During the National Multicultural Summit Bedford catches up with Dr. Tania Israel. She is a psychologist and professor at the University of California, Santa Barbara in Counseling Psychology. She specializes in interventions to support the mental health and well-being of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) individuals and communities; privilege and oppression; intersections among gender, ethnicity, and sexual orientation; and social justice. Dr. Israel is one of the editors of the Handbook of Social Justice in Counseling Psychology, and during the interview, she reflects on factors that inspire her work in social justice and how she keeps herself healthy and engaged.
