Episode description

The tragic killing of 14-year-old Reena Virk in 1997 by her peers deeply impacted a small community in British Columbia, Canada, and captured the interest of determined journalist Rebecca Godfrey. Her extensive research and subsequent bestselling book on the incident serve as the foundation for the upcoming Hulu series, Under the Bridge.

On November 14, 1997, a group of teenagers enticed Virk to go under the Craigflower Bridge near the Shoreline School in Saanich. During this encounter, Bell intentionally extinguished a lit cigarette on Reena's forehead, sparking a violent altercation involving Ellard, who struck Virk with a closed fist, as well as several other girls and a boy named Warren Glowatski.
