Episode description

Ana Marie Cox is a political columnist and culture critic and is the Senior Political Correspondent for MTV News. She writes about politics and policy, and hosts the “Talk” interviews featured in The New York Times magazine. She lives in Minneapolis, MN and—despite frequently tweeting about cats—has more than 1.3 million followers on Twitter.

SHOW NOTES:

0:36 - How did Ana get so many freaking followers on Twitter? She says it's because she "cheated." We say it's because she's awesome.

2:58 - Of all the people Ana has interviewed, an awkward, in-person chat with Senator Ted Cruz takes her top spot as "worst interview ever."

6:15 - Ana tried to get him to answer the question, "If I bake the cake for the gay people, what is God mad about?" He didn't.

8:57 - When all else fails, ask about Star Trek.

10:09 - Ana uses RINGR for her role with MTV News, and you can check it out for free right now.

12:01 - Tim tries really hard to make a compelling analogy and ends up mixing two completely different analogies together. It sounded pretty funny.

12:41 - A powerful (and fairly recent) conversation with a friend that challenged Ana to think about miracles in a different way ended up changing her view of life and religion forever.

15:01 - Learn more about Ana on Twitter or learn more about her on her website.
