Below, and welcome to Mythic Mind, where we pursue wisdom of the past between primary secondary worlds. I'm your host, Andrew Snyder, and I am always grateful for your company. All right, so it's time for transparency because I've come to a conclusion. Actually, by this point, I suppose I should say that I've returned to a conclusion. When I get an idea in my head that I want to pursue, I have a tendency to go full
force and has said unachievably ambitious goals. This may work out for a little while, but at some point reality snaps back and I find myself overwhelmed by my commitments. Now I've said things like this on the show before because this is a habitual problem for me. Oftentimes passions outweigh practicality, because there are just so many things and so many worthwhile things that I want to pursue but
that simply aren't practical without full time funding. And hopefully I will get there one day, but we are quite a ways away from that for now. I'm going to reel back just a bit, because if I must choose, I would prefer to consistently produce high quality over high quantity content. I will likely continue to fiddle with my content strategy as I find the optimal flow,
but here is my current plan. For a while, I've been striving to produce full episodes of the podcast every other week, but especially now that I'm doing interviews, that has become a big strain on my schedule, and so at least for the time being, I am going to aim to keep my schedule of an episode every other week, but I'll be alternating between full episodes, which will include interviews or other series related content, and shorter episodes,
which will focus on providing recommendations or just some other thoughts that may be on my mind. This will allow me to keep a steady stream of episodes while being able to improve preparation and production of my fuller episodes. But if I need to get off schedule sometimes to do this rightly, that may happen. For the past while, I felt like I've been flying by the seat of my pants too much and not preparing as much as I'd like to or putting
enough time into post production. And I think that that has shown, or at the very least it has shown to me, and so moving forward, I believe that you're going to notice a marked increase in quality, even if quantity delays a bit. And after the season, I'm going to start taking breaks between seasons. That way I can better prepare and provide a better show.
All right, So next, let's talk about my substack. I've been hesitant to get back into my weekly substack on Tolkien's Letters simply because I know that I can't keep up with it if you haven't checked it out yet. I had started to summarize and reflect on Tolkien's letters and I really enjoy it, and I want to get it going again. And so again I'm just going to reel it back a bit to make it more practical, more manageable.
And so instead of weekly post, I'm going to aim for a post every two weeks, and just as before, post on odd numbered letters will be free for all subscribers, but posts on even number letters will be exclusive to patrons at the super patron tier or hire. And so when you join our Patreon community as the superpatron, I will gift you the paid Subtack subscription. And if this interests you, and then go over to patreon dot com
slash Mythic Mind and sign on at the superpatren tier or hire. I really believe that slowing down my content schedule a bit will enable me to produce better content, as well as to engage more in the Mythic Mind, Humanity's guild, and generally manage life better. I may not produce as quickly as it like, but it will be nice for everyone if I could take the time to do things the right way. And so for now, for the rest of this episode, I want to recommend a couple of podcasts to you which
will have a fairly clear theme. Now. I don't remember if I've already mentioned this in a previous episode, but one of my recommended podcasts right now is Aaron Herber's I Might Believe in Fairies. Erin is a Catholic, a scientist, an entomologist, if I recall correctly, and as his podcast might suggest, he might believe in fairies. Aaron has a strong interest in fantasy and fairy and faith, and he'sst to a number of interesting guests who operate
in this area in various capacities. Aaron I have also been in talks about bringing him onto the Mythic Mind podcast in the not too distant future, and the next podcast I want to recommend is one that I just discovered is called Haunted Cosmos. It's these two Christians Protestants this time, who approached the mythological
and the paranormal from a Christian perspective. It is so easy for today's Christians, me included, and to imbibe the tonic of modernism and to become a functional materialist, discounting all echoes of the paranormal with mundane even harder to believe mundane explanation. The old gods are surely just superstitions, or the very least mere psychological projections sea serpents, or just the tales of primitives and drunkards as spirits, spooks and aliens. Well, you get the drift. But what
if, just maybe we're wrong? What if modernism is a disease rather than a cure. What if there is more to reality than the things that we see? What if we live in a world of spiritual conflict? What if the Bibles harder to register, passages of magicians, spirits, demons, and even ghosts ought to impact the way that we view and engage with reality.
If these questions pique your interests, then check out Haunted Cosmos and hopefully I actually be having them onto the show in the not too distent future as well. And now before we go, I'd like to publicly thank all of my superpatrons and higher that's William, Paul Patrick, Matthew, Laura, Jocelyn, Jamie, Ian Harrison, Emmy Clinton, Andrew, Aaron with an A, other Eron with an, a, Eron with an E, and Mark.
I'd also like to thank all of my regular tier patrons as well. And if you would like to support the show and become a member of the Mythic Mind Humanities Guild, which now includes about forty readers, writers, scholars, and general enthusiasts of the humanities, you can head over to patreon dot com
slash Mythic Mind. Different tiers to support will activate different perks, but any level will grant you access to the Guild, which includes our private discord server and the ability to contribute to our community substack, as well as our community podcast, which is slated to launch sometime in the next few months. And so whether you simply want to support the show as a silent supporter and gain access to early and add free episodes of Mythic Mind, or you want to
become an active member of the Humanities Guild. Then you can go to patreon dot com slash Mythic Mind, but that's different now and until next time, I wish you many meaningful trails ahead
