Episode description

"Remember, dear listeners, you heard it here first, off the record, on the Q.T. and very Hush-Hush."

L.A. Confidential is a 1997 film from director Curtis Hanson, based on the novel by James Ellroy. It stars Guy Pearce, Russell Crowe, Kevin Spacey, Kim Basinger, Danny DeVito, James Cromwell, and David Strathairn.

This well-acclaimed neo-noir centers around a trio of Los Angeles Police Department detectives in 1953. Ambitious rookie Edmund Exley, brutish Bud White, and celebrity cop Jack Vincennes each come into contact with a murderous, mysterious conspiracy, one that proves that if you scratch the tinsel surface in the City of Angels, all you'll get is grime beneath your fingernails.

Listen to Áine and Kevin expose restaurant murders, gigolos impersonating as William Powell and Wally Cox, and Kevin’s first date at an Elvis impersonator’s concert.
