A Path to Zoo Medicine with Patrick Douglas

“Fixing animals and being a voice for them when they don’t have one and feeling like I make a difference in an animal’s life is more rewarding to me than anything else in the world. And that’s why I really got interested the most in veterinary medicine.”

Our guest today is Patrick Douglas. Patrick is a certified veterinary technician. After a few years in private practice, he decided to relocate to Arkansas. He’d always wanted to work at a zoo, and saw they had an opening at the Little Rock Zoo. He figured it wouldn’t hurt to put his name out there and applied. After several interviews, the job of his dreams was his! We learn what his day to day activities look like, what has surprised him the most and just how awesome his job really is! We cannot wait to share this journey with you!
