Episode description
Sometime in the late 1980s, a local New York music columnist would write an article exposing the violent street culture surrounding a growing crack epidemic. The popularity of that article would inspire a film script, and that script would ultimately emerge as New Jack City. Directed by Mario Van Peebles, New Jack City depicts the rise and fall of Nino Brown (Wesley Snipes), a small time hustler turned drug kingpin. Desperate to stop him, a headstrong detective puts together a task force that includes loose cannons Scotty Appleton (Ice-T) and Nick Peretti (Judd Nelson), who vow to get Brown off the streets at any cost.
