Many genres of music were prevalent in the 1980s, but nothing defined the decade like the hair bands. With a style that combined the androgynous look of 70s David Bowie, the leather and make-up of glam bands, along with the sound of a more pop friendly form of heavy metal, bands like Def Leppard, Motley Crüe, and Bon Jovi exploded onto the music scene and gave us some of the best known rock anthems of all time.
