Welcome to Nacho Fitness Coach, the podcast where fitness is more about fun than form. I'm Sarah, the fitness expert who lifts heavy and loves a good challenge. And I'm Kaylee, a newbie who runs more for survival than sport. We're here to remind you that fitness doesn't have to be serious, but we definitely take the snacks seriously. So if you're looking for some laughs and a few questionable fitness tips, you've come to the right place. Welcome to season five.
Hey, welcome back to Nacho Fitness Coach, the podcast where Sarah's got muscles. I've got the caffeine shakes and we're both just ignoring our need for therapy. I'm Kaylee and next to me is my quick to judge, slow to run co-host, Sarah. Are we recording the intros now every time? It's going to be like this every time. Really? You're going to read the intro. So we specifically had a listener that shared a question with us through Instagram in the DMs.
Do you remember when you sent it and I saw it and it was very like you centric. Like it was specifically about a question for me becoming a personal trainer. Yeah. Right. Yeah. It feels like something Sarah should answer. Well, you know, that is obviously probably the most important part is like finding some sort of routine and pattern. Even if it's just five minutes a day, but it starts there and you can slowly build from that.
But it does make a difference just carving out that time or being mindful of scheduling that time for yourself, whether that's early in the morning or midday or whatever it can be. So, you know, first of all, you got to plan your schedule a little bit. That's fair. Like I said, I'm not right that you. Yeah, I'm not saying like as far as like, yes, two things can be true at the same time. Food has gone to shit.
We need to be paying attention to what's in our food because I'm going to be honest with you. It's poison. Mm hmm. And that's not fear mongering. No, because it truly, truly is. You're eating poison, you're feeding your kids poison and people need to wake up to that. The recommended diet, like the dietary guidelines from the U.S. Department of like, is it under it's stupid low. Like it's literally like you don't get off a couch and just keep you breathing kind of low.
OK, so as I would opt for a point eight grams to one gram of protein per pound of body weight every day. Yes. No excuses. That's a good start. You don't have to go muscle. You need to go more than that. Thanks for listening. Be sure to head over to our Instagram at Nacho Fitness Coach and let us know how you feel about the topic. Do you love it or hate it?
