Episode description

Bob Byman, 1979 Bay Hill Classic Champion, joins me on this special segment of Next on the Tee.

Bob shares his stories from helping Wake Forest win back-to-back National Championships alongside Curtis Strange and Jay Haas. We also hear about how he came full circle from Arnold Palmer recommending that he play his college golf at Wake Forest after Bob qualified for the 1972 US Open Championship and played a practice round with Arnold Palmer, to playing there on an Arnold Palmer scholarship, to Bob winning the Bay Hill Classic in Arnold Palmer's first year as tournament Host.

Bob also talks about his transition to being one of the Top Instructors in the game now. He shares his tips for how to deal with tournament pressure. He talks about what mind mapping and layering are. He also shares tips from his book, "The Absolute Best Grip in the World: How To Finally Take Control of Your Golf Game" which is available on Amazon.com. I feel confident that listening to Bob's grip tip will help me straighten out my pull hook.
