Episode description

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention(CDC), autism rates are growing.  By one estimate, autism now affects 1 in 44 children.  Families who have children with autism have been looking for an effective therapy, often without success.  Enter JelikaLite.  Katya Sverdlov wanted a better treatment for autistic children so she teamed up with Dr.  Eugenia Steingold to create a therapeutic wearable device that combines non-invasive brain stimulation with infrared light, EEG sensors and an AI personalization platform.  The results have been so promising that JelikaLite was awarded a National Science Foundation grant. Listen to the episode to hear how the device works, how JelikaLite competes with larger companies, the challenges of bringing a medical device to market and a whole lot more.
