We tend to complain a lot about sequels and how that seems like that's all we're getting right now. But the first sequel came out in 1916, so why are we acting like this is a new thing? Is it because we're being inundated by franchise films every single weekend? Is it because there is nothing new under the sun? Is it studios not wanting to take any risks?
