Episode description

On this Sunday’s edition of News You Can Use on WTIC NewsTalk 1080 at
5:30a and 9:00a, host Ann Baldwin and co-host Lisa Nkonoki invite the
Executive Director and General Counsel of the
Connecticut Association of Boards of Education
(CABE), Patrice McCarthy for this year’s back to
school special.
Patrice provides some insight on what CABE is, as
well as how they help to assist and support the
volunteer school board members throughout a vast
majority of the state's school districts.
During this episode, Patrice also shares some
examples of issues that would be addressed by
CABE, such as academic as well as social emotional
needs of students or inability to continue certain
programs because of funding issues.
The field of education is never dull; it’s thanks to people like Patrice at
CABE and the Board of Education members that put in the long hours and
hard work to provide Connecticut children with an environment that allows
them to properly prepare for the next stage in their lives.
