment. I think my my my rent at Mill Pond in Denver. I think it was about five fifty plus. You know, I got to you know, take you know, take care of my send money home for my grandmother, my sister. I'm helping my girlfriend who's going
to school. I'm helping her. I'm paying for her to go to school. So I ain't got a whole lot of money. But you know what I say, you know what I'm gonna do. I'm gonna deny myself something to get her a nice, nice little bit, you know, get a nice little meal. So we get there, and so you know, I'm gonna order something, but I'm not gonna get what I would normally get, but I'm gonna get something a little down just in case she goes up. So we get there and so you know, we get
a little appetized. I think back then I was in the caesar salad. Now I had never had a really had caesar salad. So I got your little caesar salad. You know, I got ordered caesar. She got something, and so the server comes back says, you Knowky, you're ready to order. I'm like, yeah, so I got I think I think I got something, probably cost like thirty forty dollars, and so, oh.
Joe, she got the menu and she just looking. I'm like, we damn what she gonna order.
I say, I say, you're gonna go ahead, You're gonna order something. She say, uh, I'm trying to figure out what go with?
What go with?
Lobster?
I say, condoms? I said, cause if you order that, we're gonna have sex tonight. Needless to say, needless to say, she didn't order that, and I never saw her again.
Real I put that on everything.
Oh Joe, see on, y'all you mad, you get me on here on you I'll get over here with you, man, and you have me be telling a story. Man, I was supposed to take this to my grade. Bad talk about you tried to figure out what'll go with? Lofter condoms.
Hey, what going lost again?
Condoms?
Cause we having second If you order that lofter, I ain't got bread like that.
On Joe, I can.
See if I was making if I came in, I'm a first round or second round draft pick, because back then, the first round draft pick got like a million dollars signing bonus. Oh Joe, I came in. They gave me like twenty two than five hundred dollars.
Okay, you got to make you gotta make that stretch man.
Yeah, when when? When?
When they when they take the taxes out of it? Not ain't a whole lot of money. So check this out, o yoe. When I got my signing bonus, I sent it to my brother. I ain't open a checking the account. I ain't open. I sent it to my brother. He said, hey, when you get your money, I say, hey, said I sent it to him. He's and so at this point in time, I gotta go. I gotta get a car and that, oh Joe. And they said, man, you need an s u V. See back then, I ain't no
no s uv. Was you got a car or you had a truck.
That's what it was.
There wasn't no SUV. You got a car or you got a truck. So I'm like, I'm playing it off, like I know what they're talking about. I said, So I called him. I said, spank, That's what I called me.
That's my brother.
That's a nickname, Spanky, I said, spank. Man, they say I need a s UV. What's the sub? He said, that's a sports utility vehicle. I said, what's that? He said, Man, it's like a it's like a Blazer, it's like a Bronco.
I said, oh, oh, okay, okay.
So I go to I go to the Chevy dealer dealership. He said, go tomorrow. Because what happened was a teammate of mine had made me late.
I had never been late, and you.
Can't rely on that. You can't rely on him.
Because he was he was trying to do something, and so man, I called my brother. I was kind of like, I was like, man, I'm a seventh a round draft pick, so you know, I ain't got no margin forever.
Oh Joe, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Oh.
I called my brother. I said, man, I said, bro, I think I think I messed up. He said, what happened? I said, Man, you know I've been catching the ride to him from training camp and uh, the guy you know he was. We were late and coach coach Reeves. Coach Reeves read me. Coach Reeve says, I told you, He says, don't cut yourself. Let me do that. Being late,
not knowing your assignments is how you cut yourself. So he said, when you get back to then, because this was like like the like the last couple of days before training camp, you know, training camp breaks. He says, as soon as you get back the moment you get free time, you take your butt and you go, get you you go, and so I go.
I try to get it. Credit bad.
Credit, Ohoe, so low that man say he needed a crane out back to pull my credits card up.
That's how low it will go, Joe.
How low is your credits go back? Then? Just in the five.
Probably about a quarter? God damn, man, let me take you, man, let me tell you what happened.
Man. Man, you know how old Joe?
You know you in college and then look they send you the little credit card application.
I have a full gas card. I had J C. Penny Sis and roll buck about self credit cards.
Listen, listen, my mama, my mama. Man black bless her hard man, rest in peace.
Man.
I had a Washington dry in my name and I didn't even know it out when I was a little When I was a little baby, I had to Washington.
So you know, oho, I go to the league.
I give all the credit cards to my sister, right, she done charge the credit cards on, don't tell me, and then cut them up.
I say, cut them up. They gonna do nothing.
The people still want their money. Yeah, man, that thing that's gone. Man, my credit so low. So now I got I'm in the NFL, and I got to get a cold signon.
Mmmm. Yeah, you got you gotta get y'all. You gotta gotta fix that credit. Man.
That takes long too. You know what, Listen, that's that's a that's a game. It's a game in itself. Yeah, but a game of discipline.
Yes, yeah, But I worked. I worked my way up out of that thing. I worked my way out of that. But y'all, ladies out did Look. I understand that you want to be treated nice, but everybody ain't making bread. Like no professional athlete. Everybody ain't got no six or no seven figure jobs. Some of these dudes making seventy five thousand seventy five thousand to a dude, and after taxes, he can't be breaking bread on no five hundred dollars meal.
And this is this is the funny thing. This is the funny thing. It's a tough situation because there will always be men willing. Women will always be able to get who and what they want, but it not might be from the guy they want, because there will always be a man willing to spend the money based on what it is that women want, because they will always be a guy willing to do.
It trying to impress them and try to impress them. The more money you have, the easier it is get to your end goal. That's just like, that's the way it is.
But I tell dudes all the time, dudes, stay within your salary cap and accuage. Stay within your salary cap and accuage. What's for you will be there. And as your as your money continues to grow and gets hired and higher, the caliber, the caliber of women you want to choose, it gets higher as well. But at the end of the day, it's all pink on the inside. It's all people. I hope you're talking about a stake, but yeah, I was talking about state, talking about how.
Right there with you?
So the thing is o cho choose the woman that likes you, not the woman you like. If you choose the woman that likes you, you'll be straight.
That's a good one. That's a good one. That's good.
If you got to leave with money, she don't like you, Yeah, I don't like you. If you got to leave with money, n if she say, if you got to apply pressure, she don't like you.
Don't fall don't fall over that any time.
Pressure if you If you tell me I don't need your money, I make my own money, I'm going another way.
That's what I've heard that lot too many times.
To be true.
Yeah, yeah like that.
But this isn't a good thing. This is a good thing for women. Though women will never go it out because they will always be a man willing always yeah, always, yeah, always.
But I could, like I said, I I don't mind. But at the end of the day, like I said, I didn't have and you know what, if I was making money like I was my fourth or fifth year, if she wanted to get the life to hell, baby, get to take one home. Yeah, but but I ain't have no bread like that at that point in time, my focus was, Okay, pay my bills, help my grandmother. You know, my mom working. But I still got to
break off. So when I when I get back and the cell phone see before, O joe, cell phone with the cell phone was probably about four dollars a minute, and if you left the city, it started roaming. Yea, O Joe, charge man may had I had a cell
phone bill twelve hundred dolls one time. Back then, back then, my brother, My brother called me and said, turn it off, turn it off, because back then, oh Joe, if you waited after I think it's after seven o'clock, the minutes were free, and then on weekend minutes were free.
But man, who would have hell, gon wait till after seven.
O'clock to talk to Somebody'll wait to damn satur Friday night, Saturday night, Sunday. God, I would have talked when I wanted to talk, but I had to get up off that thing. Let's get back into the football. Lamar Jackson had a tremendous day one twenty seven, three fifty seven, three passing touchdowns, one Russian touchdown. Lamar and his Raven fans had a lot that had a lot to say to me today talking about I don't.
Give him the praise.
Oh Jo, can you tell the people that's watching all twenty one thousand that the NFL is a week to week?
Is that I said?
Listen? I said.
I said all the time, Lamar has been okay. And remember I just said it not long ago. Lamar was due for a big day. Yes, I just said that Lamar is due for a big day. He had game for you know, twenty nineteen, two thirty, but he was due for a day like the day and oh my goodness, did he have a day? And it is week to week. It's just a funny thing about the NFL. And just not not to get off topic, but look today, damn Patriots upsetting the Bills.
Who would have thought of that?
Right? Or or I mean, I'm gonna stay, I'm gonna stay. I'm stay in context where we talking about Lamar. You get games like this and you want to see him repeat the performance from today next week and.
It might not be the same.
It's just to the business and I just can't explain why it goes like this.
It's up and down.
But when you can find a happy medium where you can be consistent offensively whether it's running the ball, whether it's RPO, whether it's play action consistently each weekend and week out. That is when you know you're in a conversation for MVP. But after today's performance, yeah, he has to.
Be in it.
He has to be in the But oh Joe, what I noticed about the Ravens Last week? When Lamar Jackson went one for six in the red zone, it was a team game.
They go five or six. Today it's Lamar.
I criticized his inability to get the ball into the end zone in the red zone. I said, what about the turnovers today? He was better in both? I said, you guys want me to praise Lamar or any other player that you guys like, even when they don't play well. That's not how it works. It doesn't work if you
don't play well. I cannot even good conscious trot my answer up there, sit in front of that telepone, sit in front of that camera, and said, oh man, he played well when he didn't, I said, but when I criticized Peyton Manning and Brady and Rogers and Big Bend and Drew Brees and Romo and Rivers and Ryan, I.
Say, ain't none of y'all rested their rescue.
I said, y'all, shit, y'all cry freedom ass down, because I know where y'all trying to go with this. Y'all trying to say, oh he from the community. No, no, no, no. And I appreciate what Lamar does in his community.
That says.
But at the end of the day, my job is to evaluate week the week play. If a guy plays well, o Joe, I'm gonna say he plays well, and I and if I said I didn't think you was gonna play well and he plays well, I said I was wrong. Oh boy bawled out, gives give me his flowers. But guys, I'm the wrong guy to listen to or to watch. If you think I'm gonna let bad play go unchecked, that's not gonna happen.
And you know what, there was no bad play today and no deserves its flowers. And what I really love about Lamar and his match ration at the quarterback position is the fact that I'm going back to her before he went drafted, Oh you should try out for running back. Oh you should try out and play receiver.
And that's what the Heisman trophy as a quarterback.
Exactly throwing the ball.
Yeah, what I saw from them all today and being a pure pocket passer, dropping back, scanning through progressions if it's not there, checking it down if it is there. Nine different Ravens receivers quarterball today against the Lions, not just an This ain't the same old Lions team.
This is yes, the five.
Dan Campbell led a Lions as playing hell of a good football on both sides.
And they made him look like, you know what, I can't see it? Say I can't, man.
Lamar has been lights out against NFC teams. He's sixteen and one against NFC team. So if you're an NFC team and the Raves on your schedule and Lamar Jackson's player, oh, y'all, probably there's a ninety percent chance y'all gonna catch the help.
I have a question. Yes, So it's safe to say the SC North is the toughest division in football. I can I say that? Is it okay for me to say that?
Or no? Yeah? Yeah it didn't.
It didn't start out that way because everybody was kind of like you know, the bingals was was was tread and water. But you look at what Cleveland did go on the road and get a win, you look at the Steelers and I was watching that game and so fi it looked like a Steelers home game. They go out, he come out here to so Far beat the Rams. The Ravens do a demolition job on on Detroit, one of the best teams, one of the better teams, their top five team in the league. I had them in
my power rankings. And then your Bingers were on a bye week. But yeah, I think it's very safe to say and just think had the Ravens taking care of business against the Steelers, how big of a lead because they had already beaten Cleveland, they had already beaten Cincinnati. Now you beat so Now you're three and on in division. Now somebody got so when you beat a team in your division, that's like two games. Yeah, yeah, So Lamar Ravens, congratulations,
you guys played really well today. Now if y'all can bottle that up and package that up the way the defense got after Jared Golf and the way Lamar played, and you ran the football with Edwards and Hill and Lamar Lamar, Look, Lamar's gonna sprinkle little runs here and there. But in order to take that next step, in order for the Ravens to get to where they want to
get to. Lamar's gonna have to have and I'm not saying, you know, twenty one or twenty seven three bits of that, but he's gonna have to become more efficient at throwing the football and taking care of the football because at the end of the day, the further you.
Go along, Oh Joe, you start paying double for turnovers.
Oh yeah, oh yeah, yeah.
I mean, but if there's a measuring stick for Lamar and a measuring stick or a gauge on where you want to be in the realm of when it comes to passing, today was a perfect that's a perfect metric to measure twenty seven to for what three fifty seven? Yes, you're not going to throw the three seven every week, but only six incompletions and that's almost unheard of.
Oh joe, you know what happens once you win the MVP. That's the standard in which you're critiqued by. You are no longer a regular quarterback. Don't be talking about oh Dak, don't be talking about Kyler Murray, don't be talking about Justin Herbert.
Don't be no, no, no, no, You're an MVP.
How many other quarterbacks are currently playing that an MVP. I can only think of one, my homeboy. Yeah, all the rest. Rogers is on our R but he's the only one. Tom Brady's retired. So basically it's Rogers. It's my home boy and Lamar Jackson that can say that they've been MVP's.
So that's the standard in which Lamar has to be judged by.
You can't say I'm a college I got five these advanced degrees, and you want me to judge you like you a high school a senior in high school.
It doesn't work like that.
O choke right right.
Bill Belichick joined coach Don Shuler coach George Hallis in the three hundred win club. Coach Belichick became just the third coach at NFL NFL history to earn three hundred regular season wins, joining Papa Bear coach George Hallis and the all time win leader coach Don Shuler. Before the season started, Coach Belichick signed a secret contract extension.
What are your thoughts, O, Yoe?
I mean, listen, I mean he's worthy of a contract extension. But normally, when when when we think about contracts, especially when it comes to players, is it based on what you've done in the past, or is it based on what you're going to do in the future.
That's what they tell us the future, They tell us the future.
Well, obviously, you know, I think with Bill Belichick it is kind of he gets a little a little bit of a what's the word looking for grace?
Yeah, it gets a little bit of grace. Obviously what he've been able.
To do for that organization, for that city, for the Patriots in general.
Where was Tom Brady's grace?
Tom Brady got twenty years worth of grace?
No, how many years did coach Belichick get He.
Got twenty years worth of grace as well. But obviously the.
Years that Belichick has put into this game, what you put into it is what you get out of it.
So I think he's well deserving of a contract extension.
Tom Brady what Tom Brady? What deserving? Tom Brady was deserving? No contract extension?
Yeah, he got a bunch of them, didn't your tenure?
No? No, no, no, no. He took less think about that.
So hollo, guys, anybody that's listening too, and I you see Tom Brady took less money.
And at the end of the day, what do they do still showed him the door.
I wait, wait, wait, let's understand.
Let's Tom took less money because he understood in order for them to reach the common goal that they all had at the beginning was to be able to put the pieces around him defensively and off to get those.
Six rings that coach Belichick money, that's white. That's why he took less money.
See, but you notice it's all it's always the billionaires. So let me ask you a question. How many discounts you think the NFL gave ESPN, Fox, CBS, and NBC and Amazon to broadcast these games? Did they give them a discount? Say you know what. CBS, you've been our loyal partners for over sixty years. Fox, you came on in nineteen ninety four. NBC, you've been our loyal loyal partner. YouTube, thank you for coming to board playing two million the year.
So when what every if you notice they never pass So is.
The tickets discounting? Is the cod is the beer cheaper?
No, it's different, though, it's different what we talk about. I mean, you you you you talk about that those are two different, totally dynamics all together. We talk about a team game and we talk about entities. The with the bottom line is strictly about the dollars.
I'm team Shannon, you team Oho. You know I got my team. I got mild the fees, I got a little bird of the right, and I need to drop something in there. Me to give you a pay cut. I ain't gonna be able to I ain't gonna be able to give them. You know, what they're.
Saying is saying.
Tom Brady's always been in a position with what he has going on outside of the game, he's whatever he doesn't Let's say he does take a pay cut, guess who is on his hip that makes up for whatever he's not making. Because, I mean, Tom is one of the few people in the world that was dealing with a woman that makes ten times more than him. So, okay, I'm taking a pay cut, but that's okay because I have this individual at home who makes ten times more
than I do, which is a very fortunate situation. How many, let me ask you a questions, happened to be in a situation like that right now as well?
In NFL history, in the one hundred year NFL history, how many men have dated a woman that made more than them?
In the history of the NFL. I'm going back one hundred so.
Since nineteen nineteen, since nineteen they started playing football in the nineteen nineteen the Acme Packers and the Cannon bull Dogs.
This is different though. This ain't just making more or this is making ten times more than that.
Okay again, let me rephrase, in the history of the one hundred and five year history.
So you want everybody to take a pay cut like Tom.
No, I didn't say that.
I said he was able to and was comfortable taking one because of the situation, the fortune situation that he was in.
Yes, oh soo.
We got twenty four thousand people watching us live right now.
Please make sure you hit that make sure you hit that subscribe button.
People come from.
They coming, they come for the football, and they stay for the stories. That's when they come for. They come for the football, and they come and they stayed for the story.
The stories, the story where it's at.
Yeah.
Yeah, we're giving people, were giving people life lessons. We let him know, like, okay some of the things like like we we share with you. Is that so some of you guys out there won't make the same mistakes that we made.
Because I've made.
I've made And that's kind of at a lot of times when I'm talking to these guys, I said, I'm not telling you something somebody told me. I'm talking from experience. A wise man learns from others mistakes. A fool will learn from its own. Yeah, that you can learn. You can say, Okay, that's a lesson learned. But what if I can What if I can shave you from having learned that lesson? And you just go ahead, go smooth through and easy?
Part is it for those that are watching When it comes to learning lessons, learning lessons and hearing it from others that have already been through and experience it, it's all about applying it. It's about remembering it and trying to take it into context and whatever situation you might be going through.
Discipline. That's all it comes down to.
This weekend, man, look at it's my daughter's birthday.
Yeah, what y'all?
What y'all did?
Man?
We were in Vegas. We went to an Usher concert on Friday night.
Hey, I went Thursday night. I went with.
Real Yeah.
They lit he lit the forty five minutes before the concert is actually.
A concert, right right? Right?
Oh?
Man?
The DJ had that thing so mad. So we went to Usher on Friday, and then Saturday night we went to a dal.
Adale got a residency too.
Yeah, she at the she had Caesars at the coliseum.
Baby, Oh Joe, I ain't take me to see Adal? Oh Joe, man, how was Adal?
Look here?
She came out there with that black dress. Yeah, she introduced the piano player.
Yeah, hello, hey, it's me.
What the what I love about her? She's an apologetically her. She ain't got no heels on. She come out there with that black dress. She come out there with no shoes, stockets and give you a two hours of work.
Hey, listen, Adel is saying, man, ade Adele, Adele can sing.
I'm I'm a fan of hers. You know, you know you know what, bababy, guess when I go back to Vegas.
Oh, I'll definitely see her again. I'll definitely see her.
I got to go back to Vegas Wednesday.
I gotta be there for four days, right, I got I got to do some work out there.
I'm going to see baby. Can you can you get tickets to see Adele? Can you hear me? Okay, okay, appreciate that.
Oh Joe, here this is my second time seeing her. I saw her first concert. She hadn't she hadn't performed in a while twice. Yeah, she was at the she when she first came back. This was like during the pandemic, like right after, like twenty one, and she was at the observatory she did, and so a lot of the big a lot of the big people there.
I ain't gonna name her who was there.
And I heard her and just to hear, I can just imagine because I'm old enough to remember prime Whitney. I'm old enough to remember prime Mariah. I'm old enough, you know.
And man, that woman boys is man God left.
Look you just you just said Whitney. You ever seen Whitney live.
I've never seen Whitney live. I've never seen Whitney live.
I've never heard a voice. I've never heard a voice. Let me tell you.
Since we were on the topic of singing, let me tell you. Let me tell you my top five when it comes to singing. Tell me if I know what I'm talking about now, I got Whitney number one. Okay about pure range? And take you here and take you there? Yeah, yeah, take you Wes. Yes, we go north, we can go south. That's Whitney got. Mariah, Okay, stay with me at home now, Christina Aguilera, I'm talking about Range now.
Stay now.
Kicky Wyatt, Okay, I'm taking you to church. Stay with me.
I'm taking the church. Jennifer Hudson Okay. Fantasia Yeah, okay.
I'll tell you what you're going to. You're gonna rearrange your list once you hear I hear there, and I'm gonna tell you.
I'm gonna tell you she's.
In there somewhere.
I've never seen her live, So everybody at this name I've seen live and know what they can do because they coming to the party.
I never seen that.
I've never seen her live. But Tina Marie, she's five.
What you know about Tina Marie? Man, stop playing, I won't see you.
Gotta realize when Tina was out Apex, I was, oh, man, but you gotta hear a dall me telling you. Sometimes me telling a story doesn't do justice. You got to hear this woman sing. And man, when she walked and look here, when she walked to the edge of that stage and she set her ass on those steps and she picked that mic up.
She hit a note last night she said, uh, she stopped it.
She's like I was he She's like, I'm damn, I'm out of breath, and she tall and she called for it.
Back right.
Crazy, hu SEUs listen, I'm gonna take you to church real quick because you know I'm are you in the gospel?
Like about in the gospel?
Yeah?
You ever heard Leandrea Johnson, Johnson, Lashawan Pace sing m.
Oh Man See, I grew seeing when the church when when you say church, I grew up with Shirley Cason.
I'm Sureley see the dotty people.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, Wood don't listen, Well, we can go to church here.
Don't do me like that.
But singers that I've heard and I haven't seen them Whitney, Mariah, Aretha, Adele, Tina.
Marie.
Many and they is different. They different.
No, Stephanie meals Stephanie.
Definitely go that's a good one. That's a good one. That's a good one. And you know what, I I can't but you know what, I don't want to Patty out.
Yeah, you know who I can't leave out. And she gets labeled more of an entertainer than a singer. Beyonce got cords, Yeah, yeah.
Yeah, Beyonce is what I call one.
Of the fewicorn the whole package, and it's a unicorn. Yes, that is the closest to me any other entertainers that we're going to get to Michael Jackson, Am I wrong?
Am I wrong? That?
Hey? Did you see that? Did you see that? Who you saw? Thursday night?
Got got Usher Usher, Chris Brown, Beyonce. Wait a minute, I got one more for you have seen Bruno Mars.
Yes man Brutal Bruno. Bruno liked that.
Talking about stage presence, Yeah, I think it's half a battle forgetting knowing how to sing, forgetting knowing how to sing stage present, being able to engage with the fans and and do and become one with them. That's a gift. Yeah, that's a gift, and that's something Mars has. I need that.
So I was, Uh, I was very fortunate. John Jay Austin, who's who's Usher's right hand man, took care of my daughter. You know, he took care of me and my daughter. So they had friends and family lounge. So afterwards, you know, Uh, Jessica alba Reza nods everybody. A lot of the dancers, uh, the performers that's on stage, Usher had started to come in, so I got an opportunity to talk to them.
But man, yeah, I might have to go see Usher again.
Yea, hey, listen because it's been a while. Was phenomenal. The music, some of the some of the stuff I hadn't heard in so many years.
Yeah.
Oh, the band, the pianist, the dancers, Oh yeah, the stripper. Everything is like my eyes are all over the face. Then the skating, the skating segment, do.
It hey, you the one with the long leg with the short red crop hair. Yeah, I met I met her, me and Kaylea met her.
What about the one?
Now?
You know, I don't want to get in trouble, don't worry about it.
I know what you talking about.
Let that go. I'm letting go. But listen, Usher phenomenal.
If if people, for those that are watching, if you haven't had a chance to see Usher, you gotta go see that.
Listen.
I'm looking forward for it to going to see it. Wait whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa whoa. How much the Medele tickets costs?
I don't even know. Oh, I don't even know for me, Like like I said, but see, here's the thing I mean in the chat.
Somebody in the chat, please tell me how much the deal tickets.
It don't depend on where you want to say it.
I wanted I gotta put my baby in the front. Okay there, you're gonna look, you're gonna play something. You're gonna play a pay what bands? You're gonna have to play some fam you the marching bands?
Nah?
Nah, Now we we ain't gonna do that. If anybody in here have I got, you know, I'm gonna called Rich.
Paul, don't worry about it. I'm gonna call rich.
You know what, Joe. I used to do that. But you know that man, that man look at it. That woman is in business.
It's like that would be like that would be like you you got a clothing line and everybody hit you up, say can I get this for free?
My homeboy?
It ain't man, it's not really.
Everybody, it's not it's not really you know okay baby, hello, oh yo. Ain't that much tied in the world, man, Oh Joe, even.
When even with lebron Right, I don't I pay for If I get shoes, I pay for him.
If I get a jersey, I pay for it.
Now he did give me a jersey, and he autographed it for me. But most of the stuff that all the stuff that I get, I paid for it.
So you just I mean I pay for stuff too. I paid taxes.
The way I look at the way I look at it. If I'm if I'm gonna take my ass and buy l V and d OR and all that other.
Stuff, I don't do that. See that's okay, I'm gonna do it.
I'm always looking for the for the deal. I'm always looking for hope, the loophole.
I'm trying. I'm trying to save, you know.
So if I can find a loophole, way I can actually get in there to to have my baby sea Adel.
Actually, I want to see it there anyway, because I love I love music. I love you.
Actually, she signed, she signed, she signed a car for my for my daughter, wish my daughter happy birthday. Yep, gave her some swag. She signed the book for me.
Uh, you can tell me, man, you can tell just to tell me how my tigers are. Man, Come on, man, I don't.
I don't know because my assistant handled it.
Okay, Well you know you ain't let her charge your car without without tell yes, I do. Yeah, yeah, see that's you got. You got that, You got that fucking money.
So anytime you just go ahead and char ain't got it, ain't got to running by you, that's.
Has But here's the thing, But, oh Joe, the thing is with me is that my team they know I don't really spend money like that. So when they say I don't spend I don't. I don't spend money on anything. I spend money and taking care of everybody else. I don't really do anything for me. Oh, I do stuff everybody else.
So I'm like, I saw you flying private eating Popeyes?
Was that?
Yeah? No, Only I ain't had no poppa. I can't remember last time I had Popeyes. I can't even tell you what Popeyes is around here. Ain't no where I stay, ain't no Popeyes around here.
Whatever he was eating, I saw you on a private head cut.
Down what I do for what it cost, for what it calls the start by mask rolls, for what it cost. But no, I think the thing is for me at this at this juncture of my life, that I'm gonna spit like a dall or Usher or somebody that I want to see like.
And that's my thing. I've always liked together.
I mean, when I was in Atlanta, there's this place called Chastain and it's where you you can you know, you can eat and it's like you know the they're they're they're performing and you can eat, you know, drag. You can get a table and I would, you know, me and my friends we would go and man, you know, you see earth winding fire, you see a seal, or you'll see uh uh you know INDI I reel. You see Jill Scott and you see some of the and you're like, okay that this this is what I like.
This is what I This is what I like to do.
You know what, when I think about it too, I'm in I'm into musicals, I'm into Broadway, I'm into dance, I'm in the theater.
I'm into the arts. A lot of people wouldn't know that about me.
And one of my favorite things to do where I will spend money, regardless of price and regardless of where they're playing, is please tell me, Please tell me you know about Alvin Ellie.
Alvin Elly danced.
There a dance studio. Yeah yeah, black yeah, Renown, Yeah.
Judah Jamison and my guy Robert Battle. I'm sure this will probably get back to them. I can't wait until you guys get back on tour, so I can. You got to see revelations. You got to see revelations.
And a dream of mine. A dream of mine is to dance.
Revelations and to have one of the solos and maybe in wading the water or or rock of my soul.
I just I want to dance.
I love it.
You know. I did ballet. I did ballet when I was.
During during football, in the off season, during football season two, to help me with balance and something about.
Ballet. I'll go see.
I mean, your feet already in pl you straight?
Yeah, let me see dance. You know what else I paid for it? That that me and the missus we never missed until the pandemic hit Andrea Andrea.
Oh okay, every every time, every time, Mother's Day, weekend, man, listen, never miss it, never missing.
And people always see me at places like that. I'd be like, man, what the hell you doing here? I mean, this is what I really like. People just don't know that side of me.
Yeah, I'm I'm I'm I'm a I'm a concert guy. I like I like concerts.
I've never been the concert guy. Kanye. I mean Kanye.
I've been to Kanye West one of his concerts, because I like, you don't know what to expect as far as from our arts perspective.
And and and that's the thing with Odell's visuals.
Kanye visuals.
What's the one with the spaceship he had the concert with the spaceship, it looked like, yeah, that was crazy, but now the lights just just dude, that's that's one of the best. And outside of that, that Usher concert, that was my first time being at another one.
Yeah, and if they was the first concert my daughter ever went to was Usher.
So here we are almost two decades later, she goes to Usher again, and so that was that was like okay, and to go that was my first time taking it to a concert, her and I And you know what I noticed.
I mean, you know, I get.
Frustrated sometimes, but the community they love us all they love us, O Joe, the way, the way, the applause that I got and people going to take pictures and the people want to shake my hand.
Man.
The love that I got at the Usher concert, the love that I get in the airports, the love that I get.
When I'm around my people, right right, it's never.
If I have won fifty super Bowls, I wouldn't get the kind of love that I get right now.
I mean, it is unbelievable.
So you know what, And I remember if my daughter, my daughter like daddy it is, She's like, your life is never gonna be the same, is it.
I was like, nah, baby, life has changed. She's like, she's like daddy. These people really love you.
I say, they do, baby, I say they do, I said, and I said, from that point on, I said, you know what, that little criticism when guys take their pot shots and they say all this stuff. I say, y'all two or three can't take away from the masters that showed me love when they see me in person, and the love and the respect and the admiration that they show me.
So what y'all talking about? That bull job? Y'all long? I'm done with it. I ain't. I ain't argue with none of you.
I feel, but I want to protect you.
You know you're getting older, you know you got you know your knees, you know your hips bad. I don't want one of these young boys to see you in person. They jump on you, and I'm not there.
To save you.
So I tell you what. I tell you what.
A young boy jump on you?
Now, I don't about let me tell you like this here, I can't stop somebody from jumping on me. Yes, but if I can't get him up off me, leave him there. I bet I get him up off me. I bet I make him turn Hey. I had a oh Joe, I had a dude, tell you, oh Joe, dude talking about mad I'm looking at you.
Man, you ain't that big hor to grab you? I said, I bet I'll make you turn me loose. I bet you that you the grabbing the easy part. There's the holding that's a hard hey.
Hey, oh, then don't let don't let the young fellas get a hold of you. That I'm trying. I'm trying. I'm just I'm just making show. I'm just I just I just want to make sure you're good.
Now you got man, Look here the love and the respect that I thought about usher concert man, Look here, man, Like I said, I don't really I don't really get out like that.
I don't really let out. I don't love out like that.
There love you always been there, It's always been there.
I think over the over, the over, the last over the last year seeing me in this space and hearing me talk about certain issues and to hear the and in our community. Uncles is a term of endearments someone that has knowledge of someone that's constantly trying to to elevate his people, his family.
His friends. And so for me that I take that term very serious.
Because people think that I live, I'm mature enough to pass along knowledge and information that would be useful to not only someone my age, but the younger generation.
So I appreciate that because when I grew up, the community police.
If they saw you deal doing something wrong, it's like, hey, now, I ain't gonna tell you. I ain't gonna tell miss Mary, but you know you're not supposed to do that, right, I'm not gonna tell mister Barney.
It was like and if you it was like yes, ma'am. No, ma'am.
It was always anybody if you was doing wrong, and it was it was like it was a sign of respect.
Yes, ma'am. Hey, hey boy, uh you you you are you Barney and married grandson? Yes, ma'am. Uh huh okay.
You know now you know they wouldn't like that you. Yes, ma'am, I ain't gonna say nothing, But now don't tell my kid there. So don't talk to my kid like that. That's that's your problem.
Yeah, nobody.
But my grandma used to always say, boy, hey, if you don't want to listen, they got places that will make you listen.
They'll tell you what time to get up, when to get up, what to eat, where to eat, and when to.
Do what everything else. Now, you can listen to me on the outside, or you can listen to them on the inside. But you don't miss them my grandma, y'all listen. But people, I know you guys that are watching this, Man, I really appreciate the love that you guys showed me all the respect. Oh, let me tell you what happened. Oh Choe, I got to tell this story. Then we gotta go cause I gotta get to bed. I gotta go to work in the morning.
Man, oh Joe.
So we're in that little friends and family room, and so you know, I kind of got I'm like to the side. My daughter's standing in front of me, like right there, and I'm time to like to the side. I'm kind of like talking to I'm talking to nods and so you know, he's talking like, hey, man, I appreciate what you do. Man, you're real y'all to YadA and this guy. See this guy come up to talk to my daughter. You know, it used to be a thing.
Whoa whoa, whoa, whoa whoa what?
My daughter she's grown, she's grown, she can handlet her self. And she said it is not what she said is how she said it. Yeah, she said, that's my daddy. It was like she said it away, leave me alone. I told you I wasn't interested.
Yeah, so now you know me, I will, I will, I wheel around? Yeah what I said? What's up? A man?
Oh?
Yeah, how you do? You know? YadA, YadA, YadA. But he could tell from my look.
Right, this ain't that nah?
Yeah, look like if probably I don't look. I said, my kids, my girls are veried. They're not gonna they're not gonna talk to no guy in front of in front of me.
Okay, okay.
She always said that that's society. I was like, hey, you're grown. She said, nah.
She viewed that as this respectful for a guy to try to talk to her in front of her.
Dad, right right, right right right?
So I didn't, you know, hey, I didn't, because you best believe I'm gonna try to talk to say you looking right. You better believe I would try to do your dad, your bob, you know I would be respectful.
With it, right, but but you know, but uh.
Gonna put hands on the arm?
No no no, because uh no, hell no. Like I said, you know, it was just like she wanted. She didn't because of where we were. She didn't know who he was, and so she wanted to be respectful. Also knowing because everybody that meet her said, you look just the first thing they say. They don't say, well, how you doing, They say, you look just like your daddy. So and so she wanted to be respectful with it, knowing that, Okay, that's Shanna Shaw's daughter.
So bud no, no, no, no, no, no no. The kids, I don't, I don't, I don't. I don't play like that. I play with I play about a lot of things, but not them kids.
I don't blame you. I don't blame you.
That that topic, man, that that that that topic again, that topic we talked about earlier, that young lady that didn't want to go to that chain restaurant.
I don't know why. That's that's still sitting heavy on my heart.
Yeah, but what did she think She thought she thought video and O Joe she was gonna get people on the side to my Yeah, sister, make that man take you.
To this higher restaurant. That's all that if if, if, that's all I got.
So in other words, you're telling me if I'm not, if I'm not worthy of you like this because one day, one day I told everybody when I was growing up, I said, one day, I said, I'm gonna come back in a white Mercedes, and I'm gonna say, see, y'all didn't want O Shady. Yeah, y'all didn't want The guy that had the partners here y'all didn't, won't. The guy that didn't hang out, y'all didn't won't. The guy that didn't smoke weed, that all he cared about was playing sports. Y'all didn't want him.
Then. Oh, but they're gonna come a time you're gonna wish you had.
I want her. Listen, they're there. There.
There are men out here that have set a precedent, uh when it comes to courting, when it comes to taking women on nice, fancy dates. And once they set the precedent, then everyone else follows as far as women and wanting that same that same.
Oh cho every everybody can't move like that.
And you know, you know, you know what happens all the that are in position to do the fancy dates and the five star stuff and putting you in the nice stuff, and they all dating the same women because all so many it's only so many of those type of guys that they getting the pick of the litter, because everybody chasing the same goddamn thing.
Because most of the time, if you look at most of the athletes, they like the same type of woman and it's the same type of woman that's attracted to an athlete.
So it is what it is.
Everybody, everybody dating everybody, everybody's.
But I don't expect. I don't expect because one woman did, I automatically expect everybody.
To do that.
No, you, you, you, you, you, you in you and your individual self, be your best you. I'm not asking you to replace what I had. I'm asking you to be you. So because I hope you don't ask me to be what you what you once had. Oh my my guy used to do this, Michael, so why not why you're not still with it? If he did so much?
He took you all these exotic places. Y'all was in ballet, y'all was in and Miconnose, and y'all was in all of the y'all was in turks and kkos, and you was on jet skis and you were boat riding.
So why are you with me right now on this date?
Okay, okay, listen boy, it's then out there right now too. But it's then out there, bro it ain't it ain't ain't with you.
Sometimes some some some women they know they leaving good men thinking.
It is did that to us? Oo? Social media did that? Does it? Did a It did it to us because.
We look at that like, I bet I got man, man, you know what I got? And you go out there trying to get a Bugatti and little do you know that Bugatti you gotta put like five thousand dollars of gas every time you filling up the times cost twenty two thousand the maintenance order every time you pop the hood of another ten grand.
You know what it's rough? I think when you see what you gotta compete with is rough. I can't.
I can't compete with them, but the thing for the same thing, Oh Joe, But here's the thing about l A. You might be competing with a rapper, an NBA player, an MLB player, a producer. You don't know what you're up at least when I was. When I was, when I was growing up, I do, I was competing against believe you know what I mean, A regular guy wasn't gonna be able to beat my time. Come, I had laid down a blistering time. You know what the old people used to say. Oh bet girl used to say
all the time. Yeah, somebody came in and beat his time. I say, granted, can't nobody to beat your baby time because your baby.
Laid down a blif three times.
Now you out here, you don't know what you up again, because everybody look here, they drive they drive range rollers out here like Fords. So dur ain't you talk about old bab I got the baddest will bro. I guarantee you you're gonna see four of them before you park your car, whatever car you got, you about to see ten of them.
So you don't know what you up again. And it's that guy that you think, man, who is that he.
Got major paper or he pretending and she don't know he pretended, but it looked good.
All you gotta do is look the part. That's half the battle.
Oh yeah, yeah, look like you got it.
That's it. That's it, that's half the battle. Man.
But listen, I love them, I love I love my people. I just I just we we gotta we gotta, we gotta stay within our financial lane. That's all you gotta Do's like, that's all I can do in your financial lane. Understand where you at and accuage waves.
W A G E. You'll be found.
Hey, I'll still I still, I still spend like I'm on that three thirty five hour when I was growing up with minimum wave with three thirty with three thirty five or three thirty seven an hour?
Wait, what's what's minimum waves? Now? Did it go on?
I ate seven twenty five?
Yeah, and we got we got to man, listen, that's why I need to be in office. They need somebody like me in office. They need somebody like me in offic because minimum waves wouldn't be like it, they wouldn't be like this.
No.
Oh, oh Joe, I got another Oh Joe, check this out. This lady.
This lady got an uber and the lady wouldn't give her her stuff because she wouldn't give her a till.
You see what you started.
No, whoa, whoa, whoa. The lady went and got four hundred dollars worth of groceries.
If somebody bring me four hundred worth of any goddamn thing they're getting the goddamn tip you tell.
You now you know that? O o jo ocho hoo o joe you uber, yeah, okay, you ober.
Right right right, okay. Now I'm not obligated. See, because here's the thing you can't remember. Now, you gotta look through it through your look through it through the person lens, not your lens. Now, me, when I leave the hotel, the people that's coming to clean my room, I leave money on the table. I said, Hey, whoever cleaned the room, That money on the dresser, That money on the table, that's yours, I said, even that money is yours. Okay, I need you to do this for me. I need
you to leave me some extra towers. I leave money for them. I leave in the morning, I leave money for him.
That's me.
That's the kindness of my heart. If when you hey, excuse me, ma'am, can you give me some ice? Sure, they go get the ice I give them. You know, give them thirty forty bucks. It's like, thank you, thank you. Now I know my room when I get back, my room.
Will be spotless.
I'm gonna have extra tower, bed gonna be nice and neat. I'm gonna have them two chocolates even though I don't eat them. They gonna be at the side of the bed.
They gonna be. They're gonna need me some water. Okay.
I don't like feeling obligated, right, do it anything? Oh yo, I'm gonna do it out of the kindness of my heart. I don't like feeling obligated.
That's not feeling obligated. If you know you have someone bringing you four hundredars worth of groceries. Come on now, it's about being DEC's.
Dem so how much so? How much is Uber? How much is Uber?
They pay for an uber?
Right? Right? Yeah?
Okay, yeah, but still come on now, I gotta till for you don't need the ex salary to ride the bus.
That's the till. If I got for you, you got you got.
You got to do right by people. Man, Oh Joe, you just saying like that, you just give something, not giving nothing at all. Come on, now, you don't know what that lady had to go through.
You don't know what I had to go through to get these groceries. I about have had.
I about have had that colored money. You know that color money. You know that colored money is right? Yeah, okay there, But so.
You got somebody bring you four hundreds worth of grocery and you ain't tipping none. I'm talking about you.
Oh no, let me tell you what I did.
There was an ice storm back in ninety six and I couldn't I couldn't get out the driveway. So I called a guy and I said, you know, wait for me. He's like, nah, I said, I tell you what.
I said.
You got to take my word for it. See, I see if you will take my word for I said, wait here and I get back. Let me go in this store and I get and when I come back, it'll be worth your wait. He was waiting right there. It was right down the street. Probably took we was probably gone ten minutes. I gave five hundred dollars.
Mmmm, That's what I'm talking about.
I had a situation I was in when I was working at CBS. Yeah.
I left my backpack with all my watches, all my money, all my cuplinks in the cab. So my assistant, my sister's calling blah blah blah. And the last person I had called was my homeboy Bucket. So the guy with my bag and saw the fall, he called Bucket man, who is why you called me from my homeboy phone. He was trying to explain to him and his broken English that I had left the phone in there, but he ended up.
Man. I gave that man like thirty five dollars. I gave all the cash that I had so that I had.
There are good people that there are good for sure, and that is why.
You know.
That's why when a lot of people asked me over the past ten to fifteen years, everywhere I go, you already know how I tip like I've been doing that for years everywhere I go, obviously, because you know how the service industry is, and it's just any industry for that matter that doesn't make a livapool wage.
I take pride in that. And I just got a call. A quick little story.
It is not much, but there's a restaurant that I frequent I only go to five places over and over in Miami, five same restaurants.
Brimstone. You know about Brimstone right, you heard of Brimstone.
I have a no so Brimstone, nice little restaurant in pember Gardens, right in Pines that I always frequent. I like, you know, I like to go to dinner there, and I love going there because they allowed me to smoke my cigar. They allowed me to smoke my cigar and I get my little cathic on letty and I get my same meal every single time. And they took away smoking cigars. They took away smoking cigars for about maybe but maybe three four months, and I hadn't been back since.
I hadn't I hadn't been back since.
And then one of the waitresses, one of the waiters there, text me through DM and said, man, listen, you won't believe. Start next week you can finally come back and you can smoke your cigar. And do I damn that crowd, I damn that cry. It's not the fact that I could smoke my cigar. It's the fact that I haven't been able to go to that place for four to
three goddamn months. And I know, goddamn well, nobody that's been coming to that restaurant is leaving those blessings th where I was and that that felt bad for me because I just couldn't go there without having my cigars. So the fact that now I can go back to Brimstone and enjoy a cigar, I can get back to tipping those people the way they should be tipped.
Well, I like, I probably go to the same thing, and when I get the waiter, it's like, and I say the usual okay, mister Sharpe.
Yeah, now I don't even got to say nothing.
That's what That's what I loved and enjoyed about going there when they took that smoking away man on the patio.
And that that that that hurt me. That hurt me bad. That hurt me bad.
Guys, again, thank you for watching. We got over twenty four thousand. Thanks for tuning in watching night.
It's twenty four thousand.
A hell yeah, we have twenty four thousand in here. Make sure you click that subscribe button. Tell your family and friends make sure you click it. Also, Uncle Oho. We'll be back tomorrow night after Monday Night football, and we might do a little something for Tuesday night open in the NBA season.
Not sure yet. We're trying to work out the king to make sure that we make sure we do something.
With that, but basketball.
Put your hand down. But anyway, I'm uh, he's old Joe. This is Nightcap. Thanks for tuning in. We really appreciate you.
Guys.
I got to go to work in the morning, but you got twenty four thousand people. Why would you leave them.
Hanging because I gotta go to work and they got to go to work too.
Listen, if you got twenty four thousand people watching us right now and they are willing to stay up and they got to.
Go to work, why would you leave them? I want where you could go. I'm gonna stay home.
Okay, you do that.
Well, ladies and gentlemen, I'm signing off. This has been not Cap. I'm your favorite Shining Sharp, He's your favorite number eighty five.
Y'all stay with me, y'all, stay with me. We finla talk talk about I'm getting bout another thirty minutes.
He's Chad Ocho Sinko Johnson. Thank you for watching, kid, and y'all.
The people still there? Are they gone? Hello? Hey? What y'all want to talk about? It's just it's just me solo show. What y'all want to talk about? Huh? I can't I can't read the chat because I'm not sleepy. I ain't gotta go. I ain't got no job. Stop first topic, first topic, we see we.
Talking about it.
Let me know, I ain't got nowhere to be. I ain't got nowhere to go because he was supposed to get me on first take, and so I ain't got no job.
Baby baby, baby baby corem here.
Yeah.
Would I rank? Would I rank myself for the best receiver of all time?
I mean, honestly, I mean, if I'm being serious, like all jokes aside, I probably I'm probably like probably like number number number thirteen, number all time, all time, Yeah, all time? Yeah, probably thirteen. I gotta be somewhere in the conversation somewhere around thirteen, anything below fifteen. Somebody lying somebody my top five?
Oh all time? Can we do me a favorite kick for my top five all time? Do me a favor.
I'm taking Jerry Rice. I'm taking Jerry Rice and Cheetah, and I'm putting them in a category of their own. I'm I'm and I'm going for my top five.
So one A and one B. Randy Moss, t O t R Randy Moss. How you want to do it?
It doesn't matter how you want to do it, it doesn't matter either way. It's interchangeable. Right then after that they have Calvin Johnson, Marvin Harrison, Jimmy.
Smith, God Lee. It's like it can go so many ways.
And I don't want to leave out any name because I don't have everybody's name in front of me. I'm just I'm just going off the top of the head and and what's here and what I have right now. But there's so there's so many great ones where there are so many great ones that are deserving of being in the top five.
It's just the fact that it's it's so hard, and it's also based on pre deference.
And I'm not one that bases everything off of numbers, because sometimes numbers don't tell the whole story based on circumstance and the situation that.
Players were players were in. But all right, so many good ones. But okay, next, Oh we gotta rap. Okay, I'm out of here. Now, I'm done.
I'm done.
I'm okay. We gotta wrap
