Do you love your Mac? I've got it easy. I'm an IT guy at quite a large company. That means, that when my Macbook gets stolen, I'll get a new one. Agreed, no one will be quite happy when that happens, but I'll be OK. But think about it. What if I personally saved up for that Macbook. What if it was my own and someone ran away with it? Oh my! Luckily there's Undercover. Just in case... Also, check out the interview I'll have with the developer of this great piece of software: Peter Schols. Boy do ...

Customization is fun! I'm such a customization freak. There's nothing in the world I like more than tweaking my background picture, or messing around with icons in my dock. OK, not true. I like plenty of other things more that tweaking, and I use Overflow, so no icons in the Dock anymore. But still, this app is a fun little freeware thingy. Go get it! Explore music! I know there are quite a lot of services that allow you to upload data on the music you're playing. Often you can then go and look at wht other people are listening to. Find peers in musical taste. Even listen to their music. iLike is such a service, but the integration of their iLike client into iTunes is just smashing. When itunes just doesn't cut it... I'm a sucker when it comes to mellow music (can I say this 'sucker' or is this considered as explicit?). I really am. You just go and try getting a smart playlist that gets all the soft, slow music together. It doesn't work. Ditto when it comes to the opposite. Any 'mood' related playlist really. But Tangerine! succeeds in a very original manner. App name: Tangerine! Developer: Potion Factory Promotion in podcast: yes (go check out the episode... you don't want...

I tried to make this. On The Job is the ultimate Time tracking tool from the same developer that created Overflow. It's 'the ultimate' because it just bout nails it when it comes to all the functionality that I would expect from an app like this. And it remains being slick, basic and simple. My main brawl with open source applications in the end always boils down to the same thing. They're ugly and often not very intuitive. I'm going to get mail about this one, I know... but I'm right! I just don't see an open source operating system getting the same level of consistency as OS X for instance. And the advantage of a consistent OS is that apps that run on that OS naturally inherit that consistency. But once in a while I'm wrong. And boy am I glad I'm wrong about this app. App name: Gr...

Some people know a winner when they see one. Some computer/digital lifestyle companies know a great OS feature when they see one. And then go and implement it in their OS. Features such as CoverFlow, Dashboard, we're all clear on which company I'm referring to here. Anyway, apparently they sometimes forget to include a specific feature. I still don't know whether I like that or not. App name: CuteClips 2 Developer: BrikSoftware Promocode in podcast: yes (win one licenses for this app.) Sponsored...
