Arizona Wildcats going to the Final Four

Speaker 1

For the first time since two thousand and one, but Arizona Wildcats are headed back to the Final four. The top seeded Wildcats punched their ticket with a seventy nine to sixty four win over the number two per Due boiler Makers, setting the school record for wins in the season thirty six in the process. The Wildcats will take their thirteen game winning street to Indianapolis, where they'll play the winner Sunday's game Michigan and Tennessee against the veteran

Purdue team. Arizona was led by its talented freshman Brandon Berry's fourteen I can't even say his last name, cart Nokoff eighteen and Core Pete had twenty combined for fifty two to up Phase Uphad on the biggest stage in their young careers. I was a little word in the first half, though, Joe, But boy, the Jokers came out in the second half.

Speaker 2

Who I don't know what kind of adjustments they made at halftime, Uncle Joe.

Speaker 3

Nah, they aa.

Speaker 4

They coach told them, look y'all gonna mess around, and we're gonna be looking back on this game talking about man, she'll be still playing.

Speaker 3

That's what he told me.

Speaker 4

Y'all need to come out with a little sense of urgency in the second half, because in that second half, Uncle Ocho, the two freshmen, matter of fact, the three freshmen, the guy number eight, I can't tell his name neither, but cole pe and Burrow and Burris, they turned it up in the second half. I thought cole Pete really got into it. He got into a rhythm. The big boy, he got into a rhythm and he was going at them bigs that Purdue got. That's why Purdue was able

to hang into the game. And that's why when you're seeing Arizona play against Arkansas, we kind of thin and frail down Now, we got guys who could play on the perimeter, but we ain't really got enough girth to deal with them big guys Purdue had. That Purdue had some bigs that was going at them. They was offensive, rebounding, they was making it tough for Arizona. I just thought in the second half Arizona everything kind of slowed down

for them freshmen because all three of those guys. Freshman number eight is a freshman cold, the freshman Birry is a freshman.

Speaker 5

Watching whole huh car the cough hove.

Speaker 3

Cut your in the cough.

Speaker 4

Car chenkaw he nice, bro he nice great and transition can shoot the three.

Speaker 3

Uh.

Speaker 4

He played fearless, get to the bucket. He didn't make no three to night. But for the for the most part, he's been a great energy source for those guys. Man, they they play well together. They got some great some good bigs mixed in with these freshmen who kind of doing some heavy lifting ojo, but they deep they played the year was a point guard.

Speaker 3

Bro Yeah, I don't even know if he was a leading scorer on the team.

Speaker 4

Maybe he was, but I didn't think he was the best player in the Big twelve. That's just me personally, but collectly as a team, I don't really see nobody beating their zon them.

Speaker 3

I ain't gonna lie.

Speaker 1

It's gonna be interesting to see what what Michigan does with Tennessee tomorrow.

Speaker 3

We'll see what Yukon and Duke does.

Speaker 5

That's gonna be a good one.

Speaker 3

By Yeah, but Arizona looked good.

Speaker 4

They look good. Four guys had four guys in double figures. They did because a a Purdue. Purdue is a disciplined team an ojo. You know, they ain't gonna typically beat themselves. They had a few turnovers here and there, but for the most part, they play the right way. They played through their bigs, They point guards, play makes score.

Speaker 3

I think.

Speaker 4

I mean, it was a tough game. Like you said, in that first half, I thought dude was gonna run away with that thing.

Speaker 3

Yeah, I did too. It was on locked in that second half. Fellas.

Speaker 1

So they came out that second half, It's like, ooh damn. They started. They started letting threes go. They started, they started crashing the boards and getting the second chance opportunity. I was like, okay, yeah, and you see once they got the lead, pretty soon you ain't see number tail.

Speaker 4

Lights, everybody pitching in doing something. They they they they're a great team collectively. Bro, they gonna be tough to beat. I ain't gonna lie. They're gonna be tough to beat.

Speaker 1

Illinois going to their first final force is two thousand

Illinois is headed to the Final Four

and five, when they were led by Darren Williams. This team in college basketball figured out to use their size to an advantage the third seed and line I outscore the night. See that iwa forty to twelve in the paint and out rebounded him thirty eight to twenty one.

Speaker 3

Whoever saying size doesn't matter, he'll lie. Illinois got it.

Speaker 4

Hey, that that big seven one junior they got down there, That that big boy in the in the paint with playing around these perimeter guards that they got. Who can score? You know, Keegan Wagner, Wagler, he gonna be a he gonna be a lot of the pick. Okay, Ojoe his draft, Oh hey, hey he got visit today, Joe.

Speaker 3

Yeah, that's another freshman.

Speaker 4

That's another freshman stepping up, making plays, playing huge.

Speaker 3

Guess who else stepped up? Joe Stu Jakovic. There you go.

Speaker 4

Yeah, you know what he might come out to Okay, o Joe Jr. Yeah, he played he played well. He played well, or that I mean super efficient. You know, we look at his dad because his dad was such a great three point shooter. He can shoot it.

Speaker 3

But this boy here'll get to the rack. Okay, Oh Joe, he ain't even shooting him.

Speaker 5

Three to night he had seventeen points. He was seven for nine.

Speaker 3

Yeah, he off.

Speaker 5

He did off the best too, Uncle Joe.

Speaker 3

He's been doing that. He's been doing that all year.

Speaker 4

Though, I ain't gonna lie to you, I haven't seen Illinois play a few times. He been doing that all year. He been doing that all year. Illinois got a great chance. Yeah you got. You got them big boys in the paint who know how to play, and they ain't gonna take no bull drive down there.

Speaker 3

And you got your few guards who can get to that chicken.

Speaker 1

Yeah you got, you got a chance. He be a lineup man. They look they look good. Our I wur hung around as long as they could.

Speaker 3

Yeah, he did.

Speaker 1

They needed they really needed their guard, their guards to like play above their head. Yeah. Yeah, Sturt's played well. I mean, I mean he did what he did. He does what he normally does. He does, he did what he was supposed to do. Yeah, and hell I don't think I don't think he's been off the court. I think he played all forty minutes, damn all games.

Speaker 3

Yeah. Yeah, nah, he did ship he had too. What we what were saving you for? Yeah?

Speaker 4

You're gonna have a whole week of rest if we can win. Hey, But yeah, they guards, they guards. They had to get something from your guards. Bro, at this juncture, you know, the tournament, you gotta have some guys who can lean on perimeter wise, but you also need some good bigs you know who, gritty, tough and uh can get you some chippies around the basket.

Speaker 3

Right Illinois? Ready?

Speaker 4

Man, they ready for the next round. Fellas they might be. Who they got next? Huh they don't play Arizona, dude, No, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 5

He either way, that's gonna be hell either way.

Speaker 2

Whoever they whoever they got to play out of them too, is gonna be here?

Speaker 3

What man? Yeah? Because they yeah yeah, ok?

Speaker 1

And then the winner of uh who out here at the bottom. I will stay in Michigan. Oh Joe, you hear Arizona win. You got Arizona winning?

Speaker 5

Go ahead? He he. Hey, Hey you know my bracket.

Speaker 2

My bracket still in tact, baby, I told you.

Speaker 3

Hey, Hey, ain't gonna lie to you. Oh Joe, you do you do for a win? Bro? You do for one? You do for one like that, Joe? For one?

Speaker 2

You do for one? You do talking about Look at my bracket, Joe. Huh what we're talking about? This is what I do, Joe.

Speaker 3

So you need you.

Speaker 2

Hey, Joe, you might have played the game of basketball, but when it comes to pick and winners, that's what I do.

Speaker 3

Joe.

Speaker 5

I've been a winner all my life.

Speaker 3

See that's why we can't never let it win. I don't know who works. Oh Joe, Joe, what come on, man, come on, come on.

Speaker 2

I don't brag. I don't brag. Y'all the one't making fun of me talking about I picked mask.

Speaker 4

O, man, holler about him on brag, but just got through gloating talking about your animals.

Speaker 3

I don't win. Hey, he picked all animals. He got the wildcat, you got hookis if you got an animal of your name, that's what your team, that's what he that's he did.

Speaker 5

Y'all. See how y'all know some of the things y'all don't say hurt me?

Speaker 3

How you know it? Don't hurt me inside? Dang your bragging busted to huh oh yeah, my breaking does I'm doing.

Speaker 5

Hey, y'all need to just follow my leave from now on.

Speaker 3

Oh Joe still got Michigan.

Speaker 4

Hold on, But but if Arizona, if Arizona lose the next game, I mean, what is it's just a it's a three way tide ends huh nah.

Speaker 1

Because he got he got Duke. He still got Duke. He got Duke going to.

Speaker 3

The final four, and he got Arizona going to the final four.

Speaker 2

Y'all talking about Hey, matter of fact, you know what I'm gonna do, Joe, Uncle Joe, what you gonna do?

Speaker 5

Lotto lotto?

Speaker 2

And I know him, I guess the right numbers, and whatever I win, I'm gonna split it with y'all.

Speaker 3

You would do that, yeah, for y'all. Yeah, Joe, Oh Joe.

Speaker 1

If Michigan, if Michigan goals, you need you need what you go, But you basically you need him to get knocked out. You only got one chance. He got two chances. What I need. You gotta hope, You gotta hope. You gotta hope Duke of Arizona get knocked out. And really the only chance you got cause you still got you still got one team. You got Michigan going to the finals.

Speaker 4

A A A long as I got long as I got a fighting chance, hear me, long as I got a chance, I'm you never know.

Doc Rivers on the Bucks being eliminated frm the playoffs

Speaker 3

Doc Rivers on the Bucks being eliminated from the playoffs.

Speaker 1

It's been disappointing obviously since I've been here, I haven't had a healthy stretch. And it's been out your key guys, it's been Giannis, it's been Dame this year, having only one quote unquote star. Every other team has two or three. We needed help. We were thin, and all the talk and all the stuff problems it didn't help either.

Speaker 5

Is that it was considered excuses?

Speaker 3

Yeah, I mean yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1

I think the decision to move Adrian Griffin, who was what forty two and thirteen something like that, Joe, Yeah.

Speaker 3

Yeah, yeah, he was doing the hell of a job. I know that.

Speaker 4

I think they were number what one or two in the East at the time. Huh yeah, yeah, I don't know, man, I don't know what they're saying. They getting rid of Doc. Look ever since the uncertainty with Yanni for the last couple of years. If Joanna's going as he's staying, they they got rid of a lot of their roster to get Dag.

Speaker 1

They gave up a lot to get Dame that didn't pan out. Damon's back in back in Portland. Y'all is gonna get traded this offseason.

Speaker 3

I believe so too. It's gonna happen. I believe so too. It's gonna happen.

Speaker 1

He's not gonna sign the extension and they're not going to let that, let him go into that last year on that and and walk for nothing. Absolutely foolish to do that. So he's gonna get moved. And what do you have, Well, you're.

Speaker 4

Gonna have to hope, hope you trade for some something that's uh. I don't know if you can get ego value for him, No, but if you you know you're making you can get some some good conversation for sure.

Speaker 1

But in order to get good compensation, you're probably gonna have to trade him to where he doesn't want to go. WHOA, you know, Joe, the team, everybody knows what you got to trade him. They know you're not gonna let this contract, the ink on this contract dry and let him walk out the door for free. You're not gonna let have an ok C situation. What happened with Kevin Rent. Kevin Durant walked out of the door and got you got nothing? Yeah, yeah, And so you got to trade it where he wants

to be traded. Probably doesn't have the compensation all the players that you would want to try to rebuild this, I don't know. I got to think about when they traded Kareem. You know how long it was before they feel the contender? A long ass time.

Speaker 3

Because it's hard to get free agency in Milwaukee.

Speaker 1

Yeah, you got the draft really well. They did a good job.

Speaker 3

Yep.

Speaker 1

But I agree, I don't honestly, and I like God, I just don't know how he holds onto this, especially if they.

Speaker 3

Eliminated from the postseason they done. Yeah, especially, I'm saying.

Speaker 4

But with with that being said, especially if they get rid of Jannis, I can't I can't see. I can't see Doc staying neither. I ain't gonna lie to tell y'all because he went over there with figured Joe. What made them do what they did. They had to have to consulted Johnny's on this ain't no way.

Speaker 2

Yeah, it might have been him, him and him and the head coach maybe they maybe heads or something.

Speaker 4

And I think they brought Doc in there just to be able to deal with Dame and Giannis, you know, two great talents, to try and get him a mess, you know, similar to what he did with KG, Paul Pierce.

Speaker 3

And Ray Allen.

Speaker 4

I think they brought him in for those reasons, thinking that he could get him over the hump. And uh, they just got bogged down with injuries, bro and never reached their potential.

Speaker 5

Damn, that's messed up.

Speaker 3

Yeah, So they closed for sure.

Speaker 1

You know the wheels came off the moment Dame got hurt and they brought Dame out of that contract.

Speaker 3

Yeah, it was over.

Speaker 1

Because look at the compensation that you gave up to get Dame. Now you're saying, you know what, it failed fans and Milwaukee fans, We failed you.

Speaker 4

Yeah, because you pay Miles Turner with one hundred and eight million and talking about you only got one star with hell, you just paid somebody one hundred and eight million to come help him and he wasn't, which he wasn't what you thought he would be.

Speaker 1

No, And I don't know what he thought he was gonna, what was gonna happen when he went there. I don't know. Maybe he was frustrated with his rolling in India. I don't know, Joe.

Speaker 3

I think he thought that Dame would Dame there.

Speaker 1

You know, Joannis, I can anger the defense, get some easy buckets because they're gonna load up to stop Jannis and load up to that Dame and I'm gonna be working to one on one.

Speaker 4

And he can, I think, And he was thinking more of you know, you look at Gianni's who you know is a downhill demon. He gonna get downhill, he gonna create have it. And if I'm a sinner, if I'm Myles Turner, where I'm gonna be, I'm gonna be spotted up at that three point line. I keep the they paying me to keep this floor space, keep these dudes honest and let and let Gianni's work.

Speaker 3

And it just haven't been the cage bro And that's the thing when you play with free agency. You never know, you don't, man. I mean when they.

Speaker 1

Broke when they broke that team up, well, what really happened is Chris Middleton got hurt. Once Chris Middleton hurt that knee, he was never the same. Nah, he was never the same. They a couple of years and then they ended up moving on. He wasn't the same. Let Holiday go. They thought they would, They thought they could, you know, fix it with Kuzma and some other pieces Gartrent Junr, and it just it didn't work. I like Bobby Porters off the bench, but it just didn't work.

Speaker 3

Yeah.

Speaker 4

Now, I think Bobby, Bobby been giving him great minutes even because when them guys sit out and he start, he gonna get you twenty and ten. You know, I think he a great asset to have on the bench. Coming off the bench, he'll probably h because he still got some great value.

Speaker 3

He'll probably get moved too. But it's unfortunate.

Speaker 4

Bro.

Speaker 1

They're probably gonna start all the way from scratch, Joe. They're probably gonna, Yeah, that's what I'm figuring. They're gonna strip it down, strip it down to the foundation. Hey, try to build this thing back up.

Speaker 5

Hey, uncle Joe, They're gonna do the same thing in Dolphins doing Miami. What you mean, strip it down, strip it down.

Speaker 2

To the bottom.

Speaker 3

I can tell you.

Speaker 2

I told I told you where Yannis was going, right, so we know what that destination is gonna be.

Speaker 3

You think you think he's still going to Miami, Joe?

Speaker 5

I done sat in the meeting, Joe.

Speaker 2

I'm telling you now, when when you saw the report, what's about it happening? And you saw the reports where there's smoke this fire, that's how, that's how. That's how I'm telling y'all. I know what I'll be talking about. It just wasn't able to happen. What when When when the off season come and it happened? Like man, oh, Joe, you was right? You know you know my eyes is that everything have sports related in Florida.

Speaker 4

Now, so what's gonna happen with Joah?

Speaker 5

Hey? You know what? Hey, what's wrong with Young Bull?

Speaker 3

It's time to get out of mythic? Hey?

Speaker 5

Hey, uncle's wrong with Were Young Bull?

Speaker 3

Over there?

Speaker 5

Memphis?

Speaker 4

They gave up everything, everything they had around him that was worth something, Oh, Joe, they gave.

Speaker 1

They traded Desmond band they traded John I mean, look, they got to think about what they got far first for Jasmond Bande.

Speaker 3

I think they got three two or three ones.

Speaker 4

For trip with j And you gave up Booker like you gave up all your muscle. I mean, man, what you what you're looking for?

Speaker 3

Now? Hey?

Speaker 1

And so now I just don't know. I mean, Joe's gonna have to do things differently. What you mean by what you mean up by that how he conducts himself off the court?

Speaker 5

So you mean you think he's still gonna be there.

Speaker 1

It doesn't matter where he goes, He's still gonna have to conduct himself differently than what he did in Memphers.

Speaker 2

Oh yeah, yeah, most definitely, most definitely. But but I think conducted himself and when it comes when it comes to going to the right environment, you know, going over to that that that prison, that that that prison over there in Miami, which is like Bill Belichick in basketball terms, the closest thing to the Patriots and Bill Belichick the Patriot way is the Miami Heat.

Speaker 5

Yeah, conduct themselves.

Speaker 4

Yeah, if you got some discipline, it won't even affect you, bro, like that. It's just a way of life, you know what I mean, Like, yeah, they expect you to work hard. But if you're a disciplined guy, you know who don't mind doing a little work, you know what I mean, Like that ain't gonna it ain't gonna fake you. Trust me, I've been in the system, bro, it ain't gonna fecke you. But if if, if, if work came first and foremost in your life, partner, then yeah, it's gonna be a problem.

Speaker 2

Yeah, we're gonna get him, right, We're gonna Hey, hey, Joe, he needed to get an NBA career back on track, I hope.

Speaker 4

So you got to man, the man got the hottest shoe, he got one of the hottest shoes out yep.

Speaker 1

And you can't and you, I mean you and you're not even playing And it's the imagine, just imagine Joe what he could be with that engine that is Nikey behind you.

Speaker 3

Yeah uh. They had him projected right now as we speak.

Speaker 4

He's supposed to be top three point guard in the league right now, if not the best.

Speaker 3

He that's what he's supposed to be right now. Yeah.

Speaker 5

See, he needed he need to hang abround somebody like me, Joe.

Speaker 3

Why is that Listen.

Speaker 2

I'm only talking about on on on the point of the discipline and always want to work Joe.

Speaker 3

Okay, Okay, that's all.

Speaker 2

And I know I play around and make jokes lot that I'm talk about serious. Yeah, when it come to that discipline stuff and locking it on doing something I don't.

Speaker 5

I don't play like that. Joe.

Speaker 3

Yeah, I got you. I got you.

Speaker 1

Think about what he was before he started doing all this these shenanigans. He's an All star all the NBA.

Speaker 2

Hey, a sight to see you, hear me, Hey, that's on the Joe.

Speaker 5

He was a site to see.

Speaker 2

I don't even watch basketball, but there's certain individuals that will force me to turn the game on because it's something to see. It's exciting because you don't know what's gonna happen. A player like Job is unpredictable in the game I'm not talking about I'm not talking about the annex. I'm talk about what he doing that god damn court.

Speaker 1

Yeah yeah, another one off the court started impacting.

Speaker 5

It gets a new way, and man's another one. Ain't no telling what the hell he gonna do on the court.

Speaker 3

Yeah.

Speaker 4

But that's why when these guys first come into the league, you always see these great flashes because one like, we all know because if we all been there our first time playing the professional playing in the pros, you so they amn nervous and scared that you like, I'm gonna do whatever I gotta do to be able to.

Speaker 3

Shine out here. Like I'm gonna work my butt off. I mean, you know what I mean.

Speaker 4

Like your work ethic is through the roof when you first get to the league, bro. But once you figure the system out, o jo and you know how to manipulate it a little bit, Yeah, stop working as hard, you know what I mean, because things became a little easy. Your confidence through the roof, and you know, can't nobody

stay in front of you. I think I think the work tends to suffer a little bit because you're starting to get You're getting all these sponsors from all these different people, and you got all these obligations that you gotta meet, But you gotta always keep the work in the forefront, and don't forget the main thing, the main thing, man, You can never forget how you got there. Bro To be able to sustain and stick around for a long time,

you can never forget how you got there. You remember as a kid, Hell I know, I hain't gonna lie. When I was seven eighty years old, I was wishing I could play in the NBA. So from that point on till I was twenty years old when I got drafted. That's how long I have been working.

Speaker 3

Ojo.

Speaker 1

I tell guys all the time, I said, Bro, you're a football player. No, I'm of this, Okay. When they take football to play, take football away. When the last time you heard from momojo.

Speaker 3

Hey, that's no what you say.

Speaker 1

No no, no, no, no, that's not what you said. You said you was this, this and this and this. Now football is gonna I ain't seen nothing. Yeah, keep the main thing, the main thing, y, use football to do all these other things that will come a time that you will leave the game or the game will leave you. But then you could act the food, do whatever you want to do, but don't lose sight of who and what you are. You are a football player. Don't you

let these people get it? Hey, don't you listen to the street committee on this social media tell you that you something else? When they take that away, when they take basketball all the way, when they take football the way, what they're doing.

Speaker 3

Yeah, on to the next bro.

Speaker 1

You everything is right there for you, right there for you. And look at some point in time, Look, we gotta hold we gotta hold the individual responsible.

Speaker 3

So I had a great conversation. I had Michael Vick. Uh. I had Michael Vick on the pod, and you know when he worked at Fosters.

Speaker 1

We talked to him and I was like, Mike, it wasn't nobody around you that could tell you. He's like, huh. Everybody that was around me was doing with exactly what was I doing? So how were they gonna tell me to stop? And then why would I listen to them?

Speaker 3

Right?

Speaker 1

So, if you don't have you don't have a voice or reason in your ear, because here.

Speaker 3

The thing, Oh, Joe, you know this, Joe, you know this.

Speaker 1

I'm not gonna be the one because I'm not finna have you stop the bus and asked me to get off because I've tried to have you do right.

Speaker 3

I'm gonna let you do wrong, so you keep me on this damn butz. Yeah.

Speaker 2

Yeah, that's one of the problems everybody. Everybody entourage, yea, too many, too many yes men. Yes, They're always got to be somebody that gotta be the brains.

Speaker 5

You got to if we have an entourage, we have a group of people. We've been around since yay high whatever. Now you've made it.

Speaker 2

Now you the golden Goose, you the golden egg, you got you gotta you gotta protect, you gotta protect.

Speaker 5

Yeah, somebody got to be the brains.

Speaker 2

If if the golden Goose ain't gonna have the brains, somebody else has to be the thinking for.

Speaker 5

Them, and they don't be thinking.

Speaker 1

Man, you gotta have somebody or multiple people that tell you what you need to know and not what you want to hear. Because a lot of times people that you, right, y'all, may you be you? You gotta you got this far being you? Yeah, I can beat me.

Speaker 3

Why would you even want to.

Speaker 1

Entire life to get your family out of that getting out of the projects or getting out of that single family and there's nothing wrong with that. But ain't nobody says, you know what, I want to be a professional athlete and still stay in the environment and the circumstances that I've grew up in. Nobody says that. So don't get me wrong, because because I know y'all gonna flip it. Man, don't make it seem like there's something wrong with the projects.

And I'm not saying that. But you work your ass off for a reason to leave those situations only to have the same mentality that you had when you was in that situation.

Speaker 3

Shouldn't you want to change?

Speaker 5

I would hope.

Speaker 1

So if you think about it, guys, you make it out of there, what do you do? You get you a nice car, You get your nice You don't drive that same type of car that you had when you was growing up. Hub caps, missing, mismatch tires, Yeah you don't.

Speaker 3

I thank you.

Speaker 1

Phenomenal and I had an opportunity. Guy, y'all know, Look, I saw him, I saw him play several times. I've been to a lot of Laker of Memphis games. I think we all know that. Yeah he's phenomenal. Yeah he's phenomenal. Yes, bro, he just he just needs some leadership, some guidance to say, Bro, enough is enough. You done had your three year run where you did everything that you wanted to do. Lock in, lock in, bring it on home, now, come on home. I think, boy, I think he'll thrive. I ain't gonna

lie to y'all. I think he'll thrive in a Miami situation.

Speaker 3

Joe, talk to me.

Speaker 4

I'm saying, because you know what one thing about pat Riley, he gonna have a real sit.

Speaker 3

Down on one on one with him. You know what I mean.

Speaker 4

He do what everybody hell he did with me, and it's gonna be something in that meeting, Bro, that you're gonna be able to take and run with.

Speaker 3

And all you gotta do is apply.

Speaker 4

If you applied, I promise you this guy, the s guy, would be the limit for this kid again.

Speaker 3

Bro.

Speaker 4

Then I don't know. I just feel like Memph is ready to move on. I think Joe ready. They're moving on, Joe. And to get in the new they clean house and to get in a new environment. You know, it'll help in more ways than one. I want to see him. I want to see him make sail Uncle Ojo. I want to see yoall back out there, throwing grenades covering his ears. I want to I'm here for all that, man. I like the cool stuff, you know what I mean. I also like to see the guys who put in

the work though. You know, I love I love me a hard working cat, a dude who don't mind being there first and being there last, you know, getting getting getting them shots, getting them shops up before practice, after practice.

Speaker 3

He in the weight room.

Speaker 4

And that's why I say, in Miami, bro, I never seen an environment like that. I'm talking about to where after the game, the whole team in the weight room, we all in that lifting weights. I'm talking about d Wade u d It don't matter. Everybody in there. And that's the type environment you want to be around.

Speaker 3

Like the dudes Wan.

Speaker 4

Them dudes weren't rushing up out of that, Uncle Ocho to go to no club. I never went to the club when I played for the Heat. Man, we work so much. Why come wait to go home and lay down.

Speaker 1

Ryan Joe. That's the thing. The club gonna be there. The club gonna be there. Club will be there when you got the league too, and they're gonna treat you different with you as that guy.

Speaker 2

Hey, hey, hey, Uncle Hey, uncle Joe in one thing by that club and Miami A Joe.

Speaker 5

You know it, don't it, don't get people don't show up till two three in the morning.

Speaker 4

I know a A and they love him Miami heat o Joe, Yes, they love them heat players.

Speaker 3

Boy, I saw you got that. And that's the thing.

Speaker 1

Just Hey, when your best player is your hardest worker, you that's why you get. You get a Kevin Durant, you get a Kobe, you get a Jordan, you get a Steph Curry, you get a Lebron that's what you get.

Speaker 3

You get shape, that's what you get.

Speaker 1

And then when you see these guys that maybe not as talented and they work their asses off, now you get a Tyrese Maxi.

Speaker 3

Now you get an Austin Reeves. Yeah that's what. Yeah.

Speaker 1

You see guys like, well damn where he come from. Yeah, he came for working his ass off. That's it, head down. It's not that it's not that complicated.

Speaker 3

It's not.

Speaker 1

But you know, the ones that work, it ain't complicated. Work it ain't complicated. But y'all know, it's a lot of sacrifices that got to.

Speaker 3

Come with it. Meaning meaning listen, meaning.

Speaker 4

If you ain't a if you ain't got people around you who think like you, meaning like if you just got cast around you and they can't wait till nine ten o'clock come to ask you if we're going to.

Speaker 3

The club or not.

Speaker 4

Man, please, you gotta have some dudes who around you, who want to work, who gonna hold you accountable and keep you in check. Bro, like, you gotta have that, you know, you gotta have that.

Speaker 3

I look and people go jump in the comment.

Speaker 1

Man, everybody work hard on their job for for forty years. A lot of people work hard work at their job and have no aspirations of moving up. I'm just here to collect this check. I'm good, right, I'm talking about a guy. Greatness is boring. Go sit down and talk to any of the greats. I'm talking about it in an athlete's turn because I haven't. You know, I've met Jeff Bezos and have a conversation, but we did not talk business. He wanted to talk sports, so we talked sports.

Most of the time, when those type of people come around, they don't want to talk about what they do. They want to talk about what you do, and how did you do what you did and what was it like? What was l Way like? What was TD like? What was Brady like? What Peyton Mannamoe. That's what they want to talk about. But when you talk about greatness. I wish listen to them talk. Listen that Brady. Listen at Brady when he talked about greatness and the sacrifices that

he makes and the monotony of it. Look at Serena when she talk about greatness and the sacrifice and the monotony. And Tiger, and I know Tiger's going through what he's going through, but it's hard to deny. Nobody had a peek like he had no sound. Look at Lebron, look at step look at all the great It is very monotonous because ain't nothing entertaining. Ain't nothing sexy by lifting iron and running yourself into exhaustion and getting up at Joe said one thousand and fifteen hundred shots a day.

Ain't nothing sexy about that. Just what you do it over and over and over. And people tell me, man, you eat the same thing.

Speaker 3

That's boring. Shit.

Speaker 1

Some people do things over in sanity. Ojo is doing something over and over and hoping for a different result. I did the same thing over and over, hoping for the same result to be successful every time I stepped on.

Speaker 3

The damn field. Yeah. Yeah, there's a sacrifice to be great.

Speaker 1

The greater the accomplishment, the greater the sacrifice must be to meet said accomplishment.

Speaker 3

There is no other way around it.

Speaker 5

It ain't going You can't cut no corners.

Speaker 3

What do you wanna? What do you want to be? Man? I want to be this? Okay, what are you willing to sacrifice to get that?

Speaker 1

If you're gonna put what you want here, you got to put what you're willing to sacrifice.

Speaker 3

Here because they go hand in hand. Yeah.

Speaker 1

The greater of the accomplishment, the greater the sacrifice. It's gonna cost you something. It's probably it might cost your relationship or two. It might cost you a friend to two. It will might cost you a family member too.

Speaker 3

Yes, sir, But what is it that you want?

Speaker 1

Because you gotta remember now when you was as a kid growing up, who was there who believed in you? I talked about this all the time from our was the hig school. I can gonna get my my senior book and I can read what they said, Shannon. When you're rich and famous, don't forget me, Shannon, I know you're gonna make it. That's all I talked about all the time that I didn't go to the party. Are you from your country?

Speaker 3

You boring? You don't smoke, you don't drink?

Speaker 1

Okay, you're right, I don't, But I don't know if that's gonna help me get into college. And when I got to college, I don't know. It's smoking and drinking now I don't. Hey, don't get me wrong. Now, Hey, George Clinton, why must I chase the cat?

Speaker 3

You're the futuristic.

Speaker 5

You know what I'm saying.

Speaker 1

I I did but homework, practice, working out, studying. I had to get it. I had to get it. Hey, the teacher, give me two weeks to get it. Get an a sign of it, or I'm getting that thing done about three four days. I ain't waiting til the last minute. I was not no last minute type of guy. There ain't nowhere around the guys. I wish, I wish I could tell you. I wish, I wish I could tell you there's an easier way to success than to reach that.

Speaker 3

But there's not. There's not.

Speaker 1

And you look at these guys and you hear stories I've never seen Jordan workout. I've never seen any of these guys, but you hear stories, and I guarantee you this story sounds a lot, a lot like what you went through, O Joe, what I went through, Joe, what you went through, It's very similar. You don't get to that level. It's not an accident. My brother tell all people all the time. You know what, it wasn't playing. It wasn't an accident that we both went there. But it wasn't played either.

Speaker 3

Yeah.

Speaker 1

But what our grandfather and grandmother instilled in us, the work ethic, the determination to never quit, to never give up.

Speaker 3

Man.

Speaker 1

I had all these, all these offers to go everywhere, a top player in the state of Georgia. Here, I am prop forty eight man to say for a man later for that, let me kick it with my boys. Ride here, nah, hell nah, somebody going to Hey. And I'll never forget that. My coach David said, he say, son, if you're good, they'll find you. They gonna find me in Savannah State. Yeah, yeah, son, if you go, If you he said, if you as good as I think you are, they're gonna come see you. They're gonna come

get you. That's all I needed. That's all I needed.

Speaker 4

Man, Listen, it's been dudes drafted from D three schools.

Speaker 3

Man, if you're.

Speaker 1

Good, Blankston, you try to go here, try to go there. One year at Oregon State.

Speaker 5

That's all I needed.

Speaker 3

You know why, because that's why God planned it. Yeah mm hmm. See what God planned for you ain't a getting.

Speaker 1

Up, kicking you out of school, being back, had to go back to Miami, going to Sam Samo juco at. God had all that. So you know what I'm gonna send you all through. I will test you, he said, I'm gonna test you.

Speaker 4

Hey, hey, what they say, Uncle Ocho? You make plans and God sit there and laugh at you.

Speaker 5

Oh yeah every time.

Speaker 1

Yeah, we already knew. He already knew. He already got it. But man, John, you got too much Taylor bro, you got too much talent? You too good?

Speaker 3

And what's y'all? Twenty eight? I don't even know if he that is he twenty eight? I wanna say twenty seven to twenty eight. I don't think he that old. He twenty six?

Speaker 1

Oh yeah, queen Ay Joe the six is Big three

The Sixers Big 3 is back

are back on the block. Joel Embiid twenty nine points six rebounds, two blocks pg. Paul George twenty six points thirteen rebounds four steal Tyree's Maxley twenty six points eight or six seven rebounds Joe if Joel Embiid Tyrese Maxy Paul George pg thirteen If they are healthy, can they make some noise in the East?

Speaker 3

Yeah, yeah they can, Uncle Old Joe.

Speaker 4

Look, look if Paul George and Joe L and B gonna give you this on the night to night basis, because this ain't the first game they didn't play well since they'd have been back.

Speaker 3

I think this their second game playing.

Speaker 4

But they both putting up great numbers, shooting at a high efficiency rate, and they controlling and effecting the game on more than just scoring. I think you know, the the vestering presence mixed in with with Maxi and Edgecombe them young reckless abandoned guards man, they could beat anybody in the East because Kate still can't nobody guard in b if.

Speaker 3

He no, hell no if not in the East.

Speaker 1

But first of all, ain't nobody in the NBA can guarded He ain't e Wells North South, I don't there's a ABA the G League. Ain't nobody can guard Joe l and b nobody. He don't even have to be one hundred percent.

Speaker 4

I think Philadelphia because they beat the hot Hornets team tonight in Charlotte. It ain't like Charlotte ain't been no slows for since February, probably since Earth first, the first to February. They probably got one of the top records in the NBA. Like they've been playing great basketball. So to go in Charlotte and get a win, it tells me a lot if EMBA and Paul George can fit in with these guys like this. Hey man, we we

just got a new team. That's uh, that's enter the chat because they you know, we didn't count to Philly out for so long, and since Tatum came back for the Celtics, we put them one. You know, cave been hurt, so we kind of dropped the pistols. But hey, this here looks scary, man, Because I'm gonna tell y'all some tyrese. Maxie still ain't letting this put off the gas. He don't care who out there, He.

Speaker 3

Don't care who out there. He gonna get.

Speaker 4

He gonna get his shots up, he gonna be effective, he gonna apply pressure. They got a great team if them dudes stay healthy. I'm talking about they got a chance.

Speaker 3

They got a chance.
