Introduction of Shemekia Dickerson to the Board of Trustees by President Siddiqi: "Sometimes we have dreams that we don’t think we can achieve or think they are impractical. Shemekia Dickerson learned that life is too short to let obstacles get in your way. When she found out she had a brain tumor, she decided that now is the time to live her dreams. She is an outstanding artist who attributes her success to the HCC studio art faculty. Here is her story.
