In this episode Rebecca Smith and Deanna Longo interview Dr Fern Silverman and Dr. Andrea Tyszka on their work in community-based OT, specializing in universal design and sensory- friendly programming in Philadelphia, PA. 

Fern Silverman, EdD, OTR/L is a professor in Salus University's Occupational Therapy Department and serves as the assistant program director of their post professional OTD program. She previously held a faculty position at Temple University.  Dr. Silverman also has decades of experience as a pediatric OT, working with children from birth to 21 across a multitude of settings.   Her research interests include community participation for families and best practice for activities of daily living in pediatrics. 

Dr. Andrea Carr Tyszka, OTD, MS, OTR/L, SIPT, is an associate professor at Salus University. She has over 20 years of experience in pediatrics, working in schools, homes and communities. She conducts research and consults at various community-based settings, & has presented & published at both the state and national levels on accessibility and participation.
