You're listening to the My Morning Devotional podcast, episode 1289. Today's Devo is called Strength Training. Hey there. We're the Aleskies, a ministry family working together in our church in Miami, Florida. And if you're like us, when days get busy and to do lists get longer, it can be hard to find devotional time. That's why we've partnered with our friend Allison to produce a five minute daily dose of heaven. This is the My Morning Devotional
Podcast. Hello everyone, my name is Lauren Alessi and I am your host for this week. We are talking about God making us stronger. God building our capacity and being made for more overall. So I hope you're enjoying this week. I know I can let you in on a little visual as I was recording yesterday's podcast. About halfway through. I'm in a room where there's an energy saver light and it's like motion detector and, and the light I don't like. I'm not in its view for it
to see me move. And I. It went off and I was completely in the dark for the second half of that podcast. So that was really challenging to finish the podcast. And I recorded it completely in the dark, which is kind of funny. That's a little visual you can picture if you'd like. So even this podcast week is strengthening me, growing me, challenging, challenging me.
Um, but it's been fun nonetheless. So today we're talking about strength training and we touched on this a little bit before, but like I mentioned, I enjoy working out, I enjoy exercising, and if you do too, then maybe you can relate. I have a terrible habit when I exercise, and that is I will forget to increase my weight. So I will work out at a certain weight. I get comfortable at the certain weight. I don't like to sweat
too much cause it dirties my hair. And I just washed my hair yesterday, so. So I will just stay comfortable at a certain weight until someone comes along and says, hey, you should probably increase your weight, because you can. And that's a little bit what we're talking about today. How in life, we need God in our life, going, hey, you're actually stronger than you think you are. You can actually take on more. So our verse of the
16, and it says this. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his spirit in your inner being. And that's honestly what I pray for you all today. I pray that out of God's glorious riches, he may strengthen you with power through God and his spirit in your inner being. So sometimes we face some really tough times, like really,
really tough times, and we want to pray for a lighter load. And I will say God is gracious enough that he will give us a lighter load when we're facing something that's too much for us to handle. Because the Word says that God's not going to give us something we're not
able to handle. But when we are facing a tough time, maybe God's going to give us the strength to get through it instead of always bringing us out of the tough time, instead of always bringing the lighter load, maybe God's just going to bring us an opportunity to make us stronger. The capacity that God gives us doesn't always mean, okay, God's gonna remove the challenge. If you're praying for God to bring you a spouse, maybe that result doesn't look like done tomorrow, God brings you
a spouse. Or if you're praying for a house, which rhymes, a spouse. Wow, Dr. Seuss, that doesn't mean that, boom, like, tomorrow you find a house, or if you're praying for, I don't know, children, a dream job, whatever you're praying for, that doesn't mean that automatically, boom, God's going to answer it. But maybe he sends
challenges your way to make you stronger. So that when God does bless you with the dream spouse, the dream house, the dream kids, the dream job, whatever you are facing, that God has equipped you to become strong for whatever you're walking into. So when you feel overwhelmed, remember, it's not that you're weak. It's not that you
need God to remove a lighter load necessarily all the time. But maybe you're just in training and God's looking at you going, hey, actually, you can increase your weight here because you're stronger than you think you are. God is enlarging your inner capacity to steward blessing, to lead well and endure difficulty with grace. Let's pray. Holy Spirit, we thank you right now, God, that you know that we are stronger than even we think we are. Lord, we need your
strength. God, we thank you that you see us as stronger than even we view ourselves. But Lord, we still need your strength every single day. We don't want to run from responsibility or pressure, but we want to stand in it with you, Lord. We want you and your strength to stand with us in it, Lord. So, God, strengthen us, strengthen our discipline, strengthen our heart, strengthen our faith and grow us, Lord, from the inside out. In Jesus name we pray. Amen. So there
you have it. Your 5 minute daily dose of heaven. Thank you so much for tuning in today. We pray these devotionals empower you to take on your day.
