Introduction to the Naked Human Podcast

What she shared with me was to share the things that are not so known about her. So that's what is happening right here, right now. Thank you for tuning in your consciousness to the Naked Human podcast. I want to acknowledge your presence and what it took for you to be here today listening. My intention for you is that you receive what you came here for and find what you didn't know you needed. This podcast is about what it means.

To be a human being and what it really means to be naked and how our relationship with Mother Nature has the power to heal us. My name is Carrie Cott and I'm a nude nature photographer, licensed physician of Chinese medicine, plant guide, and wild woman embodiment mentor. I help women heal from sexual trauma, awaken their authentic voice, and distinguish between fear and intuition so they can be led by their deep feminine heart. I bring to life in this podcast my own internal wisdom.

I will only share what I've learned and experienced on a personal level. As you listen, I encourage you to take from this what you need and just trash the rest. So happy listening. Rose Queen Rosa, Queen of the heart, Mistress of unity, medicine of love.

Exploring the Healing Power of Rose

Definitely talking about Rose and her divine medicine. And by medicine, I mean the wisdom, the teachings of this incredible living unconscious being known as Rose. And there are so, so, so, so many things that could be said and shared about her. She's been a part of history and used in many, many different lineages for different purposes. And there's a common thread of love, of course, embodied in Rose.

And I actually want to share something that I personally wrote about Rose, something that she illuminated for me in my own relationship working with her. And I've been connected with Rose for many years now. And last year I did a dieto with her in isolation and discovered so much more. And she just has never left my side, so to say, as the saying goes.

So I just want to dive right into this, and I also want to dive into this in this way versus sharing, like the common things that we know about Rose. Well, because I checked in with her before recording this episode and I asked her, you know what, what did she want me to illuminate about her? Did she want me to share? And what came. I was going to say what she said. Actually, I did hear it. Sometimes I say what I hear, and it's not really a hearing, it's a seeing or a feeling.

And what she shared with me was to share the things that are not so known about her. So that's what is happening right here, right now. So I'M just gonna start this passage here. Just follow along. It's not gonna start from the moment of a beginning, but this is something I wrote, so I'm gonna read what I wrote. All I knew was that I could feel an incredible amount of space inside of me, in my body and in my heart. Softness, openness. Melted armor, revealing tender rose petals.

Softness so soft that it dissolves into more softness, like the melting of the most delicious frosting in your mouth. Dissolved hard edges, moats, armor, walls built to protect the most tender parts of me. Dissolved. The fear, revealed human connection. Receiving the masculine energy of life. Hardened from pain, from physical and emotional violations with men. Deep fear of more. Of my innocence and tenderness. Being raped and pillaged. A deep feminine wound.

A fear of receiving in all of life all the flavors and textures. Wanting to keep something precious protected, so protected that not even love life could enter. Holding on so tightly for more safety. Who. Accessing that medicine in relationship with Rose, accessing, touching the places of hardened walls of overprotection, wanting so much to keep the tender parts of self, of myself, protected.

And I think it's very telling that in experiences and in my experiences of wanting to do that, there becomes a moat, a barrier that not even love gets to enter. It's so protected that nothing gets in and nothing gets out. And the first part of what I shared with you was actually the softening, the softening of the softening. And even that softness, softening and having relationship with Rose is a portal, a portal of softening. It's really magical.

The Healing Power of Roses

Rose is also an antiseptic and helps with treating wounds and bruises. And the way that I work with plants is as without within. And plants that are really great wound healers, a lot of people might just use topically because they're a wound healer and Rose is a wound healer. But she helps heal our inner wounds. The places where we're hurt, we're bruised, we've been cut and harmed in some way, regardless of the why.

And so when we work with her, she helps us tend to these deep places within ourselves that are depressed, grieving and in pain. Places where our innocence was robbed. And this is represented, as I see it, in her soft, tender petals. So delicate, so fragrant, so soft and beautiful, which can completely mirror our innocence, Innocence and innocence. Inner sense. Yeah, that's really beautiful. A soft, tender, pure expression of ourselves. And the thing about roses is that she has these prickles.

You also might know them as thorns. So a fun little fact about roses. Now, there are, like, I think 200 species of roses, not all of them are exactly the same. So most roses actually have prickles, but we call them thorns. Thorns and prickles are actually different in how they grow from a plant. So a prickle comes from a more superficial aspect of the stem, and a thorn comes literally from like the inner workings of the stem.

Like it comes out and it has an aspect of being able to work with the waterways of the plant. So most thorns have prickles, which is coming actually from more of a surface level of the, the stem, the plant itself. So just a fun little fact that most often there are prickles, kind of like saying the word prickles. And there are also some roses that don't have any prickles or thorns. And some roses are more bushy and some are more viney.

And that would be like a 24,000 hour podcast talking about all the deep inner workings of roses and all the different types of roses, all the unique personalities and energies and essences of each rose. And I'm not going to do that. So there are these prickles, a part of this plant, this being that has this really soft, supple, fragrant, pure flower. And these prickles do not cut every being that approaches. So bees, bees have access to the nectar of the flower.

Now if a deer approaches, there's a. There's a probability that a, a deer could get caught or pricked, or a human could approach a rose and get pricked and cut. But a bee. And so reflecting on what is this, what does this mean about Rose and her medicine is that not everybody gets to get in. She is damn fucking fierce energy of boundaries. And if you approach her unconsciously and unaware, and if you approach her without permission, without her agreement, you're gonna get fucking cut.

That's her protection. So she helps us discover the places where we need boundaries. Reversely, she also helps us discover where we're overprotected. Just like in my passage that I shared about discovering where became so protected that not even love could get in over prickly, over thorny. And so she helps us to see where we are in relation to our boundaries and in what ways. In places in our lives where we're under protected. In places where we're over protected.

Exploring Boundaries and Relationships with Rose

And she invites us into tending, tending to those places so that our tenderness, our softness can blossom, can bud, can bloom. When I was in my dieta with Rose, which if you don't know what a dieta is, I do speak about this in one of my other episodes. It's a dedicated time of communion with a chosen Plant ally, a plant friend. And so it's a devotional time. It's like a marriage with a plant. It's for a dedicated amount of time. And it's. We're in relationship.

So I'm speaking with Rose, I'm listening to Rose every single day. Throughout the day I'm spending time with her. And it, it looks a little bit. Differently sometimes with different plants that I've worked with. But I was out picking mushrooms with her, speaking to her, journaling, drinking her, smelling her, going to bed with her in, you know, I'm in conversation in all the ways, through senses, through words, through taste, through sight.

And so when I was in my dieta with her, something was coming up for me about a partnership and like romantic partnership. And what was coming up was this awareness of fear, fear of being abandoned. And so there's like been this looping story about like there's a fear of a fear of being abandoned. And I would say that even in all, all relationships there's like this go to like fear that's easy to access.

And it's like right there in my awareness, like there's a fear like I'm gonna be left and abandoned. And. But the amazing medicine of Rose cut right through the story, like to the heart of the manor matter. Yes. This like common awareness that Rose is heart medicine, Love, intimacy, union, unity. That she has the ability to cut right to the heart of the matter. And I was sitting there in this thought she had something to say about it.

And what she helped me to see and call out for myself and acknowledge, like, I'm not actually, that's not, that's actually not at the root. What is at the root is being seen like particular places within myself that I feel ashamed about. My fear is actually being seen in that. It was like, yeah, that's what's really there for me. The greatest fear is not being abandoned. That's actually safe. Being abandoned is safe because then I don't have to reveal these places that I feel shame.

And so it's actually a self protection. And that's the magical thing about some of the stories that we make up about like why we're afraid of things. I love playing this game of constantly looking underneath and what's under that and what's under that and like what's under that and what's under that and what's at the heart of that and what's beyond that. And Rose just cut right through that and showed me that.

And so she has this fierce energy to cut through her own bullshit to cut through the stories, to tape loop in our awarenesses. And so this is like the incredibly magical thing that I love about consciousness.

What I love about working with plants and fungi is like, oh, just the poeticness of looking at things and just the mechanics of plants and also the mechanics of the human body and how our bodies are communicating and all the energies of our organs and like thinking about the heart here and what does the heart do?

Like what does the heart and the body do in this connection with Rose and experiencing it through this divine union, the sacred partnership, relationship with Rose and being in the relationship and the revealing, the discovery together, the teachings, the musings, the medicine. And so these prickles are multi functional, are multi reflective, right? We can cut through things intentionally. We can use these prickles to intentionally cut through.

We can use these prickles to create protection places where we need, we need it. And also looking at the places that were overly prickly, were overly prickled and softening that softening. So not everybody gets to get in, not everybody gets to smell your nectar, not everyone gets to enter your pussy. Nobody, not everyone gets to hug you, not everyone gets to hold you when you cry. I think that's pretty profound teachings.

The Sacred Connection with Rose and Ancestral Women

And for me, Rose is connected to my grandmother's, well, my grandmother and my great grandmother. And so there's an aspect for me of divine feminine and that's well known about Queen of Rosa. There's also this ancestral devotion and feeling held connected to my feminine ancestors, to the women of my lineage. And so there's something really deeply nourishing working with Rose and feeling that deep nourishment coming from like this, this well of women.

Connecting with her is feeling and accessing and connecting with this powerful, powerful wheelhouse of women. And not just connecting, but like, like have my back like that are here, holding, willing to nourish. And so when I work with Rose and I kind of want to say it's like Rose is never she. She just like she's always here. My grandmother is always here. My great grandmother is always here. And I believe that there's this interconnectedness with what I feel with Rose when I work with her.

And especially when like who. She's just like a demand to be in my presence and in my space and for me to work with her is like this groundedness. And this is just something I've experienced when I've been in my own ceremonies. And by ceremony I mean ceremonies, a sacred time. And that could look like anything, you know, could just be sitting outside with Grandfather fire and prayer could be working with tobacco. I could be working with Rose. I could just be naked on the earth.

But it's this dedicated time. It's ceremony. It's my definition of ceremony is a dedicated, intentional time of prayer and intention and communing with consciousness.

Experiencing Groundedness with Rose

So something that I haven't exactly heard about Rose, but that I've definitely experienced is this groundedness, like feeling grounded. And I have definitely experienced that with her significantly, in many moments. And it's like, bam, she's there in that real way, like, bringing this grounded. This. I would say some other words. That would be like, calmness. There's this. This air of feeling safe to be in my body. And so she brings this. This medicine to feel safe, just to feel safe in my body.

And there's so much energy that I feel even just talking about that, because that is like a significant medicine of her for me, is this feeling really safe in my body and groundedness. And she's. I don't experience her this way, but she's not pushy at all, but she is present. I was going to say persistent. Not quite sure if that's it. Like, this energy of I'm here, I'm willing to make myself be known. And it's in such a way, I'm sure I could refuse it. However, why would I?

And it's not a push, it's not a demand. I wonder what the word for this is, because I've actually experienced this a lot in working with plants. There's an aspect of being that is commanding. There's like a commandingness, but also like, she's just showed up in some moments for me, where it's like, boom, she's here. And we're. I'm listening. I need her. She's here and I'm listening. And it's not. It's. It's not even necessarily that I'm like, oh, Rose, Rose.

You know, like, I'm like, calling for her, at least not with my human construct of words or awareness. But bam, she's there. I'm aware that she's here, by the way. She's never not here, but she's like, I'm here. And I'm like, understood. Got it. Welcome. Full permission. There's just like this unspoken energy, in agreement, and it's really profound. And when she comes in in this particular way, there's a groundedness that comes and it is full on. It is like this full on.

Imagine your whole entire body so grounded, feeling, so safe to be in your body. Like, Come on. That is potent medicine. That is divine healing. Thank you so much, Rose. There are.

Exploring the Medicine of Rose

I could, I could go on for another day going and just continuing this, this thread of Rose and teachings I've experienced with her and just even more that that comes and, and sharing her beauty and I'm not going to do that. So we're gonna close this conversation for now and allow whatever is surfaced for you, whatever you felt in this, listening, whatever landed for you to continue to integrate and to reflect on what the medicine of Rose, what Rose has for you. How is she speaking to you?

What is she saying? Is she illuminating for you? And if you'd love to dive deeper in the medicine with Rose, I can definitely support you in that.
