In September 2009, 20-year-old Richard McCroskey brutally murdered three members of one family and one friend staying the night.

Emma Niederbrock, Melanie Wells, and Richard McCroskey had all met online the year prior. Having found each other through the rap scene known as horrorcore, this would be their first, and last, night spent together.
