the NFL record books. But it wasn't just the biggest and the brightest will forever be remembered as the Year of the Quarterback, not just for the new standards that were set, but for the performances across the league that will never be forgotten. What's going on everyone, I'm Mike Yam and this is NFL Explained Today. We're gonna rewind the clock ten years to see exactly what made perhaps the greatest single season for quarterbacks in NFL history. Did

you know what? The season had? Three five thousand yard passers, three qbs with forty touchdowns, four team scores by a rookie phenom, and t yard passes. all time passer who produced big numbers. In eleven. Mattie Ice posted the first of ten straight four thousand yards seasons, leaving the Falcons to ten wins. As of today, he leads all quarterbacks in career rushing touchdowns and trails only vic in rushing yards among qbs. How about Tony Romo, who is having another impressive year in Dallas. Tell you another thing about Tony Romo. When there's a bust of coverage,

he doesn't miss. Romo was his clutch guts he self in I was called Romo, touch posting nearly four thousand, two hundred yards and thirty one scores while peppering up oponents with the occasional fourth quarter miracle against the Niners. In Week two, playing through cracked ribs, the undrafted vet put on a signature performance to orchestrate a late dame

Before we put a bow on the year of the quarterback, let's rewind ton Week three, where

That's right, we're talking about Ryan Fitzpatrick. After two turbulent seasons with the Bills, the legend of fitz Magic was born in an epic clash with Tom Brady. of legendary signal callers, Peyton Manning. The biggest story of the opening week under the NFL season, easily the first time we have ever seen Peyton Manning's name on the

inactive list. In an ironic twist defeat, the most dominant passing season ever was missing the most dominant pastor of its era and offseason next surgery in eleven, but Manning's career in serious jeopardy and the future Hall of Famer missed the entire year, the Cults parted ways with their franchise player I truly have enjoyed in your quarterback, instead targeting Andrew Luck with the first pick of the draft. The Sheriff would punctuate his career in Denver when his

record fifth League MVP and second Super Bowl with the Broncos. Now, records are meant to be broken, and this new era of passing prowess will certainly break a few. Yet, no singular season in history has provided more quarterbacking firepower than that season. Cemented the legacies of all time, grades, provided unforgettable finishes, and rewrote the history books. As far as combined quarterback talent, it was in a league of its own.
