¶ Introduction to the Naked Human Podcast
Thank you for tuning in your consciousness to the Naked Human podcast. I want to acknowledge your presence and what it took for you to be here today. Listening. My intention for you is that you receive what you came here for and find what you didn't know you needed. This podcast is about what it means to be a human being and what it really means to be naked and how our relationship with Mother Nature has the power to heal us.
My name is Carrie Cott and I'm a new to nature photographer, licensed physician of Chinese medicine, plant guide, and wild woman embodiment mentor. I help women heal from sexual trauma, awaken their authentic voice, and distinguish between fear and intuition so they can be led by their deep feminine heart. I bring to life in this podcast my own internal wisdom. I will only share what I've learned and experienced on a personal level.
As you listen, I encourage you to take from this what you need and just trash the rest. So happy listening. Hey, Cari, if I come to one of your events, do I have to be completely naked? And to that I say yes. And there's a caveat. Isn't there always a caveat? No, maybe not. But in this scenario, there is a caveat to that. So I'm going to address the yes first. So, yes. Do you have to be completely naked? Yes. Yes, yes. That is one of the foundational medicines in this experience.
¶ The Medicine of Nudity
In this Retreat ceremony, whatever it is, whatever the container is, is the medicine of nudity, and it is the medicine of being completely naked. So the place that you have choice in being naked or not is saying yes or no to this experience. So if you register into a retreat, you're saying yes to the medicine of nudity. If you register into a women's container virtually, you're saying yes to the medicine of nudity.
Now, that nudity does not need to be seen on screen because it is Internet ethers, you're saying yes to the experience of the medicine of nudity and exploring that within yourself. And since it's a pillar of the experience, like, if that's not a yes for you, then this particular experience is not for you. So that's the clarity on that piece. And then the caveat about that is that you do not have to be completely bare naked the whole entire time.
What that means is if you're sleeping and you want to put something comfy on because it feels cold for you, then put something comfy on. If it's early in the morning and it feels a little chilly, and it would be so incredibly nourishing for you to have a blanket wrapped around your body or some really soft, warm fabric of clothing that you brought, then do that.
If we're sitting in circle and it would feel good for you to, like, hug your blanket or just have something draped over your body and feel the wind having it just like, touch your body, that piece of fabric, then do that. But it's in the root of entering into the medicine of nudity and then bringing in a different awareness as it relates to your clothing, as it relates to that tool and using that tool and nourishing yourself.
So it's not about being hard fucking core and the sun's beating down on you and you're like, I can't have anything on. So I'm not gonna put this hat on or I'm not going to just rest this fabric on my back because there's a little sun peeking through and. Or it's really windy or it feels really cold and it's damp this evening. And so, like, I'm just going to push on through it. Like, that is not what this experience is about.
¶ Understanding the Essence of Nudity and Comfort
It's about attuning to your inner guidance and listening to your body and what do you need and where is that coming from? Is it coming from? Yeah, I need to do this for myself because this would mean. And this would be about me tending to my needs and what would be really, really nourishing for me, or is it coming from a place of I'm trying to hide and I'm trying to close, you know, and just having access to look at that and to make some choices from that.
And it's okay if you choose to, to put something on because you're wanting to hide a little bit. And it's okay to put something, it's like feeling chilly to you or that's just like too much sun for you in the day, directly on your bare skin. So it's not about a judgment about being right or wrong or doing it so fucking hardcore. That's like the total opposite of what the space is about. And the space is about being naked.
It's about leaning into this medicine and exploring the places within yourself that it touches and that it awakens and that it brings to the surface and connects you with. And I like to recommend to women who come to my events and that work with me, bring things, have things on hand that feel really luxurious for you, that if you needed to use them, it would feel really yummy on your skin. They would bring an energy in that feels just delicious.
And I usually recommend, like, bring something you wouldn't normally wear. So, like, if you'd normally wear like, you know, baggy sweatpants and a baggy sweatshirt, that's my jam, you know, bring something that maybe you would want to wear or you would want to bring in a different kind of energy with. And so in my scenario, it would be like bringing in something that's really soft and flowy and see throughy and very minimally. And like, ideally I would also like to just wear that in public.
And you know, maybe I. I can't because I'm just also really naked and it's so see through. And maybe that's not that I can, it's just that that's something that I want to like, lean into.
¶ Embracing New Energies Through Clothing
So like bringing in these fabrics and playing in this space where it's at choice, where it's about inviting in a new energy and creating. And so subliminally, it's creating different brain patternings, different programmings about your body, about clothing and inviting and different energy. So that's really it. That's the caveat. And yes, this medicine is about getting completely naked. And that's it for now. So until next time. We are so complete. Good day.
