Episode description

The narrative of a serial killer from the 1970s and the woman who selected him for a date after both were featured on the television game show The Dating Game will be depicted on screen next month in Netflix's Woman of the Hour, which marks Anna Kendrick's debut as a director.

On Tuesday, Netflix unveiled its initial teaser for Woman of the Hour, showcasing Kendrick and Daniel Zovatto in their portrayals of Sheryl Bradshaw and Rodney Alcala, respectively. The teaser presents a chilling date that, in reality, never took place.

In actuality, Bradshaw and Alcala had both been involved in a series of murders prior to their appearance on the show, managing to elude law enforcement. Although Alcala initially captured Bradshaw's interest, she later declined to pursue a date with him, describing him as creepy.

Criminal profiler Pat Brown later informed CNN that Bradshaw's rejection may have intensified Alcala's psychopathic tendencies, which ultimately led to his arrest in 1979 and his conviction for seven murders, although he is suspected of having committed over 100.
