Episode description

The Nats lost 10-4 to the Giants for their third consecutive defeat. Al & Tim first off salute Joe Ross' father, Dr. Willie Ross, for assisting a choking woman at Oracle Park during the game by performing the heimlich maneuver. As for Baseball matters, Yan Gomes was placed on the IL due to an oblique strain, as the "Injury Rat" continues to rip it's way through the Washington clubhouse.

(8:53) Jon Lester got shelled in another start as he didn't make it out of the 3rd inning. Is this his final time donning a Nationals uniform? Can the team continue to use him in the rotation?

(20:01) For the 2nd time this summer, the Nationals offense was flummoxed by Giants starter Anthony DeSclafani. However, Alcides Escobar had 2 hits Saturday and is hitting .314 in the past week. What will his role be in the 2nd Half of the season?

(23:36) Max Scherzer was named to the All Star Game, giving the Nats four All Stars. Will he get the nod to start on Tuesday?

(31:02) A listener email asking whether the Nationals will be buyers or sellers at the upcoming trade deadline.
