Hello and welcome to this week's episode of My Big Idea, an ASOS podcast giving young women advice and inspiration to start their own businesses. Our host Miranda speaks with Carol Deeney, Co-founder of Scottish inspired Market pop-up and permanent East-London Cafe, Deeney's.Deeney's was founded in the Summer of 2012 by Paddy and Carol. Carol was born and bred in a Scottish café and has spent her whole life cooking tasty food for the people around her. So she packed in the 9 to 5 office life and now does what she loves, full time.Carol began the Deeny's journey selling food in popular London markets, an example being Broadway market. Her haggis sandwich 'the Macbest' soon gained a cult following, inspiring her to expand the empire and open Deeny's cafe in Leyton. The cafe serves the famous haggis toastie, alongside a healthy selection of breakfast dishes, soup, salads and cakes.Through Deeny's, Carol aims to deliver delicious, wholesome and often underrepresented Scottish meals to the people of London, all while staying true to their Scottish roots.This is Carol's big idea.
