Welcoming Presence and Intentions

Thank you for tuning in your consciousness to the Naked Human podcast. I want to acknowledge your presence and what it took for you to be here today. Listening. My intention for you is that you receive what you came here for and find what you didn't know you needed. This podcast is about what it means. To be a human being and what it really means to be naked and how our relationship with Mother Nature has the power to heal us.

My name is Carrie Cott, and I'm a nude nature photographer, licensed photograph physician of Chinese medicine plant guide, and wild woman embodiment mentor. I help women heal from sexual trauma, awaken their authentic voice, and distinguish between fear and intuition so they can be led by their deep feminine heart. I bring to life in this podcast my own internal wisdom. I will only share what I've learned and experienced on a personal level.

As you listen, I encourage you to take from this what you need and just trash the rest. So happy listening. I'm sorry, you are not welcome here unless you're happy all the time. And if you have nothing nice to say, then you don't belong here. And actually, yeah, you're irritated because I am flying so high, so you're a fucking narcissist. And ew, there's like so many gross, toxic people in the world, and I don't have time for all your negativity.

So unless you have something positive to say, then you can get out of my life. End scene. Because only high vibes welcome here. Just totally fucking kidding, because that's not the case for me. I. I made this post the other day that was actually. It started with a thought. I had this thought the other day. Actually, it started way before this, because high vibes only. Like, what the fuck does that even mean? And being positive all the time and fucking happy all the time is not.

It's just not fucking real. It's just not what is real. I mean, come on. Like, if we think of happiness as sunshine, right? Like that, that's a. That's legit, right? Happiness. And there's lots of sunshine. It's just this warm, beautiful, bright day, okay? Now imagine if that day, that experience existed always. So it is bright, warm and sunny 24 7, 365. There is no darkness, none. There is no rain, none. There is no wind, none. There are no clouds, none. What do you think would happen?

My thought is that everything would dry up, burst into flames and burn the fuck down, and that would be it. Things would be hot, dry, and turn to ash. I mean, maybe some other form of existence would start to thrive in that. But maybe not, I don't know. But certainly what exists now, green, plush, vibrant, wintry, new, fresh blossoms, fragrance, all these, like, fragrant flowers. And the sound of a buzzing bee wouldn't exist.

So maybe you're thinking, like, gosh, it would actually be really amazing to be happy all the time. I mean, maybe it would be right. But see, there's this thing called the natural world that we are a part of that is not quote, unquote, happy all the time by the standard of the sunshine. Because if it was, everything would cease to exist in the way that it does. Human beings would cease to exist. I think that's a real fact.

And there are lots of things that are super important in order to produce, to create this stunning place called Planet Earth that is full of dynamic landscapes, lush greens, waterways, volcanoes, tropical fruits, apple trees, wolves, dolphins. I mean, mountains, the desert. I mean, it's just like all these. All these aspects exist because first of all, it's not sun shining 24 7. There's darkness every day. It's called winter. Nighttime is winter. There's springtime, the sunrise in the morning.

There's summer, there's midday. There's brightness light. There's fall, there's sunset time. There's rain that soaks into the earth, giving nourishment to plants and animals. There's coldness, there's hotness, there's all these elements, and they're all required in order to create all these dynamic landscapes. And so you, my friend, listening, you are this dynamic landscape with more than one mode.

The Dangers of Toxic Positivity

And so tying this into this high vibes only, which is, from my perspective, totally wrapped into this phrase of toxic positivity. And how I see it is that it's really covering up all the undesirables, all the undesirable aspects of ourselves, of others. And just be positive. Don't feel sad, just be happy. That's like saying, don't rain, please, just only sunshine. Rain is not welcome here. Like, how weird would that be? I'm sure there's people who say that.

Actually, I'm pretty sure I know quite a few people who get unhappy when it rains. Like, oh, rain. But I mean, I'm sorry, your rain is not welcome here. You must be a narcissist because you rained yesterday. Like, how weird does that sound? I think it sounds weird. It's as I see it, it's just a denial of saying only these aspects are acceptable.

That is something that so many of us are conditioned with, you know, it's like, only you got to get good grades because it's only good grades that get rewarded. It's only the good things. I feel pain and I feel discomfort. Oh, let me take a pain reliever so I don't have to feel that I am sidebar here I was painting my cabin and I fell and I hit the the my side, and I had this, like, gnarly bruise. I thought it was like, really, like, gnarly, as in, like, gnarly beautiful.

And then I ended up having some. It's like, it also bruised internally, like, not just my side, but moving through my rib cage over into, like, center of my chest. And I went to get an X ray just to make sure that nothing was broken or fractured. And I didn't feel that it was, but I just felt like that was something that I wanted to do. So I did. And the physician asked me if I was taking any pain relievers. And immediately, just what popped in for me. My answer is no. But, like, I want to know.

Pain and Awareness

I want to. I want to feel the pain. I want to know that if something I'm doing is exacerbating what I'm feeling in my body, I want to know about that. I don't want to take a pain reliever, a pain masker, so that I don't feel anything. So, like, I can go do cartwheels when really what I need to not be doing is cartwheels right now is tending to what's going on. And so it was just this awareness of, like, no fucking way would I be doing that. I want to feel.

I want to know, and I want to know if something I'm doing is exacerbating it. And that's why pain exists. Whether it's emotional or physical, they're all the same. In my book. There are indicators. Pain is an indicator. It's a check engine light. Like, have a check engine light in vehicles, and they let you know when something's off. Check engine, little light goes on. Hey, pay attention. Something's going on. Something's something's off. And that's what pain is. That's what any discomfort is.

So good vibes only, high vibes only. Being positive all the time denies our emotional guidance system, denies any aspect of ourselves that is deemed unpleasant. It doesn't mean that that aspect of ourselves that is unpleasant. Air quotes doesn't exist. It still exists. It's like just covering it up. It's like there's in your house and you're just spraying Febreze everywhere. It doesn't mean the doesn't exist. It just means that you're trying your as in you, as in the aspect of ourselves.

Doing this is a attempting to cover it up. But Febreze also fucking stinks too, in my opinion. So it doesn't work well, it's just shit trying to cover up shit. And if we're afraid, then that's exactly what needs to exist, is being afraid. Trying to not be afraid when we're afraid is insane. The word that came was delusional. Like, how does that even make sense? It's like being in drive and. Or maybe the opposite. Being in reverse and then trying to.

But wanting to be going and drive and trying to. I'm driving, I'm in drive. When really you're in reverse. Just be in reverse. Let the reverseness exist. Let the fear exist. It is a part of you. It is therefore a reason. It is indicating something. Oh, well, everything's going to work out, it's going to be okay. And you know what? There's such nuances about this that sometimes that's exactly what we need. But that's not what I'm talking about here. I'm talking about this.

Cover it up and deny and none of this unpleasantness is welcome. And I mean, I've seen this. And also, you know, these aspects of me exist in some way, shape or form. I'm not denying that I'm not included in having had these experiences or aspects of, of this showing up for me. I'm not excluded from the human experience here, so. But I've just seen it.

It's like I see these things like, oh, this person did this thing and I, I said narcissist in this quite a few times because like, it's just like so quick to label people as narcissists. I saw this post the other day that was, you know, your high vibe when who you're being irritates. Gosh, I don't even remember exactly what it said, but it was just like you irritate negative people. Something like that. It's like that person's fucking negative because they're irritated.

Well, geez, I hope you're never irritated then because you're gonna be negative and wrong and bad and toxic. It's like, what the fuck? We are all human. We're not exempt from the rainbow of experience. Being irritated does not make you wrong and bad. It's your check engine light letting you know something. And there's a reason we have an emotional guidance system is because it's here to help guide us. Emotional guidance system. Emotional guidance Guidance.

It's here to help let us know what's going on. What's this indicating? What is this Letting me know I'm irritated? What is that letting me know I'm not speaking up. I withheld that idea that I had about doing that thing at work, stuffed it down. Now I'm fucking irritated. Cindy said that thing, and now I'm fucking irritated. Because you know what? Even though I didn't like what she said, I can't believe that I believe that about myself. I'm irritated because somewhere I don't think I'm.

I'm good enough for. For that job. It's indicating something. And if who we're being irritate someone else, that doesn't make them toxic. And truly, the way that I interact with the world, if we're pointing at someone else and saying, you're toxic, you know, there's this thing where you then take that finger and then you turn it and point it at yourself. We're just seeing some aspect of ourselves that is the aspect of ourselves that we are denying and making wrong and bad.

And there's a distinction between having boundaries and needs and creating a space for yourself. And it's another to reject and deny and point fingers and name blame outside of ourselves. To point the finger at someone else and say, you're toxic, it's like, well, maybe, maybe not.

Maybe something about me is reflecting something about you that you don't like, that you rejected and denied within yourselves because of that one time when you were five and that part of you wasn't allowed to be there, wasn't accepted in your family unit or whatever the story is, right? So emotion is energy in motion. Life is all about movement, flow. Something is always happening, even if we're in stillness. And to only accept parts that are deemed favorable is a denial of that energy.

It's a denial of ourselves. So I said, good vibes only. Toxic positivity. And high vibes, high vibes only. You know, the vibes got so high. Forgot. You are down on planet Earth having this human experience. And the thought that had popped in the other day that I had mentioned a little earlier in this episode, was that it's like, do I need high vibes for.

Embracing the Depths: Understanding Low Vibes

How about them low vibes actually really like being in the depthy, shadowy, earthy aspects of life. And it's like, how about them low vibes? You know, like chilling with the mycelium and the tree roots and the underground and the deep wells of the Ocean. What about that? And it's not really that high vibes is literally above and below like. But just a little play on the humor of thinking high vibes only. I could just see, like a head filling up like a balloon and floating away.

And then we're no longer grounded and rooted. And I get that that's not completely what high vibes is about, but I see that in. And this isn't a judgment to say that if you say high vibes, only good vibes is wrong or bad. It's just a space to look and to consider. What the fuck does that mean? And especially if you're just out there rejecting everyone and everything that just has an ounce of disdain. You know, somebody does something one time and they're toxic, cut them out. Like, ouch.

And by the way, I know that pattern. I know the pattern of cutting things away and cutting people out, and it's really fucking brutal. But we're all gonna mess up. So to say we're gonna say something one day or do something, some aspect of ourselves that we're not even fully fucking aware of is going to express itself.

Or you're gonna see it, be with it, and you might not like it, it's gonna be uncomfortable that we also have those other aspects of ourselves that we're not even aware of that are going to show up and you're going to really like. It's going to feel enlivening because we all have all of it. So all the vibes welcome here.

Embracing All Vibes

Your human existence is welcome here. Whether or not as individuals, we choose to continue to interact in certain ways is completely up to us. Remembering that there is a distinction between choosing to move towards something in our lives, which may mean that other aspects fluff off like dead skin cells.

There's a distinction between moving towards something and that naturally happening and intentionally pushing away those people, places, and things that are so incredibly undesirable to us because they're wrong and they're bad. It's the opportunity to be within ourselves. When we do want to reject something, we want to punish something, we want to cut it away, we want to remove it, to sit with and ask ourselves and reflect on the deeper truth.

And imagine we have a mirror, and whatever that thing is is some aspect of ourselves that we have been rejecting within ourselves for whatever reason. And there can be shitloads of reasons and stories because the indication of that not being about ourselves is like the saying of water off a duck's back. So when we're not triggered in a way that has us want to reject something. That energy is integrated. And when we say, yeah, I'm not available for this, this isn't workable for me.

I have a boundary here. And when you do that from a space that feels like, yeah, no, that's, you know, there's just no, like, no, that's not welcome here. No, you can't do that to me. When it's just like, hey, this doesn't work for me. That's. That's the part of you that's integrated. That's that aspect of whatever showing up, that's integrated. And it's not a rejection, it's not trying to push away. It's just an awareness and acceptance and an honoring.

And the irony is that when we think that we're enlightened, we're really not. And when we think that we're high vibing so much better than all these toxic fucks, we're not. We're exactly that. It's like, oh, wow, I'm. I'm enlightened and you're not. Well, ironically, that's not how enlightenment works. It's not how it expresses itself. I believe it doesn't acknowledge its existence. It just is. Then it just creates more separation.

And yeah, that's not to say that there's not some rough people in the world that are doing some really not so nice things. That's not saying that that doesn't exist. But it's just about being able to choose from within yourself in a way that allows you to be integrated and whole and to move towards whatever it is that you need to move towards. And so I honor all the fucking vibes within you. Within myself, myself, yes, I have selves too.

Multiple personalities, as we all do, but that's probably best for some other episode. So for now, all the fucking vibes, we are complete. Thank you for tuning your consciousness to this episode of the Naked Human. However you find yourself, whether it's relieved, enlightened, triggered, or as if the past minutes were a complete waste of your time, it's perfect.
