Episode description

This week Brenden Burnham caught this 35 pound, 3 ounce carp at Virginia Lake in Reno breaking the state record for carp! The previous state record was 34 pounds 10 ounces set 15 years ago. Brenden is an avid carp angler, and caught and entered 46 carp trophy fish in 2019 alone. In this week's Nevada Wild, Aaron Keller and Ashley Sanchez sit down with Brenden and NDOW's Fisheries Staff Specialist Pat Sollberger to rehash the moment Brenden caught the carp. They talk about the trophy fish program, carp fishing and why it's becoming more popular.
