Since the earliest days of silent films Hollywood has been producing movies about the Yuletide season. Some are about specific aspects of Christmas like Santa Claus or family gatherings. Some simply use the season as a backdrop to punctuate the themes of the narrative. Whatever the case, the movie studios recognize Christmas and all of its trappings as a draw.
