Episode description

The Nats were pummeled 10-0 on Wednesday night to conclude the sweep at the hands of the Mets. Mark (From Citi Field) & Al convene after Washington finished a paltry 2-11 vs. New York this season and the Mets maintain a two game lead over the Braves from the NL's Wild Card spot. The Nationals remain stuck at 68 wins and need to go 4-6 the rest of the way to exceed last season's win total.

(14:00) DJ Herz was cruising through the initial innings, but the wheels came off in the bottom of the 4th. New York scored 9 runs in the frame and 7 of them came at the expense of the lefty. The big inning was a very costly one to Herz as it raised his ERA by over half of a run (4.30).

(21:00) Jose Quintana threw 7 scoreless innings for the third time this season against Washington. The offense only mustered three hits and two of them came from CJ Abrams.

(27:15) It was a big day in Single-A as Travis Sykora won Carolina Pitcher of the Year, then pitched well on the mound for the Fred Nats, and the evening finished with a League Championship.
