You're listening to my Morning Devotional podcast, episode 1276. Today's Devote is called A Generous Person. Hey there. We're the Alessies, a ministry family working together in our church in Miami, Florida. And if you're like us, when days get busy and to do lists get longer, it can be hard to find devotional time. That's why we've partnered with our friend Allison to produce a five minute daily dose of heaven. This is the My Morning Devotional Podcast. Good morning everybody and happy Monday.
My name is Rachelle Alessi and I get to be with you this week. I know Gabby did incredible last week and when she had her entire week on, really was so good, it blessed me. And so it's my turn this week and I'm excited to share. As the summer is approaching, I thought about doing something that would just help us be refreshed. We're going into summer
and almost half through the year. And you know, when we start our year, we have all these projects, we have all these things that we want to accomplish and resolutions, and sometimes we get to this time and we start to get a little tired and we start to think of we want to power down and we, we just don't know if we have the energy to do what we have to do. But honestly, I know that the Bible and our relationship with God can carry us through even in a moment
where we might be getting tired. And so this week is really going to be about just being refreshed. But I wanted to start today on Monday with Proverbs
25. And it says, a generous person will prosper. Whoever refreshes others will be refreshed. And I love that the scripture shows you that sometimes to get what you want, you almost have to go and do it. First you have to sow the seed for it. This actually challenged me because I had a couple of weeks ago where I was just feeling a little tired. You know, schedules can sometimes be a little bit different and with kids and everything, but I
was like, hold on. If I'm feeling a little tired and I just feel like I need to be refreshed, how about I go do something for somebody else? Bless somebody else. I definitely am not only one feeling this way. And I came across this verse and it says a generous person will prosper. And I love this because it challenged us to be generous with others. How
can we be blessing other people this summer? I know everybody's traveling and people slows down, but we should be very intentional about being generous because we have A very generous God. And so I just encourage you guys this week. How can you bless somebody else? How can you go refresh somebody else? Maybe it is just giving him a gift, maybe it's a text message. However, it is that you feel like you can go and be a blessing and a giver and refresh others. I encourage you to do that this
summer. Sometimes we get so focused with our rest. What we need to recharge, what we need for what's to come, how we need to power down this summer. If not, I don't know how I'm going to survive the fall. We have all these thoughts, but in reality is we can do all things through Christ who gives us strength. We're not weak. We are strong and God provides. And yes, we can accomplish everything we need to do. The year might have started
strong, but we're going to finish the year even stronger. But in this like middle period, I encourage you to, yes, relax, power down, travel with your family, but be intentional about how you can bless others and refresh others. So let's pray. Father God, we just want to thank you for another great week that you are going to give us. And I just pray that you will speak to us, Father, that you will give us the people and the ways that we can go and just be a blessing. Ways that we can be generous
to others, Father. And in that way, it could also bless your heart. We're going to put a focus on being a blessing to other people and not be consumed by our own things. So we thank you, Lord. In Jesus name we pray. Amen. So there you have it. Your 5 minute daily dose of heaven. Thank you so much for tuning in today. We pray these devotionals empower you to take on your day.
